• Wonderful staff, proximity to Santa Cruz downtown and weather!
• Neighborhood requires appropriate caution.

“To me, the location's proximity to the downtown, the beach and the boardwalk, for someone who wants to be able to walk everywhere, overshadows the fact that the area is a bit dicey. I just try to do my walking during the daylight, or be sure I'm with someone (or, at night, be in a friend's car). I think the poolside/courtyard rooms are lovely and as I love Santa Cruz and the Northern California coastline in general, it would be difficult for me to find fault! Also, every time I've stayed there, though the last stay was two years ago, the staff have been friendly and helpful. As I've always stayed a full week, and have stayed there several times, I feel I can judge them fairly.”

• Nice courtyard fountain area, clean and tidy.
• No air-conditioning, afraid to open downstairs windows - questionable neighborhood.

“Although this motel is only 4 blocks from the boardwalk, the neighborhood is less than inviting to walk through, especially at night. We visited during a warm spell, and there is no air conditioning, so we didn't sleep very well. The beds aren't terribly comfortable, either. It served our basic needs, but wasn't what I would have expected for the price. Adequate, but nothing more.”

• NOTHING

“IT WAS GREAT. I'VE STAYED THERE BEFORE AND LIKE IT. IT'S CLOSE ENOUGH TO WALK TO THE BEACH AND THE BOARDWALK.”
