• Friendly staff tried to accommodate, but with extra $.
• Small parking lot spaces. potential dings on your car.

“We stayed two nights in Santa Cruz. The first night we came in late but with extra $ were still given a room w/2beds. It sure was a lot better than the much higher rated Inn at Passionating, we switched to the next night. especially considering the price we paid.”

• Close to the resort where I was attending a wedding. Other than that I liked nothing about this hotel or it's pricing.
• Above all, the cost of a room was ludicrous . There was nothing positive about this hotel, the room was sub par at best.

“This was really a motel, not a hotel. It was less than 1 star and nothing about the room or amenities justified the cost. It didn't even have hot water. I am extremely unsatisfied by the price.”

• The breakfast was a pleasant surprise - my girls love the make your own waffles.
• The hotel pool did not require a key card to get in; very close to street.

“Overall, for the price paid, it was better than expected. We felt the breakfast was great, especially considering the hotel amenities don't even mention a breakfast included. There were only two towels in the room, and none available for the pool; however, when I requested additional towels, they gave me three more without any questions.”

• It was across the street from a great restaurant. The Fuji Buffet.
• Overpriced for the amenities. Will never stay again.

“This hotel was a motel. The staff was nice but not overly friendly. The continental breakfast seemed an afterthought with a very small selection to choose from. The parking lot was oddly shaped and difficult to maneurver. The room was okay except the ceilings were very thin and we heard the child upstairs running back and forth. The next night we heard the construction workers every time they got up to use the restroom. The pool was not heated but otherwise okay, very small.”

• It was inexpensive and in a good location for my needs.
• The room wasn't as dark as I hoped and the pillows were lumpy.

“The hotel itself was clean and nice for a short stay. The room itself was not as dark at night as I hoped and the pillows were lumpy, but the bed itself was okay. For a two-star hotel, it was sufficient for my needs at the time.”

“It was not the fault of the hotel that we were displeased with our stay. From past experiences, we had anticipated that a Ramada Inn would be a pleasant nicely appointed lodge. It was indeed a motel with a small room and no amenities for the cost. Never again.”

“Very dirty and grimy. Old and run down, do not be roomed by the new paint on the buildings. The bathrooms were gross and we had ants by the next morning. We could hear everything through the walls and the sheets were dirty. The hotel staff was rude.”

• Swamp cooler was noisy. Paper thin towels.

“While 2 stars seemed a bit generous at first, compared to some other hotels in Santa Cruz it was appropriate. In all fairness it did seem clean and safe. Beds were comfy. Free WiFi is nice. They could upgrade their towels. The hotel seemed to be freshly painted outside and was well kept.”

“Clean, good location, would be a nice economy hotel if the owners cared about whether their guests actually could sleep or not. They do not have anyone patrolling at night and there were loud parties everywhere including in the parking lot. When we crossed the parking lot in the morning there were broken beer bottles everywhere.”

• The location is good.
• The hotel had a weird smell to it, not bad just weird.

“I had a nice stay at the Ramada. All hotels in Santa Cruz get pretty pricy, but this one was doable. The only thing that kind of threw me off was a strange smell, it smelled like an air freshener gone wrong, but it was nothing major.”

• It had a good location, and I got a good price for the hotel.
• They wanted $20 more for a two bed room. They had lots of rooms.

“I read a lot of negative reviews for this hotel, and was scared of what I'd find. What I found was an adequate hotel that was comparable to other small hotels in the Santa Cruz area. People don't go to Santa Cruz to hang out in hotel rooms, and this was a good place to sleep and lodge. It had a small refrigerator, microwave, 32 inch TV, ironing board, iron, coffee machine, and a blow dryer. The shower had a shower massage that worked on 3 settings. The internet was free. So was the continental breakfast.”

“I would not choose to stay here again. The interior, (rooms) were not clean enough nor comfortable. The toilet seat was way to close to the wall. We typically stay at a 3 star and this is way down the list. Perhaps a 1.5 star.”

“Okay for what we needed. Taking older kids to see UC Santa Cruz. Was able to get 2 rooms. Room smelled like room freshener and unattractive green carpeting that was not too clean. Bed okay but pillows not comfortable. Staff was helpful with an early breakfast. Okay value for the price - a place to put one's head for the night. Would go there again when on a budget.”

• It was nice we loved it my daughter and I found the location perfect for our plans. We walked from the hotel to the boardwalk, close to downtown.
• There was nothing that I did not like. We, my daughter and I love to visit Santa Cruz allot. I want to stay in that hotel all the time we visit.

“Hotel worker was very friendly and love the free breakfast served in the hotel lobby. Yummy Belgum waffles. Nice rooms.”

• The location was perfect, I had to go to court.
• The staff was unfriendly, nosey and penny pinching, had to pay for extra hour past checkout.

“The Ramada Limited was under construction that caused dirt and dust as well as disarray. The staff was rude and unsocial. When we were a little late past checkout we had to pay additional charges by the hour. I wouldn't want to stay there again.”

“Not a two star. Shower head and ceiling in bathroom were moldy; bathroom fan was loud. Worst was the party in room next door -- a woman and her two small children who were either an emergency homeless placement or worse, judging by the two guys who kept coming and going all night in their Cadillac Escalade.”

• Clean, friendly staff, great price, very close to downtown/
• Could use a better television and coffee pot.

“I enjoyed my stay, it was much nicer than I expected. Five minutes from downtown, ten minutes from the beach. Great proximity to highways. Great restaurants close by, both for watching your wallet or for fine dining. Pool was clean, room was acceptable. Convenient mini fridge. I'll be back!”

“While the hotel is in the process of painting the facility, it reminds me of putting lipstick on a donkey. This should never be rated as a 2 star hotel. Noise, bed, furniture, friendliness, upkeep are all in line with a super economy hotel. It was fairly clean, just uncomfortable.”
