• Beautiful flowers outside rooms.
• Moldy shower heads, broken faucet, shower flooded, and there were hair (not ours) on cups.

“We arrived at hotel at 2:30, there was not a single car in the parking lot and no housekeeping outside of rooms cleaning, yet we were told we could not check in till 3:00. We weren't trying to get a free half hour out of them, just a place to put our bags! We left the next morning well before check out time so they are the ones who made out in the deal! Beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom was horrible! Water damage on the roof of bathroom made me feel that the roof would crash down at any minute! Shell out the extra 40.00 and book something better, you will be MUCH happier you did!”

• It was OK, A little old and out dated, was clean, afforadable.
• Did not like the upstairs, we had alot of luggage to carry. We asked if we could have the downstairs but could'nt.

• One of the housekeepers was pleasant.

“The hotel manager was rude. They declined to change our sheets regularly and said it was due to local municipal code. One of the housekeeping ladies was rude as well. The other was nice. It seemed as though the manager was hounding them to finish quickly and cut corners. The OJ machine did not work. I am not one to proactively complain but this deserved an accurate review.”

• Front desk employee was very friendly and helpful. Trees and plants gave it a very relaxing atmosphere.
• Not very much counter space in bathroom.

“The young man at the front desk gave us excellent advice about the area so we had no problems getting around. The room was nice and included a refrigerator and small coffee maker with everything to make coffee or tea. We really liked having the wireless internet service since we brought a laptop. The location was great and the landscaping and motel exterior was delightful.”

• It was clean, economical and in a convenient location.
• Just one trash bin, single ply bath tissue.

“This motel is fine for economy lodging. The room was clean and the furnishings adequate, although slightly on the Spartan side. Convenient location with just short drives to freeways, beach, dining, downtown. The complementary continental breakfast featured a small, but adequate selection. Overall, we'll probably return.”

“This is a very old hotel, but they have done a good job maintaining it. The beds were very comfortable and pillows were good. Linens were exceptionally clean as were the rooms and bathroom. I would stay there again the next time I'm looking for somewhere to sleep.”

“The hotel was down trodden. The staff was rude - they asked how many people I had, to which I replied 4 and they said that they were going to charge me extra. We were back at the hotel in the late afternoon (around 3 pm) to give my 2 year old son a nap and the housecleaning staff seemed irritated that the room was not vacant so they could clean it. I'm sorry - I must have missed the sign that said I couldn't use my room during the day. The pool was unheated and so cold as to be unusable. The toilet ran constantly. The room looked and felt old and unclean. Overall, a very poor experience - we will not be returning to this hotel on future visits to Santa Cruz.”

• While we had parking at the hotel, to walk to the beach or downtown we were really too far away.

“The hotel was decent but the staff was horrible. They were rude and unhelpful. My friend has a serious back problem and they would not provide any pillows for her. I am not happy at all and dont even plan on going to Santa Cruz any time soon.”

• Very quiet, clean and simple superb shower and tub lots of hot water and towels owner very kind.
• TV volume would go on and off no fruit for breakfast.

“Extremely satisfied customer the service was perfect. The rooms very clean and perfect if you are one who gets out a lot. we were hardly there more out having fun on our trip. I will always book my stay with the quality inn. It was my second stay and i have not one bad thing to really complain about and I am a neat freak and do like it quiet with no seedy visitors around nice people. great for a good night sleep.”

• The staff was outstanding.
• The room was a little old and rundown.

“They staff at this hotel were very helpful, at all hours of the day and night. I was very comfortable with them. Wish more hotels were staffed with these people. The room was a little rundown. It is an older hotel and still a budget priced hotel so it was to be expected. My only complaint would really be the shower. The shower head was a multi function head, but it was broken. It was stuck between message and spray. And the pressure was really poor. But again, overall, for the price, an excellent place to stay in Santa Cruz.”

“The room was large, and had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. It was totally smoke free which was great, however there was no hot water at all. We all took cold showers. We waited for the hot water for 45 min. and realized we were not going to get any. It was a drag!”

• The room was clean and didn't smell like stale smoke like so many other hotel "non smoking" rooms do.
• It wasn't the most attractive looking place.

“This hotel was perfect for the quick overnighter that we had. Although it wasn't romantic and I wouldn't recommend it for vacations, it was great for those like who want a clean place to stay the night, and are on a budget. The room was fine, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was also clean. As I mentioned before, it didn't smell like smoke and seemed to truly be a non smoking room. I would definitely go back for another overnight stay.”

• They did not come to clean the rooms till very late (4 p.m.). As we were back for the afternoon - we did not get our room cleaned.

“I felt good about this place. It was a good value and easy to find right off the freeway. It was clean and kept up. I would really not recommend this place for someone on vacation. We were there for my daughter's orientation for college. For that purpose- it was excellent. Really more for business travelers or an overnight stay.”

• If you are just looking for a place to sleep it was ok.
• The queen size beds & pool were not as advertised. The rooms were in poor condition.

“This motel would be ok if all you need is a place to sleep & on a budget. The photo of the pool is extremely deceptive; it is the size of a small sauna. The advertised queen size beds are the size of a double bed. When I complained about the beds they got very defensive & insisted the beds are "California queens". The room was old with sticky carpets, peeling wall paper, mold in the bathroom, an abandoned wall heater remains in room. The owner did come to our room & tried to smooth things over and the beds did turn out to be comfortable. I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone unless nothing else was available.”

• It had a fridge, microwave, and walking distance to the Santa Cruz diner & grog shop.
• The shower temp went from scalding hot to freezing cold every 30 seconds.

“It was decent for a one night stay. The remote on the TV didn't work and the shower temp fluctuated wildly. The beds felt cheap. But. It was in a good location for food and beverage, and not far from the boardwalk. The owner was a lovely, kind woman, and made you feel welcome.”

“The hotel was ok. Nothing too exciting. The wallpaper could do with some replacement. The worse past was hearing fire engine sirens all night. I'm pretty sure we were close to a fire station. The showers were nice and roomy, but the pressure in the shower could be used to put a fire out. The staff was nice and helpful when I was having internet issues.”

“I have stayed at the Quality Inn over 6 times. It is always clean, accommodating, with very friendly staff. The grounds are so pretty with flowers and flower boxes on the railing. The continental breakfast is very good, too! I will return again, as long as it is under the same management.”

• The flowers around the pool and hanging outside the rooms were pretty.
• The wall paper is coming apart at the seams! hotel manager had to check the room before we left, Weird we left, weird!

“The wallpaper is dirty and falling off in some places. The view is the back of the hotel next door. It was not a place I would have stayed if I had a choice to do it over. The location was good, but that's about it.”

• It was easy to find.
• Value, Cleanliness, amenities, soundproofing was unsatisfactory.

“I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. We could have paid less and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express that had newer rooms and better amenities. The wallpaper in our room was peeling. The toilet roll fell off the handle because the handle was broken. There was a coffee maker in the room but no coffee. People in the next room were talking normal, but because the walls were thin or without insulation, we could hear every word. We had a late check-in, so when we got there all we wanted to do was get some sleep. The refrigerator and microwave oven were unplugged so when we plugged the refrigerator in, it made so much noise it was hard to fall asleep. When we spoke to the desk clerk about the fridge being unplugged, he said they normally leave it unplugged because medicine of the guests were freezing. The guests should plug it in and adjust the temperature themselves. I absolutely would NOT recommend this hotel to anybody.”

• It is ok for an other night stay.
• It reminded me above dives you see on movies. It was clean.

“The hotel had a microwave, coffee and a recliner in my room. It is an older hotel or motel and quiet with most of the rooms being off of the street. The price was good for a place to stay overnight.”
