• The staff was great and hotel room was new and very clean.

“This hotel had great service and nice, clean rooms. It is in Scotts Valley which is about 15 to 20 minutes to the beach.”

• Room size, balcony, comfortable beds.
• Room service schedule was limited.

“This is a good place to stay with children if you are visiting Santa Cruz. It is about a 15 minute drive to the Boardwalk. The pool is small but fine and the beds are very comfortable. All amenities such as soda and candy were reasonably priced. Room/restaurant service is only operated at certain hours, otherwise you have to leave the hotel. I thought it was fine for the price. Santa Cruz has notoriously expensive yet mediocre lodging so this was as good a value as you are going to get.”

• The entrance says it all. Staff was very helpful. Perfect location to see Santa Cruz but secluded.
• The elevator was slow. That is really the only thing I could come up with.

The rooms are lovely, spacious and you are literally perched between the forest and the highway that goes directly to the heart of Santa Cruz. If you're looking to get away and enjoy amazing city culture and relaxing forest confines this is your place!”

• Good location, right off the freeway. Very spacious rooms, clean and comfortable.
• Hot breakfast buffet was pricey.

• Quality bedding. Soft sheets and pillows.
• Need 'housekeeping, please make up this room' signs.

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had to call them repeatedly to inform them our arrival was being delayed by holiday traffic. They assured me someone would be there to check us in and that it was no problem. The room was comfortable, clean and attractive. The bedding makes a hotel for me and this one had quality sheets and pillows. I loved the view of the pines from our room. I would stay there again.”

“The hotel was gorgeous and the staff made us very welcomed. They had sparkling cigar in our room waiting for our arrival. It was our 18th Wedding anniversary and they just added that warm touch to our stay.”

• Price of Restaurant for the low quality, overpriced necessities.

“Staff did not know what to charge for Beer at the guest services store, and when they did figure it out it was $ 4.00 more then the same Beer at the Hotel Bar.”

• Wasn't impressed at all.
• No DVD players, no working blender at the lounge, outdated environment.

“We have stayed at both expensive and inexpensive hotels. It was out dated and stuffy like an old Reno Hotel.”

• Clean and close to Santa Cruz
• Cramped. There was nothing luxurious about our room. I was trying to pamper myself and got a room with wheel chair access shower instead of a tub.

“An attractive hillside location is initially appealing. If the guest does not wish to dine in the hotel, a 5-10 minute car ride into Santa Cruz can be expected. We cycle and were disappointed with the bike lanes near the hotel. We needed to load up our bikes and travel to another location to begin our rides.”

• The parking was not planned well. It is a long walk to the lobby.

• Staff was friendly.
• Was not a 3 star, was falling apart.

“It was all right for a Hilton, would not consider it a 3 star hotel. The room was typical, the pictures were hung way too low. The bathroom was nice sized, but the faucet in the shower was about to fall out and the water pressure was horrible. The hot tub was more of a chlorine bath than a hot tub. Might stay there again if price wasn't so high.”

• Gorgeous setting with a nice pool and very helpful staff.
• Scotts Valley is not a very interesting place in and of itself.

“This hotel is in a serene and beautiful setting and has lots of amenities for the traveling family. The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating.”

• I didn't like the tile in the room. My grandson was with me and it was very slippery for him to walk on without shoes.

• very nice pool and hot tub. East to get to.
• Food in the restaurant was expensive and poor. Price was too high for the room

“The mattresses were hard and the blankets thin. the pillows were hard and uncomfortable. the steak sandwich which was very over priced in the restaurant was too tough to eat. ”
