- Great hotel in business area.
“Thia is a fine choice for the business traveler. The Hotel is very well located close to restaurants and many businesses. Rooms are large and clean with good areas to just relax and do a little office work.”

- It is a convenient location.
- Hotel insisted I pay an extra $20 to get a room with 2 queen size beds.
“This hotel has gone down hill. Charging for accommodating guest requests like this is annoying. Good hotels don't do this. They also don't give hand lotion in the bathrooms. The breakfast coffee no longer comes with biscotti.”

- Hotel room wall is really thin.
“Horrible! We woke up in the middle of the night since some young (drunk) folks are having a party in the next room. Called front desk, problem finally got resolved after 30 minutes and 3 phone calls to the front desk. Room is small, comforter looks dirty, but the sheets are okay.”

- Contemporary decor, location, near many restraunts and shops, yet not unpleasantly so.
- Due to a large wedding at the hotel parking when we reurned in the evening was a problem, I suggested them that t holiday parties should be addressed.
“Very nice boutique hotel, a little difficult to find the entrance but once there very pleasant, no pool so maybe nt always right for families. Great exercise facility.”

“Great boutique-type hotel with many big hotel features. Everything was great, except the restaurant. Plenty of other places to eat nearby, but would be nice if the restaurant was better managed. No pool on site, but one is available nearby.”

- The evening wine hour was a nice touch, as well as the morning coffee.
- The pool was shared with some other apartments and no hot tub.
“Very nice luxury hotel and very quiet on the weekend we stayed there. The staff was very friendly and seemed too really care about the guests comfort. The biggest draw back was no hot tub and the pool was shared and a couple of minutes walk from the hotel; not really a big deal, except a hotel employee needed to escort you. The afternoon cookies and evening wine reception is a nice addition and the server was very helpful with dinner recommendations. Morning coffee was also nice, but it could have been offered longer.”

- Had to use roll-away bed. Holes in sheets.
“Room with two queen beds wasn't ready when we arrived at 10 p.m. Front desk promised 15 minutes until ready. An hour later, it still wasn't ready and we were told it would be at least 45 minutes more until it was ready. Apparently, no one on staff was available to clean the room after the last guests, despite the 11 a.m. check out time. At nearly midnight, we gave up and settled for the offered room with one queen bend and a roll-away bed. The roll-away was brought to our room. The sheets used had numerous holes. This hotel is not ready for prime time.”

- It had a nice big LCD flat screen TV.
- The TV did not have high definition cable. The windows were inoperable.
“The Cypress is a nicer hotel than you would expect to find in a suburban office park-dominated suburb like Cupertino. The furnishings and bathroom finishes are impressively upscale and tasteful -contemporary styled, but not modern. The biggest faults I could find with the guestrooms are that the windows do not open and the bathroom has a pocket door (a hotel bathroom should always have a real door).”

“This boutique hotel was wonderful and I would definitely stay there again! I loved the fashion chic decor and the bed was incredibly comfortable. There were luxurious L'Occitane products to use in the bathroom and free wireless Internet. The restaurant featured all natural foods that were fabulous - it felt like a spa getaway on my week long business trip.”

“An inexpensive hotel, an odd blend of Contemporary American hotel trying to be Italian? It's styled to be luxurious without being intimidating. Food is expensive but inventive and presented in a manner that you would not expect to find in a hotel restaurant. Slightly better than standard amenities with nice complimentary offered morning (coffee & tea), noon (warm chocolate chip cookies) and night (nightly wine party). Friendly though somewhat inexperienced staff is attentive and willing to go the extra mile, not effortlessly but with enough charm to make me want to come back.”

- I loved the design and style. House keeping was kind and efficient. I wish I stayed longer than one night.
- We arrived at 4 am and none of the 4 people up front greeted us until I spoke. Everyone just stared, not a great welcome.
“As stated above my welcome was not great. After a 7 hour drive and arriving so early in the morning I would have prefered a little more professionalism and dare I say a greeting when we arrived. Other than that the staff the next night as well as house keeping was kind, generous, and inviting. I really enjoyed the room.”

- The inconvenience of the installation of new furnishings and carpet.
“It has always been my experience that when a floor is being renovated they do not rent out the rooms on that floor. Unfortunately during the day you had to dodge new beds, hutches and rolls of carpeting to get into the elevators. I was on the 9th floor so using the staircase was not an option.”

“We are always greeted like we are super stars and the staff is so attentive and friendly, even though we are always dressed casually and rarely bring more than a backpack for luggage. When I mentioned it was my boyfriend's birthday, we were upgraded to a junior suite, which was wonderful and a birthday gift in itself. There is also always a prom or wedding happening in the ballroom and we have fun observing the attendees throughout our stay. No complaints! We love staying here and it's walking distance to our favorite restaurants.”

- The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable.
- I was placed next to an air conditioning unit although I asked for a quiet room. It was like trying to sleep on a jet engine. Horrible.
“I requested a quiet location since I was giving a presentation early the next morning. I was given a very noisy room, a loud fan that could not be shut off. I could not sleep, but when I called to complain at midnight, they quickly moved me to a quieter room. Room service was not available until 8 A.M., and for a business traveler, that just doesn't work well. Otherwise, a nice hotel.”

- Hands down the best service and most accommodating staff!
- Bar and restaurant closed for remodeling.
“I would stay at the Cypress anytime I could. I would also highly recommend it. The staff was amazing, from the excellent reception, wait staff and everyone else. I love the evening wine, apples at the desk, and a great little gym with excellent equipment. The rooms are extremely comfortable and I love the eclectic ambiance. Free parking is a great plus.”

- The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly and always available.
- Parking garage had very tight spaces.
“We traveled with our two grandchildren and were very impressed with the trendy, upscale decor. The staff greeted us on arrival and offered help. The second night when we asked for directions to a theater they brought up a map quest with directions, times and phone numbers to our room. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.”

- The staff was wonderful. They went out of their way to be friendly & helpful without forcing it.
- We found a wad of hair clinging to the decorative pillow on the bed. We did not tell them.
“We were there for a one night stay. We are from the area so it was great to try out a local hotel. The staff is just amazing. They really show how much they care. They are very friendly and accommodating. It was a treat and we have already highly recommended this hotel.”

- Nice amenities, nice wine reception.
- Refusal to give us two beds when they had plenty (they were being refurbished).
“The Cypress is a classy hotel with glitzy. The first glitch was that we were told we could have two beds; they were sold out. They wanted $20 for a rollaway bed. Second glitch is we arrived to find the room disabled equipped, which means the bath area was not good. I called down and they apologized. They called back. I said I'd stay there and there offered to comp the rollaway. Later, I discovered several rooms with two beds unoccupied. They were being refurbished. The restaurant also was closed and the staff were hit or miss about knowing the area. Final glitch was that they didn't send our wake-up call until 40 minutes after the appointed time. It's a good thing one of us woke up early.”

- The decorating and furniture were very new and very fun.
- There was no hot tub.
“This hotel was first rate. From the leopard print robes to the granite top bathroom counters, everything was immaculate. The beds were comfy and room controlled heating was quiet and efficient. The pool is a two-minute walk away from the hotel. Although this hotel caters mostly to business travelers, it makes a lovely weekend destination for families.”

- No perfume sometimes used to cover up smoking from years past.
- The view from my room was into a business complex; soap to perfume.
“I loved the luxurious tiger themed room. The temperature control was accurate and easy to use. The registration desk personnel were relaxed and very friendly! I felt safe walking at night to the nearby shopping area. A wonderful surprise after a long drive from the long beach area.”

- You need to go to the hotel desk to request upgrade.
“This is one of the best new hotels in the South Bay! It was my wedding night, and the hotel brought us a complementary bottle of wine and chocolates and a nice note. I would highly recommend this hotel to any business/leisure traveler.”
