“The hotel was clean and the staff was attentive and very courteous. With the exception of a few noises that kept us from getting a good night's rest, we were pleased with our experience.” Mar 1, 2009 by
John from Fresno,CA
“A very nice property with helpful staff. During several stays at this property, I have never had a single poor experience.” Feb 9, 2009 by

“It's true that valet parking is mandatory and costs $19 a day not including the usual $2 - $4 a day tip. While the attendants were very friendly, I would've preferred to park my own car. I left my phone in it and couldn't get it because I had no idea where the car was parked. I had to wait until they could find the time to go and get it for me. The room was a king room, not the suite so it was smaller than some of the other hotels we've been in. The food was over priced and because it's supposed to be healthy, normal things like sausage, didn't taste like sausage. The chicken wrap tasted like dirt. The location wasn't too bad. There's a nice walking trail that will take you into downtown Walnut Creek but it's a hike. The fitness club isn't just for hotel guests so it's always packed. People were waiting to get on treadmills. My husband said he would stay there again.” Jan 6, 2009 by
Kris from Park City,UT
“We always love to stay here. We are gym rats so the sports club attached to the hotel is the best! The BART station is just across the street, very convenient. Walnut Creek is a darling town, great shops, restaurants and entertainment for any age.” Dec 10, 2008 by
Bret from Vienna,VA
“World-class gym attached to the hotel.” Dec 2, 2008 by
Joseph from Marana,AZ
“Excellent hotel. Convenient location, clean and friendly. The facility is integrated with a Sports Club which has a gym, exercise and weight rooms.” Oct 13, 2008 by
Jeffrey
“Overall, this is one of my favorite hotels for business travel. It is tough to keep up on my physical fitness routine on the road. The Renaissance Club Sport makes it easy and enjoyable. It is as high of quality as the facility I belong to at home. The rooms are what I have come to expect from a higher end Marriott. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in the San Francisco East Bay area.” Oct 10, 2008 by
Melissa “We will return to this conveniently located and beautifully decorated hotel. What a lovely experience!” Oct 2, 2008 by
Phil
“Great place, good value and great experience.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Gary from Brentwood, CA
“Excellent hotel, good amenities especially the gym, late night dinner was excellent, walking distance to Bart.” Sep 8, 2008 by
Fred from Pleasant Hill, CA
“Beautiful hotel, with great health club/spa on the premises (included with room). Top Quality all the way. My only complaint is that the only parking is valet parking at a very high price.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Caitlyn from San Francisco, CA
“Great 24 hour stay! Used most of the facilities, restaurants and some services - all good. Really enjoyed everything. No views or balconies which we generally enjoy but services make up for that. Noon check-out was nice.” Sep 1, 2008 by
Bruce from Lincoln, CA
“The hotel is clean, well run, friendly, and obviously operated by professional who do an excellent job. Everything I experienced was top quality.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Kris from Park City, UT
“We have stayed here many time mainly because of the gym attached to the hotel. It is a great bonus to a gym rat couple who travel.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Lo from Wilmington, DE
“Great concept if you know anyone interested in blending hospitality and fitness. I had the opportunity to enjoy fitness classes that I would not usually take and equipment I have not used. My room was right above the children's play area so I know they had fun too. Excellent staff and good attention to the details that make a difference.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Andrew from Palo Alto, CA
“I normally would not have stayed at a 4-star hotel. Walnut Creek is not the most happening of places, but there is a nice little downtown area to explore as well as Mount Diablo State Park nearby. The hotel itself definitely lives up to it's 4-star rating. There is a very nice gym with tons of elliptical, treadmills and free weights. I didn't use the studio workout rooms or the basketball/volleyball courts though. The lockers were very posh and the Jacuzzi and sauna rooms were a plus, though the outdoor pools were a tad small for my taste. The only bad thing about this place is that there is required valet parking at either $15 or $18 per night (I think Friday and Saturday nights are $15 each and all other nights are $18).” Aug 4, 2008 by
Mel from Sioux Falls, SD
“A nice business hotel in the middle of Walnut Creek, CA. The sports center gives the lobby a sportive look and feel. The restaurant needs a lot of work on food and service.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Diane from Sparks, NV
“I have stayed at this hotel for several visits. The beds are very comfortable, the staff is always friendly, and it has a convenient location to Bart.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Jennifer from Marysville, CA
“This is the worst hotel I have stayed in. Check in time was 3:00 PM and we got there at 8:00 PM for them to tell us that the room is not ready because they had no linens for the beds.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Manny from Eureka, CA
“I would recommend this place to all, but families with kids will be delighted. We went without kids and enjoyed the facility immensely with special workouts, classes and massages keeping us happy.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Hien from San Diego, CA
“Awesome hotel in so many ways, but no fridge makes for when you stay longer a hassle. Valet parking only which is a hassle again if you are coming and going a lot.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Carrie from Westminster, CO
“This hotel would have been awesome for a business traveler who likes to eat granola and is fitness. The location wasn't suitable for my daughter and I who am 26.There was no food establishments located in or around the hotel. There was one snack place inside the hotel that served all health nut foods. Also, there was no self-serve parking. We had to valet each time we were to come back to the hotel. The shower they had was amazing and the room was nicely decorated. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families or leisure adults, only business people.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Brian from Auburn, WA
“Overall, a great place to stay, play and exercise. It has it all and is close to everything in the Bay Area. The only downfall was the wait staff in the restaurant. I was very impressed with the staff of the hotel and the fitness club. Very friendly and professional.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Deb from Alamo, CA
“Disappointed this time. Other times were much better.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Maureen from Yreka, CA
“Beautiful surroundings, luxury room and amiable staff made for a terrace stay.” May 31, 2008 by
Mary J. from Midland, MI
“Exceptionally convenient location -- to highway, to rapid transit, to Downtown Walnut Creek. The staff is also exceptionally responsive and very friendly. Facilities are excellent. You could live here comfortably for a while!” May 20, 2008 by
Stine from Benicia, CA
“This hotel only receives it's listed 4 star rating by its amenities; however, the quality is not significant. The rooms were supposedly remodeled but are already falling apart. Sheets are standard quality. Food is very expensive and not very competitive for its prices. Mandatory valet parking. The club is a community fitness club so there are allot of children with their parents you need to fight off in order to swim laps. Great basketball gym and staff are very helpful. There are no restaurants or bodegas nearby, so if you want to walk to get a bite to eat, you can't. Which means you have to get valet to pull your car out. The valet attendants were very prompt and helpful, but when I'm on a business trip, I'd like to be able to walk a few blocks to purchase a soda or a sandwich. The hotel's menu is way over-priced (breakfast $12, all you can eat breakfast $14, I just wanted a bowl of oatmeal and can't believe those prices are expected to be paid. If you are in the Walnut Creek/Pleasanton area, I would recommend the Marriot Pleasanton over this place. Better food, higher quality rooms, nice facilities, and mall nearby.” May 16, 2008 by
Gary from Bainbridge Island, WA
“A true 4 star hotel overall. Fine dining, great exercise facility, overnight parking was reasonable, location very nice.” May 6, 2008 by
Patrick from Rancho Cordova, CA
“A+, 5 star service and quality at a 4 star price. Perfect!” May 1, 2008 by
Lynn from Santa Cruz, CA
“It's a lovely place to stay if you don't need fresh air in the rooms, the air conditioner doesn't freshen the air unless you have it on very cold.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Leslie K. from Hercules, CA
“I cannot recommend this hotel enough to friends or family. I was very sick when I arrived, and they moved me to the top floor so I wouldn't hear walking above me. When the bell man took our stuff upstairs, he immediately went and got me ice, turned on the AC and put out the do-not-disturb sign for me. Unbelievable Service!” Apr 28, 2008 by
Dennis from Oakland, CA
“The Health club is top notch. The sauna was killer and the food was great. The bathroom in the room was great.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Jeanne from Buellton, CA
“The hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. What was really nice was as a guest of the hotel, you could use the sports facility. I took a swim in the pool later in the evening and the temperature of the water was nice and warm, very comfortable. I used the spa and dry sauna after my swim. Both were very nice. There were plenty of towels available and shampoo and conditioner in the showers. The locker rooms had supplies the guests could use such as hair dryers and q-tips. The locker room also had lockers that were coded; the quest did not need to keep track of a key. In enjoyed my stay.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Don from Round Rock, TX
“The hotel was very nice. The staff is excellent. The pools were warm so taking the kids swimming was much more enjoyable. I generally dislike Valet Parking as we are in and out 3-4 times a day. I decided I would leave one large tip the end of a three day stay and it didn't seem to reduce the level of service one bit. I also felt better about my wife and kids not having to walk through a parking lot in a strange city alone at night.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Phyllis from Lathrop, CA
“Made my trip so much more enjoyable because the staff had a friendly attitude and helpfulness that went above and beyond. And it was the entire staff. Even checking out, the bellman asked if we had picked up our phone charger and checked the closets. He did it in such a nice manner, that it felt like a friend helping another friend. Excellent!” Apr 15, 2008 by
Denise from Eureka, CA
“The accommodations at this hotel were beautiful and the staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area, but at 6:45 am I was awakened to the sound of a fire alarm buzzer and a voice telling me to evacuate my room immediately. It was a little unnerving but I understand the fire alarm is a protection mechanism so was more than happy to get out. I waited, along with other hotel guests, in the parking area for approximately 15 minutes and then someone came out and said it was okay to go back in as it was a false alarm. Again, I appreciate the safety measures in getting us up and out of the building, however, I was really looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday morning!” Apr 14, 2008 by
Vicky from Mesa, AZ
“This hotel was a great stop on a busy trip. The room was great and the bed perfect. I loved the workout facilities. Just a great place to unwind before having to hit the pavement running.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Hien from San Diego, CA
“This hotel is awesome.” Apr 7, 2008 by
Eric from Mayfield Village, OH
“This is a brand new hotel and if you are looking for the ultimate workout facility while you travel this is the place to go. Parking is an issue; they force you to Valet at $18 per night.” Mar 31, 2008 by
John from Lafayette, CA
“Excellent facility, nice rooms, great health club, bad parking arrangement - valet only $18 per night.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Dania from Santa Maria, CA
“The hotel was very nice, luxurious and relaxing. Awesome place for the entire family, I would so definitely stay there again.” Mar 28, 2008 by
Maureen from Yreka, CA
“Excellent hotel with lots of luxury extras. Great location, close to freeway and Bart. Very comfortable accommodations all around.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Ron from Marion, IA
“The hotel is very good. Great fitness center and swimming pool. No parking available. Parking fee is very expensive. Service was great.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Susan from Weston, MA
“Like a mini-"W" hotel without the big price! Wonderful, central location. An outstanding staff and I mean everyone I had contact with went out of their way to make me happy. Very nice amenities esp., the gym which rivals the "Equinox" in South Beach, Boston and Newport Beach for its decor, cleanliness and serious weights and equipment. The spa was very nice and then you finished your day off with a pool side drink. All this at a very reasonable price. I consider this hotel to be almost a resort.” Mar 24, 2008 by
Jane from Eureka, CA
“The hotel was very quiet, the beds were cozy and comfy, the buffet breakfast, was bad! Maybe off the menu would be best. Gym access was great, very high tech equipment. Good staff.” Mar 22, 2008 by
Kelli from Houston, TX
“We enjoyed this hotel. The restaurant has healthy options as you would expect from a fitness center, and the service was excellent. Although Valet parking is the only option, the staff had our car ready every time we called within five minutes. If you like a modern hotel, with every fitness option available, this is your hotel.” Mar 22, 2008 by
Mari from Sumner, WA
“The spa and pool area were wonderful.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Gary from San Jose, CA
“Probably wouldn't go to a 4-star again. Staff was very good. Add-on costs were what I was trying to avoid with the discount.” Mar 15, 2008 by
Lisa from Sparks, NV
“Beautiful hotel from the moment you walked in. Child of 8 loved the pool, child of 11 said he wanted it deeper. Only goes to 4 ft. They both loved the big gym to play basketball. Locker room was supplied with lotions, and combs, towels, shampoo, soaps, etc. Could've been a little more private in dressing areas. Breakfast was way overpriced and so was the valet. I don't think they had regular parking. The staff was always friendly.” Feb 24, 2008 by
Nicole from Simi Valley, CA
“It is very clean and organized. The staff is very friendly. Like that we are allowed to use the gym and classes.”
