• Timely elevators, clean room, great shower, very quiet and could not hear neighbors.
• Valet parking extra, would have rather parked ourselves.

• Staff was super friendly and efficient.
• The food for room service was poor and misrepresented in the menu.

“Very personable staff, from front desk to valet park - all extremely polite and efficient. Very spacious comfortable rooms, poor quality room service - tea ordered was not hot, Scottish smoked salmon was not Scottish at all (was Pacific), and old. My USA today was taken from outside my door.”

• The bathrooms were incredible.
• The beds were a bit small.

“This was a pretty darn good hotel, especially for the price. The bathrooms were incredibly well-appointed and the room looked quite elegant. The facilities were ok, but since it is also a health club, extremely busy. The only reason this hotel does not get my full support is because on our last day there, my wife slipped and fell on wet marble coming out of the elevator. The staff was not at all compassionate or concerned for her safety when informed of the dangerous situation.”

“We have actually stayed here a number of times but this time was bad. Maid knocking at door early and started to come in. Tub didn't drain, had to take the drain apart, and rips in sheets, very bad service at restaurant.”

• The variety of swimming pools and the extended hours of use.

• It looks modern.
• Staff is always busy when you need help. They gave you shampoo when you asked for conditioner.

“We need to wait for 30 minutes to check in. We asked for a King bed, but a 2-double was given, so we need to change it. Room smells strange and there is no view at all. We asked for conditioners but they gave us conditioners.”

• Did not meet 4-star rating. Rooms too small. Parking cost more than room.

“Very disappointed. Was seeking 4-star king bed deluxe suite for romantic weekend. Received queen bed small room with only 3 feet or less of space on each side of bed & not a suite with sitting or living space. No place/space to eat room service meals. No parking! On premises or off street. Forced to use valet parking @ $30 a day! First impression of room was that of a newly made over motel 6. In fact motel 6 has more living space. Very disappointed and did not stay more than 5 minutes & requested room change.”

• The check in desk is minimal. It should have a regular sized check in desk.

“Other than the requirement for valet parking (at $15 per day surcharge), my stay at the hotel was excellent. I would definitely stay there again. I would like to see the hotel provide a self park option for greater convenience and economy.”

• Rooms were very hip, well appointed and gym was excellent.
• No walking access to services off-site, i.e. Other restaurants or cocktail lounges.

“Great hotel - young, hip, but also family friendly. The gym benefits and classes, pool etc. Were a great benefit. All the eating establishments had very well prepared but healthy, upscale California spa preparation. It was an excellent place to bring children or grandchildren, but as a single person, I wasn't annoyed by noise or chaos from the kids.”

• The room was beautiful with a comfortable bed and nice bathtub and shower.
• Valet only. It was not conducive to getting things in and out of your car while everyone is waiting for you.

“This hotel is very upscale, and beautiful. The room was beautifully decorated with a big, comfortable bed. The bathroom was much nicer than most hotels I have stayed at. It had a large shower, with a nice bathtub and two shower heads. It was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that the hotel was valet only. My wife and I were on our way to camp in Northern California, so we had our car completely packed with supplies. Once we found out it was valet only, we drove to a nearby grocery store to try and get out exactly what we needed for the night, and put it on our laps so that we could get out of our car right away. Otherwise, everyone would have been waiting 30 minutes for us in the middle of the driveway.”

“This is a great place to go if you like to work out, want a quiet place to rest after business, if you like to work out or especially if you have kids. I came there as a business traveler with a baby and found, to my delight, that they have childcare. If you are a guest in the hotel, you can leave any child over 6 months old at the childcare for $5 an hour for up to 3 hours! Every day! It was a nice break for me. The food is good. The people couldn't be more friendly and helpful. And it is a beautiful, nice place, where they think of lots of extras like an apple in your room and very cushy beds with down comforters. I highly recommend it!”

• It combined my favorites a spa and gym with healthy menu and a kids club with extended hours.
• A less expensive parking alternative for guests of guests. Valet is expensive if someone is just visiting you for a few hours.

“My 7 year old daughter and I were on a trip visiting relatives in the area. I could have just stayed at the hotel because it had all of my favorites. There is a very decent fitness center with everything you could want. (Someone was circulating with water for those on cardio machines when I was there.) The outside pools are fabulous because they have a large pool with lanes for lap swimmers, a baby pool AND a mid-size kids pool to keep the rambunctious set out of the adult pool. Food was much better than I expected and I actually felt I was eating healthy. The kids club is open from 8am to 8pm during our visit meaning your workout really could be at any time. I wish there was a facility like this near where we live because I would join.”

Disappointing when you have small children with you. The room was a standard hotel room but the decor is awesome! Loved the bathroom sink and tub, everything was very clean.”

• The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was very clean.
• Staff was helpful but not very friendly.

“The hotel was conveniently located near Bart which was a plus if you were doing business in SF or traveling there for leisure. It was also just a short drive to the downtown shopping area of walnut creek. It was a quiet, safe and extremely comfortable place to stay. It was a health club plus hotel so if you so desired you could take full advantage of their extensive equipment and pools. Their room service menu was also very health oriented. The only negative thing I would have to say was that the staff was not very friendly.”

• Fitness integrated to all parts in the hotel. Big & deluxe bathroom. Free Deluxe fitness center use. Delicious & reasonable restaurant/deli on site.
• No balcony can't open the window. Curtain doesn't shut off sun light completely. Valet parking is mandatory.

“This is one of the finest hotels in east bay area. Overall, good points far exceed bad points. The atmosphere is family oriented rather than romantic. The restaurant/deli is reasonably priced and had wonderful healthy delicious menus. The huge sports club is free to use for hotel guests and Jacuzzi/steam sauna in the locker room is a huge bonus. The pool area is also huge and very good for family. The room is a little bit smaller for 4 star hotel, but bathroom is good size and very bright. The bath tub is long and deep enough to relax. Shower has double heads and bathroom sink is on the glass top and looks very sophisticated. To be fair, I need to point out a few minuses. The window in the room can't be opened, thus you can't breath outside air in the room.”

• Unique design and incredible exercise and spa facilities, unfortunately was not able to use.
• I found it unbelievable that the only parking was valet- at $15/day! In a suburb this is ridiculous!

“Beautiful and unique hotel spa facility with a very attentive staff. The only downside was that valet parking was the only option and the charge was $15/day per vehicle. This negates the great price we got when we had 2 vehicles and had to pay to park. I expect this in a big city or near an airport, not in a suburban hotel.”
