• Great friendly staff
• The television was dark

“Just what I needed for my work trip. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. The fridge, microwave and sink were an added bonus. Hotel staff are the nicest I have experienced. I will stay here everytime I am in the area. Room finishes are a bit dated, but clean and not heavily worn. The television needs to be replaced.”

• Room has fridge and microwave.
• They had a plate of either pre-frozen or two day old boiled eggs for breakfast. Rubber and smell was off. Otherwise all okay, except TV loud.

“Contractors take off early in the morning with their trucks. Goofy people come in a bit late and sound off their doopy car horn alarms. So wear ear plugs and sleep better.”

• The exterior of the property was well maintained.

“If you do not want any luxury this is fine. It is clean and well maintained. The staff is good and helpful. Breakfast is well rounded for all tastes and the area is clean.”

• Great service. Quick friendly response. Quiet, nice breakfast set-up, guest laundry and dry cleaning services a real plus.
• TV channels, need more diversity. Sci-Fi channel, history channel etc. Minor hard water deposit in toilet, corrected immediately.

“Overall stay was very great. The staff and management were exceptional. The continental breakfast was good, included a make your own waffle set-up. Nice touch. Fast wireless internet connection was a real plus. I will make this my hotel for future trips to Hayward, E.B.”

• The free breakfast was very good.
• The comforter was stained and bathroom grout was dirty.

“For the money and the location this hotel served its purpose. We were satisfied with the overall cleanliness and friendly staff. Their free breakfast was excellent. Especially the homemade waffles!”

• Free continental breakfast, free wireless internet connection, convenient location.
• You hear a lot of noise from the street and outside, poor sound insulation.

“Good free continental breakfast, easy access from freeways. Decent staff. You hear all the noises from Mission Blvd. and outside and we woke up several times at night, probably because of thin walls.”

• The first time I stayed it was pleasant, this time it was not.
• The manager.

“This is my second stay at this hotel. I called ahead and requested double beds and I was told it could be arranged. When I got there, manager was extremely rude and argumentative when I told her I needed double beds. I told her I had stayed there before and had double beds for the same price, she questioned me as to when I was there, why and with who. I am never going back there again.”

• Felt very unsafe, rough neighborhood, open to street, older.

“This Hotel is overrated at 2.5 stars. I'd say 1.5 max. Staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms clean but older, burns on bedspread, etc, had to pull furniture to plug stuff in, wireless was good, creepy, rough neighborhood, hotel is open to the street and I saw no security guards. "Sure you don't want a second floor room like everyone else?" if that tells you anything.”

• The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good.
• Shower had hair, linens had lint, bedspread was stained, and bathroom door did not close.

“Clearly the owners are trying to keep up but I think the clientele might be a bit rough on the rooms. The rooms are much nicer than the location suggests, but they were not as clean as expected and minor issues like the bathroom door not closing added to the detractions. Breakfast was good.”

• Room felt dirty especially the bathroom black mildew around tub dried something on the lighted mirror afraid to touch it yuk!

“I have been in allotting of hotels all across this Nation 5 star plus to el cheap o I would not stay in this hotel again if I were in the area. There are allot of better hotels and that is where I will stay next time. This was the first time to this area for me so I really had nothing to go on as far as what was available.”

“When I arrived with my two children, I was told that only rooms with one queen bed were available. I was charged additional fees for a room with two queen beds, and was told that another folding bed could not be used in the room.”

• This was a remodeled motel so everything was pretty fresh.
• Our bed covering had some stains on it but they came and got it and returned it cleaned.

“The staff was very friendly. Hotel stay was overall very pleasant. Staff was very attentive. Continental breakfast was decent. A PC was available to us and that was helpful due to traveling.”

• I liked the staff. Not only friendly but extremely helpful about what to do in the area and directions to local attractions.
• The hotel is located on a one-way street. Personally, I don't find one way streets very user friendly.

“Hotel is close to Oakland airport, within 10 minutes of drive. It's also close to shopping and dining, all within 5 mile range. We spent most of our time in San Francisco; the drive took about 45 minutes to the city. We spent 3 days at this hotel and did not encounter the 'nightmare' Bay Area traffic everyone was warning us about. If you want to save money, feel safe, and sleep in comfort then stay in this hotel and drive to San Francisco.”

• The rooms were nice. The hotel staff were nice.
• The location was not the best. The area didn't seem to be all that safe.

“The hotel rooms were nice. Nice beds, ironing board and iron, bathrooms clean and nice. Good cable TV selection. The hotel has free internet which is also a nice feature. The outside had average motel looks with external doors. The only thing I did not like was the area, to me, it seemed to be in a rough area, possibly not the safest area in the neighborhood. I don't know the area, I am only going by the looks of the surrounding neighborhood. Other than that, this hotel was a good pick for a short layover. We were there for less than 12 hours. I would consider staying here again for a short layover, but not for a long one.”

• Eager extortionist porters, marginal toilet, balcony access and fear of heights.

“We were given the 3-star Hilton suites. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find free parking. Unfortunately when I sent 10-year-old son to get a luggage cart a porter trailed him and shadowed my family--embracing daughter, 14, once--up to our room and then stood awaiting a tip. That's part of the downside --you can't guarantee against upgrades to this type of hotel. Ten floors of rooms surround an atrium. Access to our 9th floor room was via a balcony that made me queasy watching family traverse. Room was a suite with queen in bedroom, hide-a-bed sofa in living room, and two TV's. Boys promptly found game cube on the TV menu, so we got charged $21 for that. Shuttle to Disneyland was $3 each.”

• Motor Court Motel, not a 2 1/2 star hotel.

“Decent Motel, very friendly staff. Not up to the usual 2 1/2 star rating. 2 1/2 usually is a Marriott Courtyard type hotel. This was Motor Court Motel. Hard beds, plastic cups, no restaurant.”

• The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even handed out a list of restaurants.
• Exterior corridors! I never would have stayed here. I am a female traveling alone on business. Did not feel safe, not a 2 1/2 star!

“Not the place to stay for female business travelers. Exterior corridors give anyone and everyone the ability to see where you are staying and access to the windows! The staff is excellent. The room was very spacious and clean. Only complaint about the interior, pillows very flimsy and only two. Towels were very thin.”

• The cleanliness and quality of the room exceeded me expectations in every respect, especially in comfort amenities.
• The breakfast room is rather small.

“I was traveling by myself so I selected a lower priced hotel than I would otherwise. I was pleasantly surprised by the high level of extras that are not usually found in "more economical" hotels: coffee maker, iron and ironing board, refrigerator, microwave oven, a small basket of soaps and shampoos. The bed was above average in comfort and the fixtures and fittings were high quality.”
