• It was an older hotel; but the accommodations were clean & supplies good.
• Not real attractive from the outside--dark brown dated color.

• Bottom sheets pulled out when trying to get into bed

“The hotel is an excellent value. The rooms are spacious, built in the days when room size were not sacrificed for profit. It was immaculately clean and staff was friendly and congenial, even giving us a room with two beds without a hitch.”

• this was the most beautiful grounds and lovely place to stay and we had the best time.
• just that I heard they were closing.

• the staff was very friendly
• The room had spider webs, was extremly old without any remodeling and the bed was terrible!

“ The first time it was very noisy and accomodations very outdated, especially the bathroom. This time the room hadn't been dusted in a very long time and when I turned the heater on, it blew dust and dirt all over the room!!”

“I've never stayed at a hotel quite like Rickeys before. It's old-fashioned, like a 30's motor court, but has the amenities of a modern hotel. It turned out to be the wrong location for me, as it's inconveniently located between the US-101 and I-280 freeways, so it took extra time to get anywhere. I could see it as a great location for someone visiting Stanford or doing business in Palo Alto, however.”

• Good location and clean room.
• Took a while to get hot water out of the bathroom faucet. Mediocre TV reception.

• convenient location from hospital; well kept, easy to make reservations; QUIET very important
• dark brown color of buildings; food menu needs more variety

• nice hotel with easy parking
• I've stayed at other 3 star hotels in this neighborhood, and this one is not quite as nice

“hotel has lots of 'bungalow' type rooms -- which are near to parking. it's sometimes difficult to adjust the heating in the room. not all rooms have Wi-Fi, for which there is a charge.”

• Not *** quality Tub drain was clogged and staff did not repair as requested so it stayed clogged the two days I was there.

“ Due to its age sounds is an issue as well. Heard all noises from above and next door to my room. Bathroom tubs/showers need to be replaced as well as faucets, sinks, etc. Needs updated if it is to be a ***.”

• Hotel has inadequate broadband. Very poor breakfast available, no hot entr'.

“This property should not be listed in its category. Hyatt is selling the hotel--it will be torn down and they are not resorting it. I had to move to another room to get a feeble wireless broadband signal. Dining facility and menu is marginal at best. Very disappointed.”

“Classic '50s type of California hotel. Funky but charming in its own way. While the furniture and baths could use some updating, the room was spacious compared to the typical business hotel room and furnished with a nice desk, ample power outlets and good Internet connectivity.”

• Front desk staff was prompt and helpful.
• Two different levels of rooms. Mine was the lower level.

“Restaurant is a sports bar. Breakfast very pricey. Rooms were standard and some maintenance required. Room service dishes stayed piled in the hallways. Not 3 star quality.”

• Half cleaned room - bedroom cleaned , bathroom dirty

“The hotel is located in a nice area. The staff is friendly. My last stay at Ricky's Hyatt was not all the great - TV only worked on half the channels and the bathroom was not clean. This hotel is a cut below Sheraton Sunnyvale and Marriott, Santa Clara. ”

• I liked their shampoo and the shower was great in my room but was lousy in our 2nd room.
• they should not be considered a 3 star hotel like they claim. Disappointing for the claims.

“This hotel is a Hyatt property and that alone left a lot of room for disappointment since it is my experience that Hyatt properties are usually nice. It claims to be higher in stars than it should be rated. There are other beautiful hotels nearby, such as Marriott, that would have made me feel more comfortable. The shower felt great in our room, but our guests in the second room had a horrible shower so there were inconsistencies. The staff was very rude when I called and was told that my reservation didn't show up, they seemed to belittle me.”

• It was a dump!

“It looks like an old motor lodge that somebody put a fresh coat of paint on. The walls had bad nail holes on plywood shanks!! I can't believe Hyatt would put thier name on such a dump! I stay in 3 hotels a week for work and this was by far the worst "3 star hotel" I have ever seen. I wouldn't even give it two stars. ”

• Our room was not very handicap friendly.

“Very nice location and price.I called hotel directly to make arrangements for a "Ground level" room, as some of my family members are disabled.Hotel assurred me that accomodations would be made, but upon arrival, they stuck us on the 4th floor, several hundred feet from the nearest elevator...I was not too happy, but stuck with what was available.”

• Staff is very nice, provided a roll away at no cost for 1 night, spacious rooms
• Hotel is aging, making it hard to maintain Hyatt standards.

“Very funky, cool 70's style. Rooms are well painted and bright but the rows of shake roofed buildings are really aging and growing plants on top. Plumbing is getting old, drains run slow, toilet had some of the hardware break during our stay. But very clean and maids do a great job. Typical nice Hyatt mattresses.”

“Ricky's is a great deal if you are not looking for luxury. The staff was extremely helpful but the part of the hotel that we stayed in seemed a bit dated. The carpets were stained and the heating/air system made a great deal of noise. It is fine for one night...especially if you are not spending much time in the room.”

• Older hotel but it was very comfortable. Staff was great. Slept like a baby.
• It was just a little to far from where I wanted to stay.

“Older hotel but it was kept up nice. It was kind of a bungalow style hotel. Room might need to be updated a bit and the hotel staff was very attentive from the first call I made asking for a non-smoking room. They made sure that I had a King size bed and I really enjoyed my stay.”

• Carpet and furnishing somewhat old and shabby, but clean.

• The motel room was neat and clean.
• Noisy air condition, no room service, phone was not working.

“It can be nice for a summer weekend get away, but do not expect a real hotel. It is really a motel with no room service, and old (in a good way) condition. The cleaning lady knocked at the door at 11:55 AM on the check out date to make sure that we are leaving by 12!! even though the privacy sign was placed on the knob!”

• room smelled of mold, found mold and mold stains

“The room smelled of mold or something. The smell was obvious enough (black mold stains on the wood work) that either this is par for the course for ALL rooms OR the hotel staff does not care enough take action on this room. One of the shower towels neatly folded was wet/damp.

I mentioned all this to the manager on my way out, and asked that they get back to me when they check out the room. I have not heard back yet (that was Friday early morning - it is Monday).

Hyatt is brilliant to own this valuable location, but the property (rooms) need lots of work to not tarnish the Hyatt Name.”

• Have had a terrible backache because of the hard bed we slept on.

“Hard to believe this hotel rated as a 3- star. This hotel is ancient, the 3 story building is dark and the walls very thin. A noisy family moved in next door at 2am and made lots of noise for over an hour. Staff did not respond when call placed to front desk.”
