“As far as Hilton Oakland Airport goes, it's a misrepresentation for them to be considered a 3-star hotel. I will never pick Oakland as a region again for fear that I will be stuck with the Hilton Oakland Airport property. There is no free Wi-Fi anywhere on the premises.I was so not happy about having to pay $30 more a night as an upsell that I went to the lobby and asked for the manager on duty. She really listened to my concerns and comped me the $30 extra per night. I was completely satisfied with this arrangement.” Aug 30, 2009 by
Susan from Gualala,CA
“Bedding is comfortable. Downside is that hotel charges $9.75 a day for parking and $12.95 a day for wireless internet.” Aug 28, 2009 by
Patricia from Boulder Creek,CA
“Great Hotel and check out was 12:00.” Jul 10, 2009 by
Gabriel from Ft. Pierce,FL
“Very comfortable room with a great buffet breakfast.” Jun 26, 2009 by
Henry from Eureka,CA
“Excellent location for access to Oakland Airport, the Oakland Colosseum and the downtown area. There were many family friendly activities at the hotel that would help entertain teenage offspring. The food at the restaurant was exceptional, the staff of the entire operation very professional and friendly.” May 19, 2009 by
Anthony from Kiln,MS
“Okay. Will stay again.” Feb 21, 2009 by
Joy from Mccall,ID
“When you have to pay 22 dollars for the night for parking and internet connection. Big Disappointment!” Dec 9, 2008 by
Star from Fremont,CA
“Overall, I enjoyed my stay the hotel staff was very polite, and I will be staying at the Hilton Oakland airport again in future.” Dec 7, 2008 by
Kristin from Willits,CA
“The view was great and actually every thing else the rooms were exceptional but if your expecting a great room with 4 star amenities you will be let down.” Sep 30, 2008 by

“Worst hotel I've ever used when in non king sized bed. They told me I had no choice for my bed selecton. Since I was there to see lifelong [46 years] friend who died 5 hours before I arrived, I had little choice except to remain at that site. But never again for me there.” Sep 16, 2008 by

“Room stunk of smoke even though non smoking room apparently.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Jt from Albany, NY
“Not a pleasant stay. Glad we were only there for 2 nights.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Toby from Seattle, WA
“Staff was pleasant and very convenient airport access, did not care for layout of hotel, multiple buildings farther from main lobby. Surprised about the charge for parking.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Allen from Reston, VA
“The hotel is one mile from the Oakland airport car rental so it is a convenient location for the business travelers. The hotel charges $9.75 for self-parking which seems excessive considering there were plenty of parking spaces available. We had the breakfast buffet at the hotel. The food was ok but not worth $14.95. For the price, I thought it was a decent value but not great.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Dan from Marblehead, MA
“Clean, friendly and easy access to and fro.” Aug 30, 2008 by
Robyn from Tehachapi, CA
“Hotel was clean and well appointed.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Omar from Portland, OR
“Hotel was located in close proximity to airport. It made access easy. The rooms are clean and neat.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Scott from Simi Valley, CA
“I do not recommend this hotel. It is only close to the airport, nothing else. The hotel charges for every extra service that most hotels provide free like parking, internet access, business services, continental breakfast, etc.” Aug 23, 2008 by
Daniel from Wilmington, NC
“First, location. It's very close to the Oakland Airport, which is good if you're just in town for business but bad if you want to see the area. It was too small. We couldn't get an upgrade or even get them to give us a rollaway bed. There's only an Ethernet connection in the room, they want $13 a day for internet access and they will charge you an additional $13 a day for a second computer. That's totally unacceptable. I sent a strongly worded letter to hotel management (local and national) and never got a reply. That's also totally unacceptable. Other things: the hotel is a series of separate dorm like buildings. You need a key card to access everything, which is fine, except three of our key cards failed. The elevator in our building was broken for most of a day. I had to call in to tell them about it. Room service dishes were left in the hallway for at least 24 hours. I asked several times about shuttles to and from the Oakland Airport car rental service. I was given different info each time. I ended up stranded there for more than 30 minutes -- I had to call in and scream at them to get them to send a van to pick me up off their usual schedule (the bell captain gave me the wrong times for the shuttle). I got a tepid apology at best. This is a three star hotel? I don't think so.” Aug 22, 2008 by
James from Beloit, WI
“Not in the safest part of town but I always felt secure. Staff very friendly and accommodating.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Mark from Bloomington, CA
“This hotel is located very close to the Oakland Airport which is its very best feature. The facilities are old and very outdated. There is an attempt to maintain them with fresh paint but they are very old. If you are looking for a modern hotel then this is not the hotel for you. The room was clean and recently updated but the door did not latch and sounded as though someone was trying to get in all night long. Food and desserts in the hotel restaurant were stale and when replaced, the new food was stale as well. Food was terrible. The food service staff is less than friendly and look as though they could care less about their job. This hotel has surely seen better days and could honestly use a complete renovation to bring it into the 21st century. The front desk staff was discourteous and the gate attendant was coarse and unaccommodating. The parking lot is difficult to access and getting out is even worse. Don't misplace your parking ticket here or they will scold you and send you back to your room. The grounds have nice mature trees and a nice modern gym. If you are looking for an average to below average experience near the airport then this is the hotel for you. Maybe ok for a low-budget conference group. Not a good place for a romantic getaway or anyone expecting executive or even non-executive treatment. Excessive charge for internet access in room and also a whopping 69 cents a minute to use the business lounge near the front desk. Don't expect much when staying here and you won't be disappointed. They put us in a room surrounded by hundreds of conference attendees who came in at all hours of the night after drinking it up at the hotel bar. Housekeeping did respond promptly to change out soiled linens when requested. Entire staff could use a customer service ambush makeover. I do not recommend.” Jul 29, 2008 by
S from Denver, CO
“$75 a day having to pay for parking I wasn't happy.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Steve from Seattle, WA
“We stayed in building 5. The room was recently redone. It was very convenient to McAfee park and downtown Oakland. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The sports bar could use a total revamping and better quality menu.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Jozef from Lowell, MA
“It isn't too far from SF downtown, so for those who are there for this reason, it isn't a bad location. However, using a Bay bridge or Golden Gate bridge costs $4.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Rick from Wasco, IL
“Great for the price!” Jun 27, 2008 by
Rick from Tampa, FL
“Good hotel. Met Hilton's standards.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Richard from Milton, MA
“Close to San Francisco, good for families of 3 or more who can take advantage of the high occupancy lane on the Bay Bridge to SF. The lodging is great.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Ken from Houston, TX
“This hotel should be rated a one star. The elevator didn't work, you have to pay for parking, you have to get a new parking pass every day which requires you to go stand in line at the front desk, the air conditioner stayed on 65 the entire night so the room was freezing. Management was terrible and the front desk staff was unfriendly. I have never stayed at a Hilton like this one.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Ce from San Marcos, CA
“It's not the nicest, but not bad. It's not gorgeous but not dirty. It's smack-dab middle of the road decent, especially if you're mostly looking for a place to sleep rather than an attraction up to itself.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Elizabeth D. from San Diego, CA
“Staff very friendly room, clean close to Oakland airport, good shuttle service.” Jun 15, 2008 by
Gerald from S.L.T., CA
“Great for business travel.” Jun 6, 2008 by
Judy from San Diego, CA
“The location was great and freeway close. If you want something to eat away from the hotel. There is a panda express, carrots, and in & out burger. The best part for me was the free shuttle to and from the ballpark.” May 27, 2008 by
Steve from Grass Valley, CA
“The front desk staff is polite enough, but after that is seems to go downhill. The beds are not too comfortable, I felt mine was leaning, and my 9 year old daughter ended up with a row of either bed bug bites or flea bites. I will be contacting the hotel directly about this.” May 26, 2008 by
Rhonda from Hayward, CA
“Nice hotel, ideal for business travel.” May 25, 2008 by
Howard from Hartsdale, NY
“This is an airport motor hotel at about a Holiday Inn level of quality. Although it was run quite well, the facilities and rooms need a bit of updating to be up to Hilton standards.” May 24, 2008 by
Ben from San Francisco, CA
“Very close to airport. Nice comfortable room with good amenities (Crabtree and Evelyn products, coffee machine with better than average coffee, several comfortable places to sit and put feet up). A short drive to see baseball. The pool is closed for now as it is getting work done. They do provide a pass to go swim somewhere else but this is not convenient. Staff very helpful and friendly.” May 20, 2008 by
Merry from Windsor, CA
“They offered me a parlor room with a fold out couch. When I went to the room the room reeked of bad smell. I refused the room and they offered me another room, I informed them that I have health concerns and could not stay in a smoking room, they gave me a key and told me to check out the room, it was a smoking room. I then went back to the desk and they gave me a room in an area that was being renovated there were buckets of paint, garbage plates and tape all over the hallways. But the room was fine so I stayed. The next night I came back from my meeting to find that there was someone in my room with the dead bolt on from the inside, the TV was on. I checked my room and key twice. The door opened but the chain bolt was across the entrance. I went back to the desk to complain, they called security and they did not find anyone in the room by the time they got there. My luggage was intact. I was so scared I did not sleep all night and had to put random furniture against the door.” May 12, 2008 by
Esther from Overland Park, KS
“Very pleased with the hotel, room and employees. Would certainly stay again.” May 10, 2008 by
Beth from Denver, CO
“The hotel was fine and even had a live plant in the room. However, I am extremely allergic to smoke and had to stay in a smoking room. The staff said all non-smoking rooms were booked, but the hotel was far from booked.” May 4, 2008 by
Ryan from Las Vegas, NV
“Excellent location but 3 1/2 Star at best. Disappointing for a Hilton.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Suzanne from Denver, CO
“Was disappointed when we found out there was an $8. A day parking fee. The parking lot is certainly big enough to accommodate any cars, so the parking should be free, especially if you're staying for a number of days. There was also a $12. A day charge to use the internet hook up in the room. We weren't going to pay that just to check our email on the laptop we brought along. The bathroom was small, with a small counter top. The 2 of us had trouble keeping our toiletries on the counter along with the coffee maker and the amenities. On at least 4 of the 7 nights we stayed there, our key card didn't work in the outside door. The hotel was clean and housekeeping did a good job of maintaining the room on a daily basis.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Allison from Petaluma, CA
“The Hilton at Oakland Airport was very convenient, comfortable, and a bit classier than most, exactly what I would expect from a Hilton. This one had a bit of nostalgia with modern conveniences.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Juliet L. from West Hills, CA
“It is not the caliber of Hilton hotel that I am used to. At the hotel bar a guest asked if the hotel used to be military barrack before it was a Hilton. The bathroom was very small and the decor was like a Holiday Inn or Best Western. Overall the room and hotel facility were acceptable.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Laurie from Highland, CA
“Very close to the Oakland airport, and 20 minutes from University of California, Berkeley where we were visiting with our son. It's an older property with still a shadow of the 60's remaining, but the rooms and public spaces were recently remodeled and very nice. Our guest room was huge by current standards, but we were disappointed that the two beds were doubles rather than the more common queen-size, and it was less than comfortable. We ate at the restaurant one night and the bar the next. Service in the restaurant was polished and professional; service in the bar was haphazard. Both meals, however, the food was pleasantly surprising - prepared by chefs rather than cooks I'd say. Parking was fine, but the guest rooms are in separate buildings from the lobby, and the restaurants & banquet rooms are in yet another building. If you don't mind walking outside it's no problem.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Kat from Cambridge, MA
“Convenient location. 5-10 minutes from Oakland Airport. Moderate hotel.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Ben from Charlottesville, VA
“This did not meet my expectations of a Hilton. It felt more like a motel 8 with a Hilton facade slapped onto it. For such an out-of-the-way hotel (only close to the Oakland airport). I was surprised that parking was so expensive - we had to pay every time we left the lot, although getting this put onto the room's bill was convenient. It also surprised me how expensive the internet connection was ($11.95 per day), especially since they didn't offer wireless connectivity. To overcome this, I plugged in my laptop and setup an ad hoc wireless network for my wife to use.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Tim from Grandville, MI
“This hotel is easy to get too. Parking is gated and secure. Staff is very helpful. My only problem was that there is no wireless internet, and the wired internet uses a short wire that only reaches the desk, and there is an expensive daily charge. That seems like a problem for a 4-star hotel wanting to reach business clients.” Apr 6, 2008 by
Jenny from Washington, DC
“This is a good hotel if you need to be close to the airport. It was a bit inconvenient for the work I had to do in Downtown Oakland. The taxi cost $30 each way, so instead I had to take the once-hourly hotel shuttle to the BART, and then take the BART. Big pain. I should have just stayed in San Francisco.” Apr 5, 2008 by
Tim from Kailua, HI
“Decor is old and drab, in lobby and room. Everything costs extra. Neighborhood is dull.” Apr 3, 2008 by
Malinda from San Antonio, TX
“Good for a short stay, very close to the airport.”
