“The first hotel Hilton was very nice and we would have like to stay there another night but there was a miscommunication (not sure my error or not) but was not able to stay for two nights and had to find another place for our second night stay. Was not happy that we had to pay for parking in order to stay at the hotel. Have not done so before.”

• Cool decor.
• Bathrooms had old fixtures, heat/cool system not efficient.

“Older, well appointed hotel that has been renovated in an funky Art Deco style. Nice and comfortable beds. Rooms, however, were on the smaller side. Great walk in closet but no lighting?!”

• Very close to downtown, hip boutique hotel in heart of University District Very close to downtown, hip boutique hotel in heart of University District.
• Was given a handicap room, sub-par decor compared to other rooms I've stayed in, was COLD during the night.

“I've stayed here numerous times, this is the worst experience I've had, I will not stay in a handicap room again.”

• Hotel Deca is not joking about the art deco. It is really hip. The most comfortable bed and lazy sofa I have ever laid in.
• Bathroom is a little outdated. Only two elevators.

“No internet for 4 days & 3 nights that I've stayed. On our first night, he said that someone will fix it next day but it never happened & our 3rd night the manager said that the internet is completely blow out. Our card key has day that it did not work.”

• Safe, comfortable, quiet, friendly, good price, good location.
• Nothing.

“Hotel deca is near the Washington Univesity, so you can find many restaurant easily. And it is near the zoo and 5 miles to downtown. If you drive or rent a car in Seattle, it is a nice place to stay. I upgrade to two queenbed room with $15 a day. So it makes me feel spacious of the room. The bed is confortable and the room is quiet. I will recommend to bid the 3.5 star hotel if you go to Seattle for visit.”

• Thin walls, smelly bathroom, and
  very noisy near elevator.

“We stayed on the 5th floor in room. We were at the mercy of the sounds from the elevator, and because the walls are thin those sounds dominated our time there. In addition to that the smell of urine (from a previous guest) seemed to grow more pungent over the course of our overnight. This is a glorified party hotel and the young staff treats it as such. On a positive note the rooms do look nice, and if you get a room facing southwest you'll enjoy a great view of the city and Mt. Rainier.”

• It was close to University of Washington and close to interesting shops, etc.
• I did not like the way the receptionist treated us.

“Receptionist said that the only room left was a room with a double bed and placed us in that room though I insisted we wanted either king or twin size bed. We asked for a rollaway bed and then the response was the room was too small for a rollaway bed. And indeed it was a small corner room that I think is usually only used for single travelers. The bathroom was very small and a large person would have had difficulty closing the door of the bath. To close the door there was not much room between the sink and the swing of the door.”

• Location was good.

“This is not a child friendly hotel since the bathroom was small and the bathroom lacked counter space. Art deco in my opinion means old and vintage. The style did not appeal to me. The HVAC system was loud when it was on. I didn't feel the parking lot was the safest. I would do my best to avoid this hotel in the future.”

• This is a charming boutique hotel. Very comfortable and private. Parking is included.
• Nothing.

“The Hotel DECA is a charming boutique hotel located within walking distance of restaurants and a movie theatre. The rooms are spacious and appointed tastefully. The staff is wonderful. It was a very relaxing experience considering this was a business trip.”

• No Bravo channel, otherwise we were very satisfied.

• The location is close to points of interest in Seattle were excellent and the view from the 8th floor was a pleasure.
• Some of the furnishings in the room were damaged and the room was very small.

“I don't know how long ago the hotel was remodeled but it already looks a little shop worn. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was quiet and the view made up for the cramped quarters. I'd stay there again.”

• The room was spacious.

“It looked very nice as you walked into the room. However, the sheets and pillow cases were not clean and the bathroom was so small fitted for one person at a time.”

• The front desk staff was fantastic. Friendly and helpful.

“The decor of the hotel is very nice. It's an old building, but they've done it up well. The staff is fabulous. Very friendly and helpful. The internet in the lobby was convenient. It would be nice if there was a restaurant, not just the dark lounge in the basement. Overall a good experience.”

• Room was comfortable with great personality, not a cookie cutter.
• Bathroom was rather small.

“A real gem in the U District of Seattle. Very hip, very friendly, helpful staff. Room was small but very comfortable and very hip. Great location, great price, convenient coffee shop in the lobby. Great amenities like giant LCD HDTV with DVD player in room, free computer with internet access and free printing in the lobby; free off-street parking as well. Would highly recommend this hotel and intend to stay again when in the area.”

• The decor was upbeat and colorful. A pleasant mixture of retro and modern decor. Seemed cozy and comfortable like a studio apartment.
• The absence of a pool or sauna was a disappointment. Needing your room key each time to travel the elevator.

“The location was ideal. Minutes away from great food and attractions. Bus transportation was very near and readily available. The lobby and the elevator and the room were a mixture of retro and modern decor. Lively and good on the eyes. All staff was courteous and helpful. I loved my stay there. Thank you.”

• It's proximity to Children's Hospital and its art deco look.
• No swimming pool.

“It was comfortable and relaxing. We just found out my 2 year old daughter has to have open heart surgery and with the stress of that event this hotel gave us a nice haven to escape to. The staff was welcoming, friendly and accommodating.”

• I don't think that parking should be an additional cost.

“The hotel is quite nice for business travelers or couples traveling leisurely. The decor is nice, and it is comfortable. However, it isn't family friendly-only in that it really has nothing to appeal to small children.”

• Bathrooms did not have evacuator fans, no fridge/microwave.

“Hotel exceeded our expectations when we arrived after a tiring day of touring Seattle with friends. I called the hotel to ensure rooms to accommodate a family of 4 in each. They assigned us rooms with 2 queen beds in each. Hotel was quiet, staff was very courteous. Free wireless internet access was available in the rooms, though no free continental breakfast if offered. Hotel has a complimentary shuttle that can take you as far as the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle, but only between 7 AM- 8 PM. Shuttle can take 6 passengers at a time. Excellent location, 1 block away from a ton of restaurants, shops and also the UW. Burke Museum of Natural history is 2 blocks away. And, if you want a $0.75 credit to your account, tell the front desk not to deliver the complimentary daily newspaper to your door!”

• It felt like a hip boutique hotel and had nice big windows with territorial views.
• They gave 2 people a room with a double bed and it was crushed up against a wall on one side.

“I can't recommend this hotel as a 3 star--think the rating is 2-2.5 star. Room too small by far for two people; had to pay to park; grungy university area nearby for restaurants with attendant street people made it feel creepy.”

• Poor HVAC performance, especially heat.

“The hotel was a great experience overall for us. There were a few shortcomings that come with staying at an older place such as poor HVAC, especially the heat and ability to hear other guests while in the bathroom. Hotel staff is friendly while not being overbearing. Overall it was a nice relaxed experience and refreshingly different in terms of decor.”

• I did not like the location.

“I was not impressed by Hotel Deca. The rooms smelled musty and the showers were extremely small. There was a cloth shower curtain that basically touched me during my entire shower. The location was not great for getting to downtown. There are buses nearby but public transportation is not easy to figure out. Overall, I would not stay again.”

• Modern, clean, appealing! Staff treated me like any other guest, room was terrific!
• Could hear housekeeping working in the hallways while trying to sleep in.

“This was a cool, enjoyable hotel. Parking was cheap for Seattle standards. Location was just a block from the UW main entertainment drag. Still, hotel was surrounded by parking lots that will hopefully be redeveloped. Staff was incredible. Last time the hotel in Portland treated me like a second class guest. Desk agent also gave me great suggestions for food and warmly greeted me every time I passed by the desk.”
