“Nice hotel, better location. Nothing better for the price. Make allowance for stiff parking rates, though.” May 26, 2008 by
D from San Francisco, CA
“Very nice. Clean. Enjoyed the "posh ness" of the area and property design. Would have liked to stay longer to enjoy and appreciate better.” May 24, 2008 by
Ann from White Rock, BC CA
“We were fortunate to be given a beautiful room on the 17th floor. Staff were friendly polite and very professional. The Gym is small because the hotel was built a long time ago. We did not eat in the restaurant. It is very handy to get there from San Francisco Airport on the BART train $5.25 each way and the Subway entrance is outside the hotel. Shopping at Union Sq and Westfield mall is a 20 minute walk from the hotel.” May 23, 2008 by
Walter from San Diego, CA
“Location, room size and staff were good. Location near cable cars was a little noisy. $56 per day parking was very expensive as was $10 per day internet. Bathroom had some mold.” May 21, 2008 by
Mark from Long Beach, CA
“Top notch hotel, Ferry Building is right across the street. Bart is also. Muni bus access to all directions in San Francisco. Also centrally located to all the places you want to visit, so you can take a long walk to those places if you want.” May 20, 2008 by
Paul from Santa Cruz, CA
“I've stayed twice. The location is perfect for me - a quick walk to the Ferry Bldg., Embarcadero theaters and patios and some of my favorite places. Also like the Bay views and quietness of the rooms. And the staff are very nice - and don't seem to treat you differently.” May 16, 2008 by
Cheryl from Wheatland, CA
“Great location-close to the Embarcadero and walking distances to Fishermans Wharf and other destinations.” May 15, 2008 by
Asher from Carson City, NV
“This stay was pretty close to the perfect hotel experience. Staff uniformly went out of their way to make the stay perfect and resolve all our needs. Location was simply the absolute best possible location in SF, right on hubs for all local travel. View was absolutely amazing -- clear look out over the Bay with no obstructions at all. Room was very attractively outfitted. Only gripe, and I'm stretching to find one, is that there was no free internet-only option was $10/day for wireless.” May 14, 2008 by
Erik from Carson City, NV
“Beautiful hotel with wonderful views and amenities. Centrally located Downtown and with perfect access to public transportation. Parking is a bit expensive, but other than that, a wonderful place for either the weekend getaway or the business traveler.” May 13, 2008 by
Jeff from San Francisco, CA
“This is a terrific hotel. There's a spectacular, 17 story atrium. The rooms were large and nicely appointed. Even the cheapest rooms have at least a bit of a view of the downtown side of the hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were attentive and courteous. Right at the foot of Market Street, the Ferry Building and Waterfront are right across the street. Union Square is a short walk away, as are Chinatown and North Beach. Also, BART, the California Street, Cable Car Terminal and the Muni Metro are outside the front doors. If you don't mind sleek, ultra-modern (that is a lot of concrete, inside and out) architecture, this is good for you in San Francisco.” May 12, 2008 by
Dave from Arlington, TX
“Nice place. We requested quiet room but put in room facing market street near ground level.” May 11, 2008 by
Brenda from Atlanta, GA
“Hyatt's always meet our expectations.” May 8, 2008 by
Patricia from Frisco, TX
“Good location in downtown san Francisco where all the action is. We arrived on a Saturday, market day at the Ferry Building (right in front of the hotel) and it was a unique experience. Not too far is Pier 39 and many excellent restaurants in the immediate area, including the slanted door (also en the Ferry Bldg) was excellent. The view from our room overlooking the Bay was amazing. The restaurant food was very good but pricey. Overall, it was a great stay.” May 8, 2008 by
Darcie from Orangevale, CA
“Will never stay here again. They fail to inform you on the outrageous price just to keep your car at the hotel, I could understand maybe $20. No they charge $50 + tax. Our shower had soap scum on the tile, our patio was covered in bird poop. The front desk clerk was sarcastic and rude.” May 8, 2008 by
Fran from Eagle Point, OR
“The hotel is beautiful. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a room with a view of the bay (for an additional $ per night). The room was luxurious and very clean. The hotel is located right at the start of the Embarcadero. If you don't mind walking, it's a nice stroll all the way to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. Or, you can also ride the cable car which is conveniently located at the entrance of the hotel. Also within walking distance of Chinatown. However, if you're on a budget, keep in mind that parking will cost you an additional $50 per day. Also plan on eating elsewhere. I was not ready to fork out $29 for a buffet breakfast (yes, that's per person) on top of a $5 cup of coffee. We left after the cup of coffee and walked across the street for breakfast at a great little Mexican place.” May 8, 2008 by
Stephanie C. from Winters, CA
“This spotless hotel was so welcoming after spending the day shopping on market street. S.F can feel very dirty at times, but the Hyatt was a nice escape from all the grunge of the city. The atrium is huge and has a wonderful airy feeling. The hotel is connected to the embarcadero shopping center which has upscale shopping and is also very clean. The ferry building is right across the street from the hotel which has many places to eat. There is a farmers market on Sunday in front of the ferry building as well. I love that a trolley comes right to front door of the hotel. It was wonderful to be close enough to everything yet still far away enough from the hustle of city life.” May 7, 2008 by
Thuy from Golden Valley, MN
“This is a great hotel. Great location. It's within walking distance of many of the attractions and is across the street from the cable car station. I have two small children, and the hotel brought up a small fridge so that we can store their milk. There's a 7 Eleven and Walgreen right across the street which was very convenient in case we needed anything for the children. We had a great stay. The only downfall was the parking, which was almost $56/day. However, you get in/out privileges.” May 7, 2008 by
Shawn from North Bend, OR
“The lobby of the Hyatt is absolutely stunning, her staff is as friendly and helpful as they come and the views are beyond amazing of the Bay Area, she truly belongs in the heart of San Francisco.” May 7, 2008 by
Ralph from Kingston Springs, TN
“Valet parking very expensive. Staff attentive. Great Location! Would suggest taking public transit to hotel and around SF.” May 5, 2008 by
Debi from Moorestown, NJ
“The hotel is overlooking the piers. Public transportation is easily accessible. The staff is friendly and helpful.” May 4, 2008 by
Phil from Wilmington, DE
“The hotel is located right next to the Bart, Subway, and Trolleys. The rooms are large, clean and quiet.” May 2, 2008 by
Angela from San Francisco, CA
“There is no finer establishment in San Francisco. Order an amazing breakfast from room service (yogurt and granola fit for miss fond of) and then go running on the wharf down to aquatic park. See the city from 360 degrees in their rooftop restaurant. It's definitely like being at the top of the world only better.” May 2, 2008 by
Debbie from Reno, NV
“I have stayed at many Hyatts and the service and surroundings were as expected wonderful. I was very disappointed to find ourselves in a small room at the end of the hallway next to the electrical box. The room had an adjoining door and we could hear the neighbor talking and rattling the door knob during the night. It was a bit daunting.” May 1, 2008 by
S from New York, NY
“The hotel is located in a central spot, easy to get to via mass transit, foot, ferry, etc. Room was clean and ok in size. However, when checking in, the staff made a point of ensuring we were given a sub par room in spite of the hotel was, at most, 10% booked. and tried to up sell us to a larger room on a higher floor for extra cost. When we declined, they made a point to put us in a room on a low floor overlooking a very busy street. When we asked to change rooms, they gave us a bit of a hard time and relocated us to yet another room on a very low floor in a noisy area. We have an infant and they could have easily given us one of the many empty rooms in better areas.” May 1, 2008 by
Cristian from Hamden, CT
“I would not use this hotel if I had a car. The $49 + tax parking per day are excessive by a wide margin. That being said, the hotel is nice and the rooms are well maintained.” May 1, 2008 by
Diana from Puyallup, WA
“This is my second stay at the Hyatt Regency. My only complaint is that I cannot live here! It's classy and serene. In my opinion, not necessarily a hotel for small children. An excellent get away for the romantic.” May 1, 2008 by
Jen from Canoga Park, CA
“This hotel has a great location. The service seems good. I entered at the street level a few hours after checking in and noted that no hotel personnel were observing who accessed the elevators to the rooms which was around a corner out of sight. At 3 am the people in the room above me were stomping on the floor and seemed to be moving furniture. At the 2nd call to security it stopped.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Linda from Crescent City, CA
“This property offers a lobby atrium with orchids, a fountain and a sculpture that provides a dramatic effect. The rooms are all spacious and many provide lovely views of the San Francisco Bay. Across the street is the newly restored Ferry Building, with charming shops selling coffee, cheese, baked goods and other gourmet delights. The hotel is also convenient to public transportation, although walking is always a treat in San Francisco.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Cindy from Evergreen, CO
“A wonderfully located hotel with simple but very comfortable rooms and excellent beds.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Karin from Mount Shasta, CA
“The Hyatt staff always makes us feel welcome. The room are clean, spacious and comfortable.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Matthew from Altaville, CA
“Hotel is in a nice location close to the wharf, cable cars and shopping. Tadich Grill is as good a restaurant experience as you'll find in the city. Beware of the parking cost, $50/night, plus tax, to valet car came as a shock! If you're staying here, research to find a parking garage nearby, and self park. Self park beware: not all garages stay open 24 hours, so don't park where you car will be locked in overnight. If you need your car for a late night event.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Kate from Chandler, AZ
“We just loved our hotel pick for this trip. The balcony door opened up to the most unbelievably beautiful view! Look left and there's the bay with a spectacular view of the bay bridge look right and there's Market street and a beautiful view of the city (especially at night!). The room didn't have an actual 'balcony' per se it was more like one whole wall of the room just opened up to the city. Double glass doors opened up to a railing (not too safe for kids without an adult right there with them). We were on the 12th floor and boy, the view was just incredible. Great location! Right outside the front door of the hotel is the Subway entrance and a bunch of trolley, cable car and bus stops! Parking was outrageously expensive. It cost $50 to park the car in the hotel parking garage. A cheaper parking garage is across the street ($30 per day). If we had known we wouldn't have rented a car because the public transportation is so great, you really don't need one. A shuttle from the airport instead of the rental car would have saved us hundreds of dollars. We honestly didn't even use the car. It just sat parked in the garage the whole time. There really is no need for a car in this city. There is also an art fair that sets up right out front of the hotel on weekends. We noticed it from our balcony and spent the morning with bagels, coffee, art and local musicians with the beautiful ocean as our backdrop. I highly recommend this hotel!” Apr 28, 2008 by
Catherine from Moss Beach, CA
“Disappointed that top bar is now only for special guests. Attitude of staff was poor regarding having access to the bar. Overall experience was poor due to status being an issue $3.50 just to look inside the fridge in room.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Chris from Sunnyvale, CA
“Upon entering the hotel I was greeted by two friendly Hosts, I was able to check in under 2 min's and was in my room in under 5. The Bed was extremely comfortable and Clean! The bathroom was very clean and well lit. I lucked out and had a corner room with two walls with windows. Upon arriving back from the hotel after a night out I found the room to be whisper quiet and had the best nights sleep I have had in months! I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family!” Apr 27, 2008 by
Al from Carlsbad, CA
“Great business hotel close to the heart of San Fran and near the water and shops. I would stay here again.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Cathy from Farmington, CA
“Safe, Clean and Upscale, but I expected all items to work in a 4 Star Hotel. I was upgraded to a top floor remodeled room which was very modern and cool including a TV built into the bathroom mirror. Bed and linen was very comfortable including soft towels. However, our wake up call never came, the shower drain wasn't working and I had to take a shower in a foot of water, and when we called about the bathroom TV not working, the maintenance crew never showed up to fix it. I also expect a few more extra items in an upgraded top floor 4 star room such as bathroom necessites like mouthwash, QTips, etc. They just had the basic shampoo, conditioner, and lotion and not a high class brand either. And most importantly, the parking was an additional $58 per day. Overall, safe, clean and good location. Remodeled room was very modern with Flat Screens and a terrific bed but the parking price was too high and the service was not what I expect for a 4 star. Especially the missed wake up call which is very important in a business class hotel.” Apr 27, 2008 by
John from Turlock, CA
“Great location, union square San Francisco. Clean beautiful room efficient check-in very good room service breakfast prompt, hot.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Mike from Washington, DC
“Hotel is very nice. Staff was also nice and friendly. The biggest problem is parking. No hotel parking, valet is $60. Parking in the center across the street is $30.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Tonya from Elk Grove, CA
“Great hotel, close to all transportation. Beautiful inside.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Herbert from Pasching, FL
“The hotel looks a "bit" dated and the bathroom is definitely not a 4-star-standard. The room itself was nice and clean, but the air-condition made squeaking sounds, so that is a clear minus fur the room 528 and should not occur in a 4-star-hotel.As a conclusion can be said, that the best times for this hotel are over and that refurbishing is really in need, but the staff was friendly and the location in the financial district is good.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Brandy from Rocklin, CA
“Loved the hotel. Paid extra for the view & balcony (a lot extra). And I was overcharged for a mini bar that did not work and movie that I could not even download.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Steve from Sherman Oaks, CA
“This hotel is in a great location on market street, and it is easy to get to any destination with the Bart across the street or the buses. But, the rooms are outdated. This hotel needs to be updated.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Remy from Diamond Bar, CA
“Nice comfortable place to stay, centrally situated with a great view and good service.” Apr 23, 2008 by
John from San Jose, CA
“Great location, view, near ferry building and great farmers market, cable cars most excellent!” Apr 22, 2008 by
Susan from Sacramento, CA
“A nice place to stay if you want to see the Ferry Building and walk around the SF area.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Daniel from Long Beach, CA
“Staff checked me out of the hotel without my knowledge or permission and threw out personal property with no offer of reimbursement. I will not stay at this hotel again if I can help it.” Apr 22, 2008 by
James from Incline Village, NV
“Embarcadero Hyatt easy to get to with public transportation. Tourist activities close by within walking distance.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Chris from Sunnyvale, CA
“This is an excellent hotel that lives up to the Hyatt name. The expansive atrium lobby is very cool to see! I recommend asking for a room close to the elevators, you will thank me later! The room had a great Bed with ultra soft pillows that enabled me to have a nice restful sleep. The bathroom could use an update, but was clean and functional. For hotels in SF I highly recommend the Hyatt!” Apr 17, 2008 by
Moises from Lompoc, CA
“This hotel gives Hyatt a bad name. Our room looked as though it had never been cleaned properly. There was even blood on the wall by the bathroom sink! We were told at check-in that we were getting a "newly remodeled" room. This must have been a joke. The only mirror was in the bathroom, and the lighting there was so poor it didn't matter. I will definitely think twice before staying at Hyatt again.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Will from Reseda, CA
“The hotel is above average and the rooms are comfortable and newly decorated. The bathrooms are old and outdated, but functional. From the hotel, which is right at the end of California street where one cable car line begins, you are blocks from the ferry building, union square and Chinatown. Coit Tower is not far and the walk to the Wharf is doable. There are restaurants and fast food places all around the hotel.” Hotel Representatives:
