“Pros: Location, guest services, free water fill-your-own bottles, small but cozy rooms, comfortable beds, guest closet in hall with various items, cool-looking hotel, need key card to access elevator for security, microwave and fridge! Cons: Rooms are somewhat small but not terrible, room was cold and thermostat was hard to program.” Oct 23, 2009 by
William from Chandler,AZ
“Felt like a converted prison block, because of how it was built, small windows. Being downtown, felt there could have been views.” Oct 16, 2009 by
Gary from Seattle,WA
“This boutique hotel has a European feel. The furnishings are contemporary but still convey a warm feeling. Service was excellent and there were no add-ons to my price. I will return.” Oct 14, 2009 by
Alex from New Haven,CT
“Great hotel, decent location, good price.” Oct 1, 2009 by
Ben from Tucson,AZ
“We had made a reservation for two but only received one hand/face towel. The room, especially the bathroom was very small. There was no ventilation in the bathroom. The added security of using your room key to access any floor from the elevator was excellent.” Sep 29, 2009 by
Pablo from Washington,DC
“This is not a 3 1/2 stars hotel, this is a 3 stars hotel. The rooms were small and it's hard to believe that the building was constructed to be a hotel, it looks more like a building that was turned into a hotel with long corridors, and not privacy.” Sep 17, 2009 by
Lori from Clovis,CA “The coffee pot didn't work, and there's no iron in the room. Came back the following day after being gone for 8 hrs, and the room hadn't been cleaned. The key card wouldn't open the door when we returned, because the battery was dead.” Sep 15, 2009 by
Len from Sebastopol,CA
“Okay for business traveler but lack of continental breadfast, gaping bathroom door and cramped room makes for something less than impressive.” Sep 11, 2009 by
Toni from Broken Arrow,OK
“Would be okay for a single business traveler.” Aug 28, 2009 by
Anthony from Warren,NJ
“i had high expectations about the hotel from the pictures on the web and based on our prior priceline experience in the hilton in pasadena and the sheraton suites in san diego. However i was quite disappointed compared to our previous experiences. The rooms were dark unwelcoming. The reception aera was of a similar nature. We had extremely diasppointing seervice in the elephant and castle for breakfast and the food was also poor. it was quite noisy in the room where I satyed i.e. 901 and as mentioned earlier parking was expensive at $32 per night.” Aug 14, 2009 by
Mitchell from Hattiesburg,MS
“Low quality very tiny rooms that have paper thin walls.” Aug 11, 2009 by
from Fountain Valley,CA
“This hotel would suite the most utilitarian travelers i.e. someone who just needs a clean place to stay. Not good for a relaxing vacation in the least.” Aug 1, 2009 by
Mike from Riverside,CA
“Well the pictures did not due justice to what the room actually was. It was a disappointment. Because of the pictures and the way the web site described the place, I thought we were in for a treat. Not the case. The rooms were small, and old. It looked like they put some nice new up to date sheets on the bed and expected people to pay top dollar for it. I have stayed in a motel 6 that was nicer. Also, when we arrived I didn't feel very welcome.” Apr 29, 2009 by
from Los Angeles,CA
“Worth the money.” Apr 19, 2009 by
David from Novato,CA
“The hotel is excellent for the business traveler with the set-up of the room, the work area in the lobby, a nice exercise room and a place to wash clothes.” Apr 14, 2009 by
Alexandre from Philadelphia,PA
“Good hotel, with a very helpful staff.” Mar 18, 2009 by
Enrique from Concord,CA
“The hotel is in a nice quiet area, of SF with easy access to all other areas for entertainment and dinning. The staff on the other hand, is Mar 12, 2009 by

“Decent location, but I wouldn't consider this a 3 star hotel. Clean, staff friendly, but that's about it.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Sally from Erie,CO
“Clean and basic. Not recommended for family or a romantic weekend.” Feb 24, 2009 by
Aubrey from San Diego,CA
“Overall good experience. The location was great. The staff were all extremely nice and helpful. However the rooms were small and the walls were very thin. They also did not offer anything special such as flowers or decorations for the room, we stayed during a holiday.” Feb 20, 2009 by
Marc from Fresno,CA
“The hotel was in the financial district which was convenient, although the the room was small, there was no parking.” Feb 16, 2009 by
John from St Augusine,FL
“This hotel was an odd place. Smaller rooms and boutique style but claims to cater to business men. This is the smallest room I have stayed in in quite sometime and travel a lot. The TV was small and not flat panel. The kind that won't work after June when they switch to all digital is what it looked like. The location was great. If you do stay there, make sure you look at rooms before you check in to make sure it is acceptable. I looked at 2 rooms before choosing to actually stay in the 3rd room. 1st room was too small. 2nd room window view was a wall and even when curtain open, room was dark and gloomy like a cave. The 3rd room was perfect but the heater didn't work right till the 3rd night. (Last night of my stay) I had a nice view and 2 windows so plenty of light.” Feb 13, 2009 by
CZ from Sacramento,CA
“I would not stay here again, too noisy, your toilet will make noises when the person next door flushes. You had to request an iron & board or go to the Feb 11, 2009 by

“Other than the rooms being small, the hotel was great. I would definitely stay there again.” Jan 21, 2009 by
Nancie from Sonoma,CA
“We wanted a hotel near the ferry so we could leave our car at home and also near dining for our anniversary and my birthday. Hotel was perfect on all counts. Free water, coffee, cookies were a perk and Starbucks right downstairs was heavenly in the morning! All in all, a very enjoyable experience.” Jan 18, 2009 by
Marc from Westport,CT
“Club Quarters is for the cost conscious business traveler. Perfect if you do not plan to spend too much time in the hotel.” Jan 1, 2009 by
Ellorie from Seaside,CA
“I liked this hotel. The room was very attractive. It's location is pretty quiet on the week-ends, but if you're not there to shop it's perfect. It's close to the Embarcadero so it's good for walking or running. More pillows. A box of tissues, would have been nice. The microwave, fridge, and bar sink were a big plus. The T.V. was no big deal, but that's not why I stay in a hotel.” Dec 10, 2008 by
Teresa from Redding,CA
“This is a business hotel in the financial district. Catering to the single business person. Not good for a leisure trip with a friend to the city.” Oct 29, 2008 by
Grace
“Very nice hotel, if you're a minimalist. The location was at the Embarcadero. It was a far walk to the main downtown area or other destinations. It's great if you're there for business travel, but that’s it. Parking was public at the Embarcadero at $36 a day.

“If you are doing business in the financial district, this hotel will be fine.” Oct 8, 2008 by
“Hotel, TV too small, bed too small and is not comfortable.” Sep 17, 2008 by

“The location is relatively close to the Piers and was centrally located to many of the tourist locations such as Market Street shopping and Pier 39. The entire hotel is kept clean and the staff was very friendly. I appreciated a cabinet being available on our floor where you could grab extra blankets, irons, etc rather than have to ask staff. The room was quite small and at times felt confining.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Chris from Capitola, CA
“Clean, fairly priced and a decent location. I think that I would stay again.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Annette from Long Beach, CA
“Super clean, comfy, nighttime staff could use some customer service improvement- not terribly friendly. Great to have coffee, water, laundry facilities. Oh, No Jacuzzi! Great bedding! Great lobby and location.” Aug 15, 2008 by
Chuck from Los Angeles, CA
“Club Quarters in San Francisco has a great location, walking distance to the Embarcadero, Chinatown, and North Beach. It's a very modern, business style hotel with smallish rooms and a European feel. A nice touch is the Elephant and Castle bar, right next door. Overall, an excellent hotel experience.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Lisa from Reno, NV
“Excellent for business or pleasure. Many extras such as free bottled water on each floor, and access to extra blankets pillows each floor. Great coffee and tea set up downstairs lobby, Several lobby computers for use, and great lobby atmosphere.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Cathy from Graysville, OH
“We found this hotel to be a great value with a good location (right next to the Transamerica building so always easy to find). The staff was good, immediately moving us to a new room when the supposedly non-smoking room we were given smelled of cigar smoke. The room was clean and comfortable and well-appointed while being small. The serve-yourself bottled water and guest request closet in the hallway were a nice touch. The lobby/lounge had 24 hour coffee and tea service, lots of comfortable seating and 3 computers complete with printers for guest use. The adjoining bar/restaurant was nice (I do not like to travel with a laptop on vacation). We were on vacation, and did not intend to spend a lot of time in our room, so the size did not bother us at all. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.” Aug 2, 2008 by
Howard from Kaneohe, HI
“Great location but room was too small for two unrelated people. I was with an adult relative; bed was said to be a queen but did not seem so; more towels could have been provided, not every guest stays alone or is related.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Tony from Fresno, CA
“This hotel in SF is a great hotel if you are not traveling for the hotel. If you want a great hotel experience, stay somewhere else. Instead, the hotel (great for business travelers) appears new, modern and very clean. The rooms are small, but unless you plan on spending a lot of time in your room, this is not a problem. The hotel does not have a parking structure, but instead you have to use a nearby lot or garage. We used the garage at One Embarcadero Center, which is right across the street, and had no problems whatsoever. In fact, the in out parking that we had was still cheaper than most downtown hotels overnight parking. The hotel is conveniently located 3 blocks from Chinatown and just a little bit further from Union Square and North Beach. If you need a cab, go to the front of the Hilton on Kearney and there is curbside cab service. You may have to wait, but it sure beats hailing a cab in busy SF. The hotel is worth the money, offers free bottled water (you fill it yourself!) and has a couple of computers to use for free in a rather nice lounge area beyond the front desk and elevators. Hope this helps.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Bryan from Picture Butte, AB CA
“Was nice and secure. Decent location. A bit noisy in the mornings.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Jacqueline from Modesto, CA
“The hotel itself is nice, very clean and comfortable, but the lack of parking was a big nuisance. Downtown San Francisco is very noisy and smells like garbage, but that's not the hotels fault, but I am unlikely to stay there again because of these three factors.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Emily from Bound Brook, NJ
“We enjoyed the location and free internet this hotel had to offer, but we were harassed by housekeeping to tip daily (we usually tip 1x at the end) she actually said 'no tip, no service' and she meant it! The walls are so extremely thin that we could hear someone in the room next to us sneeze. The beds are uncomfortable and small (they call them queen size, but they look like doubles to me) and the pillows are very thin.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Laurie from Running Springs, CA
“Great for visitors to the city on vacation or business.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Beth from Hollister, CA
“This room did not accommodate 2 adults like I asked for. I would not recommend this room to anyone traveling with 2 or more.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Lissa from Gilbert, AZ
“Nice location and front lobby was nice to wait in. Close to everything. Great location.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Kelly from Arroyo Grande, CA
“I was surprised when I arrived at the hotel that there was no parking and no valet service. I was disappointed to see the size of the bathroom. I did feel fairly safe, as you must have a key to access the elevator.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Andrea from Williams, CA
“Club Quarters was very clean. The rooms are fairly small but would work well for a business traveler. I didn't like how they used strong smelling air fresheners in the AC. The smell was so strong anytime we turned the unit on it gave us headaches. I finally had my husband take it out and set it in the hallway. The only other thing was you couldn't open the windows for fresh air. The hotel staff was friendly and the hotel felt safe and secure.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Samantha from Fair Oaks, CA
“Close to activities and MUNI line. Good if you're not spending a lot of time in the room, as they are very small, with only a small window but it was clean, updated and nicely decorated and staff is very nice, beds are small.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Kathy from El Dorado Hills, CA
“My husband and I traveled with our three young children, we had two rooms and it wasn't enough space. Great hotel for business traveler or if traveling alone.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Roberto from Santa Barbara, CA
“Any more than one person will have a hard time fitting in these miniscule rooms.”
