• Hotel was beautiful, great location, very friendly and helpful staff.

“Great hotel in SF. You can walk anywhere or take the cable car, which stops in the front of the hotel. Hotel staff was always friendly and gave us great recommendations for dinner. The only thing the hotel was missing was a hot tub after those walks up the SF hills.”

• The hotel was very stately and well kept the staff was helpful and friendly.
• The parking was $45 a night plus an additional $6 SF tax. There was no warning of this abusive charge.

“This hotel was everything you'd expect in a 4 star hotel. It is reminiscent of a bygone era when hotels had a stately charm and quiet dignity. We started off on a sour note with the outrageous parking fee and being booked in a room that was already occupied but the rest of our stay was great.”

• The lobby employees, including bellman were superb.
• The restaurant was too expensive.

“The hotel was beautiful. The employees were very helpful. The room was great. For a leisure traveler, I would suggest staying in another part of town. This is a great place for business travelers.”

• Beautiful lobby, friendly staff.
• No 2 bed, non-smoking rooms available during my stay. Select Guest Program membership not noted on my stay even though I called ahead.

“Pros: Beautiful lobby. Staff was friendly. They didn't seem overcrowded or noisy even though it was "fully committed". Close to BART station. Free wireless internet. Cons: Elevators were slow. There weren't enough pillows for a king size bed and the pillows were not firm. There was no way to close off the mini bar part of the TV. console and watch TV. at the same time.”

• Hotel was very clean and staff was friendly helpful, great concierge and doormen.
• Asked for a double bed ahead of time but still ended up with a king, though staff was quick to get us a rollaway bed at no additional cost.

“We have stayed here before and love the free sour balls in the lobby before heading out for the day! We also had a great drink in the bar.”

• The over all look was beautiful, and it was in a great location.

• Expensive restaurant- $20 for ham and egg breakfast?

“Stayed her before, seemed a little nicer this time. Each time we have to beg for a room with two beds- front desk reminds us of how we got the reservation, and although generally accommodating, act like it is kind of a chore. No extra charge here though like there was at the over-rated Benson Hotel in Portland, Oregon. ($20 a day for a second bed).”

• This was a wonderful place to stay during our visit.
• There was nothing we didn't like!

“My sister, daughter and I went to San Francisco for the first time! This hotel was fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly and efficient, our room was beautiful and the location was great. It was within walking distance of many parts of the city. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.”

“This has got to be one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff - all staffs were super friendly, helpful, and pleasant at all times. Hotel was spotless, bed comfy, good location, and they even surprised me with birthday treats. Incredible stay!”

• Valet was pretty expensive considering there were self-parking garages a block away for half the price.

“My stay here at the omni was so wonderful! My husband and I arrived for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary and must say they fulfilled any needs I had! When we first arrived, we were greeted by several men who welcomed us and told us where to go. Carmen at the front desk was extremely helpful about their hotel restaurant and told me that my request for a king sized bed on a high floor had been all set which was awesome! The rooms were so comfortable yet had some flair to it! The bathrooms were surprisingly big and had some great toiletries! My husband pointed out to me that the housekeeping left a handwritten note, welcoming us, which was very thoughtful to hand write! I did have the opportunity to go work out in their gym, which was fully loaded! Had bottled water, towels, and fruit available (self-serve) for your workout and their equipment is very new and not withered. Not busy at all and was pretty big for a hotel gym! I really enjoyed! We were in and out of the hotel the entire weekend, but every time we left or entered, someone was always there to greet us!”

• Beautiful hotel! Lots of surprising amenities awaiting us as we entered the room.
• Parking is obsolete! Valet too expensive!

“Beautiful, classic hotel with spacious room. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent. It's in a great location-near Chinatown, Embarcadero, Union Square-that makes it easy to walk to a variety of spots. The room was lovely and seemingly soundproof-I never heard anyone from any room nearby or in the hallway. I loved it.”

• I loved the people at the hotel they were so helpful.
• The cost to park was 40$ a night on top of the high price for the room and food.

“The staff at this hotel was great. My children were happy with goodie bags that they received. While on vacation our vehicle was vandalized and a window broken out even though we were not at the hotel when it happen the hotel help make arrangements for the window to be fixed and had it done when we came back from the giants game! The giants did not win but the hotel hit a home run in our book!”

• Excellent in every way, wonderful service, very nice helpful staff (very helpful, warm, friendly people). Just thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations.

• A few blocks further from BART and key area than I'd like to be.

• Spacious rooms that felt comfortable for a 6'3" man (me).
• Forced Valet at a very high ($45.00/night + city fee) rate with horrible service (did not hold the door for my fiancée - utterly rude).

“This building (a very old San Francisco 17-story) in the heart of the financial district (not Union Square at all) was a bank until renovated five years ago to become the Omni SF. I was impressed by the service of the front desk and service workers but not the valet. Three times they did not bother opening the door for my fiancée' when we came or left, I had to go find the valet when we first arrived at the hotel and after bringing my car around, while sitting in the lounge I observed him to leave my car in downtown San Francisco with the keys in the ignition! All this and it is a forced valet situation due to the location of the hotel at about $50.00 a night!”

• Parking was very expensive.

“The staff was very efficient and nice. Location is excellent in close proximity to Chinatown, Union Square, and not far from Pier 39. Room was a bit small however very clean and the amenities including turndown were outstanding. I parked up the street one block for $7.00 overnight (!) versus hotel valet parking at $51.00. This hotel was an outstanding value however and I would not hesitate to stay there again and recommend it.”

• The staff was eager to please and help out in any way. They were courteous, friendly and went out of their way to make sure our weekend was special!
• I have no complaints at all.

“The hotel is in an ideal location for the weekend leisure traveler! We walked to North Beach, Fisherman's wharf and to Union Square with ease. Our room was luscious! The ambiance was heartwarming; the staff was gracious, friendly and completely went out of their way to be helpful.”

• Very luxurious and high quality hotel.
• The area was very deserted and parking costs in this area were half the price of the room.

“Great, but valet service was $45 a day and local self park lots were $30 a day. This cost is very high and additional to the cost of the room. Wish this was included.”

• Everyone was extremely helpful and the accommodations were beautiful.
• There is nothing I can bad about the hotel except for the fact that there is no self parking, and even that is something that I can get over.

“The hotel was beautiful and central to everything. It was a short 5 minute walk to the Muni and the cable cars stop right in front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the children too were given 5-star treatment, getting a goodie bag at check-in. We would definitely stay here again!”

“The hotel staff was the most friendly and service oriented I have ever experienced. The location is ideal for business or tourist as it is very convenient to the Financial district and China Town. The immediate proximity to the cable car line also makes most tourist attractions accessible. The hotel was beautifully appointed quite and comfortable.”

• The hotel staff and the staff allowing us to pay for an upgrade.
• Hotel Garage costs are expensive.

“I would consider this hotel a 4 star hotel. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The kids loved the room. It was decorated in Pottery Barn decor and was connected to our room. The cost of parking was terrible! We spent $55 per night to use Omni's garage. I would recommend using the St. Mary's garage up the street for $7/night. Also, we are Omni Select Members (which allows you to get comp coffee) and we needed to give the hotel a reminder for our comp'd coffee the first morning. I believe it was a honest mistake because they gave us our coffee the next morning without delay or another reminder. I suggest you become a Select Member prior to your stay (no additional cost) so you can get complimentary items (coffee, WIFI, points when you upgrade for other stays with the OMNI, newspaper each morning).”

• This hotel provided many free extras like, a kids gift bag.
• Can't think of one bad thing.

“This Omni as well as the Omni in New York have both been five-star experiences. Before I stayed in the San Francisco Omni, I joined there frequent-stay program (it's free) and I feel they took even greater care of our family while we were there. Free gift-bags for the kids one day, free disposable camera for them on the 4th of July, and free coffee and coco every morning delivered to the room. The staff were always friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to serve one's needs!”

• Decor was not my favorite, but appropriate for the business.

• Initially placed in a smoking room!

“Nice old hotel that's been renovated. The staff has an attitude that is not always customer friendly. I asked for a quiet room. I was first placed in a smoking room. I didn't even know California still allowed smoking in hotel rooms. Next room was near an elevator. I finally spoke to a manager. Got the usual we're filled up but I'll see what I can do and finally got a quiet room. Why can't they just do this the first time.”
