• Great location- middle of Union Square. Clean room. Good housekeeping.
• Terrible customer service. Unfriendly check-in staff. Expensive parking.

House keeping shows up very early-8am so if you don't want to be disturbed put out the card.”

• The location was great for shopping and the event we went to see. It is also close to the train stations.

“The Grand Hyatt Union Square is located right in the middle of the best shopping and close to terrific restaurants, China Town and transportation. The rooms were comfortable, the beds were inviting and overall everything was clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

“Great hotel for the price. Great location for shopping and dining. We parked at union square for about $20 less than the hotel charges. Less than a 5 minute walk. Would stay there again!”

• They were there for me when I needed some special stuff.
• It took them a long time to get what I needed.

“Nice people, and very courteous. They went out of their way to make sure that I had what I needed. The iron in the room didn't work, and they brought a new one up in about ten minutes. I needed an extra collar stay for a shirt and, even though they didn't seem to know what it was at first, they found two of them for me after about 15 minutes. It was my fault that I asked the wrong guy (must have been the bellhop), but he took ownership of it, and seemed sincerely happy that he was able to get them to me. It helped me a lot, and I was on my way. They checked my bags quickly and easily so that I could pick them up later on checkout day, and they got them back to me quickly when I was back and ready to leave town. The service rep that checked me in gave me her name and wrote it on the key card holder so I would have a point of contact if I needed anything, and that was a nice touch. All in all, I feel like they really did take pride in the fact that I was a happy customer. I'll go back.”

• Very clean, fresh and nice. Friendly, sweet and good quality.
• No free wireless internet access.

“We stayed in Grand Hyatt Hotel. We were very happy with it. Every morning room was spotless cleaned, linens were changed and fresh towels were in the bathroom. The personnel was very sweet and nice.”

• Noisy, overrated terrible food.

“We stayed at this hotel after coming to see the St. Patrick's parade in the city. As we did not know where the $49 per night area was to park our car in this hotel we pulled up in front and got yelled at by the valet parking man. He was huge and intimidating, more suited to KGB than a hotel. For dinner we decided to go to the nicer restaurant on the top of the hotel. The staff was clueless, we had 3 different waiters, and the food was salty and inedible and took forever to come from the kitchen. By now we are all frustrated and tired so as least we have comfortable beds to accommodated 2 adults and 2 children. At midnight the fun begins, music from a nearby nightclub kept us awake until 2:30 am then the sirens started. By 6:00 am we could not wait to go out to a Starbucks, after we returned I asked housekeeping for 2 bath towels and as there were only 2 in the bathroom and 4 of us. We waited and waited. Yes the towels did arrive an hour later as we waited at the elevator to check out! If you want peaceful, good food and courteous staff this is not the hotel to go to.”

• The location couldn't be better. Centrally located in Union Square with quick and easy access to the pier and other tourist attractions.
• I was downgraded to a twin rather than king, but upgraded to a higher level. Heating was broke, but fixed promptly.

“We had a few mishaps with the heating and room size upon arriving, but everything was fixed promptly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the rest of the stay was very pleasant. The concierge was more than willing to be very helpful on a busy weekend.”

• No free internet. Parking costs $50/night. On the weekends you can park on the street overnight in some places.

• No whirlpool, no Jacuzzi anywhere.

“Pros: Amazing View of the city from my room. Nice Gym, great location in Union Square. Restaurant View was amazing. Nice staff. Cons: I wish they had a Jacuzzi somewhere. A whirlpool tub would have been nice too.”

• The bed was so comfortable! We really had to make ourselves get out of it and go and enjoy the day.
• The were too many bellmen. I couldn't tell who I was supposed to tip.

“The hotel is nice and very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend going to the restaurant on the top of the hotel even if it is just for a cup of coffee (which is what we did) the view is just breathtaking. The rooms were adequate size and very comfortable, and the location is right on union sqare. I would definitely stay here next time I am in the City.”

• Location was great. Room was very nice.

“As with all 4 stars the hotel food and drink prices were high, but the location and ambience was excellent, right on Union Square and close to clubs and restaurants. The overnight parking fee was outrageous - $56 with tax! Next time, I will get my own parking in the area.”
