• Location.
• Being told a smelly smoking room was non-smoking when it wasn't, moved 3 times.

“Being lied to about about smoking/non-smoking floors/rooms isn't acceptable. Non smoking floors are clearly labeled as such in this hotel and the stench on the floors not so placarded is obvious.”

• Unsavory neighborhood. Very loud in room from street noise.

• Loved the location.
• Did not like paying $40 for the parking on top of hotel cost.

“We have stayed at the Parc 55 before and love this hotel. I wish the parking fee wasn't so high. We loved the bar and the breakfast buffet was good.”

• Very chic.

“The hotel was great, the location was terrific and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. This hotel offers lots of little perks such as free beverages (soda, juice, snacks) and chic, modern rooms. I would stay here again.”

• Very clean, modern and efficient. Centrally located. Met all expectations.
• The only thing I did not like was that the registration and entrance levels were on different floors.

• I loved the hotel, the location, and the Cityhouse restaurant.
• Not the hotel's fault, but there were too many transients in the area.

“Parc 55 hotel really impresses me every time I stay there! Their new restaurant, Cityhouse, has a fabulous Rib Eye, their rooms are upscale, clean and comfortable, and their location is within walking distance (.5 mile) of the Orpheum Theatre.”

• Great location. Conveniently located to public transportation and walking in the city. Nice room, comfortable bed, quiet, nice linens.

“We were looking for a nice hotel in close proximity to public transportation and comfortable walking around the city. Parc 55 is conveniently located for Trolley, BART and the bus stops, and we used them all. We were able to walk to restaurants and shopping area and sightseeing stops were a short hop away on any form of public transportation. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff friendly and accommodating. I always look for a comfortable bed and nice linens and we were not disappointed. I had only one slightly negative comment. The TV reception (although new flat screens and Hi Def) was poor and came in and out. We weren't in our room that long so it was not an issue. Not sure if that was the TV or the reception. Comfortable, friendly lounge/bar area. Nice restaurant. I would definitely stay at Parc 55 again. Great location, beautiful hotel, nicely redone. Absolutely no complaints.”

“This hotel charged 12.95/night for wifi. Simple motels at 1/3 price offer it free. Business center charged $5/min for internet access. Water in room $4.50/small bottle which even in an upscale wine shop was 1.50. Usury and the staff rudely stated that was what they charged period and they were going to do nothing about it. Then the staff tried to sell restaurant services which again were outrageous.”

• Friendly staff, very professional, great location, great rooms.

“This hotel was perfect from start to finish. Our room was not ready yet when we arrived and the host upgraded us without hesitation. The room was fantastic. Everyone at the hotel from the bellhops to the cleaning staff was willing to help with any of our needs. Highly recommended!”

• Beautiful rooms and public spaces. Great location on Union Square.
• The valet parking was $54 a night. We parked elsewhere.

“Parc 55 is a very modern hotel right in the heart of Union Square. If you are looking to stay in Union Square area, this place could not be beat for the price. The hotel restaurants and bars looked very upscale. Since we were traveling with a 3 year old, we settled for the.”

“Scary neighborhood. We saw stabbing, a protest rally and lots of hookers on the streets outside our room. We had 4:00am false fire alarm and had to walk down 16 floors to a bad area at night. Really scary.”

“Being just a block away from the Powell St. BART station was very convenient. I felt like we were right in the middle of it all, but once up in our room at Parc 55, sufficiently removed from the
hot tub
to relax. Friendly staff, cool design, clean, comfortable rooms and all for a
very reasonable price.”

“Lobby was nice and spacious. Hotel staff from bellhop, concierge, housekeeping etc were all great. Location was perfect as it was in a prime location accessible to mall, shops, bus line, underground train, union square, restaurant and right in the middle of happening part of town without being noisy and crowded.”

• The maid was very friendly, staff in general very nice.
• You are charged for everything. I expected to be charged for air.

“It's okay.
On the edge of the tenderloin. Room was cheap thanks to priceline, but we had to have a car as we were looking at real estate. Parking expensive. It was like $13 a day for internet. I would expect free wifi in this day and age.”

• The peaceful lobby. The streets at that corner are chaotic; the hotel is zen-like upon entering.
• The concierge, while helpful, was not always there.

“I am a very experienced traveler, and could not have been more pleased. The room was wonderful. I requested a change because I had a room with an adjoining door and don't like that. They were very gracious. The bellmen were particularly helpful and informative.”

“The location of this hotel was convenient, with meter parking around the corner. There were many restaurants and shopping areas. We requested double beds during check in and were given the room without problems. The room was pretty spacious and clean.”

• Very well located for shopping and access to most downtown attractions.
• We were on the 9th floor and there was some street noise.

“The Parc 55 is a large, very nice hotel. The public spaces are attractive and contemporary, and there is a beautiful hotel restaurant, where we had an outstanding-though expensive-breakfast one morning. Our room was similarly attractive and contained everything from an upscale hotel, though it lacked a refrigerator. The bed was very comfortable, and the climate control system was particularly good and extremely quiet. Unfortunately there was some street noise, though nothing unexpected given the busy location. Like other such hotels, access to the internet is an additional charge. The staff we interacted with was uniformly pleasant and efficient. I would definitely go back.”

• Great view from 29th floor.
• Room was not ready at 3 pm, was told to come back at 4 pm, then still not ready.

“Very convenient location, short walk from Bart station. Room was not ready at 3 pm. receptionist was rude and won't tell me what floor she was going to assign me. Was told to come back at 4 pm. So we had to basically stay near the area for an hour. By the time we came back, a long line had formed at the lobby desk, had to wait 15 minutes in line. And was told the room was still not ready. But they upgraded the room for the inconvenience. Nice view from the high floors. Bed was comfy.”

“For a business trip, this hotel was in a very convenient location. The housekeeping was very friendly as was the guest service staff. However, the valet parking attendants were very curt when it comes to assistance with luggage storage. Overall, it was a good experience.”

• Loved looking at the view from the restaurant and room.
• Seemed very congested at the door way - too long check in lines.

“Clearly they care more about business travelers than weekender. Room furnishings, lamps etc where Howard Johnson level - this place was clean and OK. It was noisy, but it is in the middle of the city with concrete canyons, maybe they need thicker glass, I have had rooms right next to airports and not heard the jets, so clearly it can be done.”

• Located near shopping.
• Very noisy at night and in a grimy neighborhood.

“The ear plugs provided in the room where a clue about the noise levels at night. Extremely noisy from people out late partying on the street, loud traffic, and poor sound proofing in the hallways. This might be a 4 star hotel in a different neighborhood, not bordering on the Tenderloin and the grubby street scene. We felt the hotel was misrepresented and would not stay here again at any price.”

• Art nouveau decor in lobby.
• No warmth and rooms were very plain, like an airport hotel.

“This is not a bad hotel - for someone who is okay with hotels by the airport (although this is located in a bustling part of SF). Unfortunately, there were tons of air crew checking in all the time! So long lines for check-in and for the concierge. It also was OK rooms - plasma TV, and a sofa, and comfortable king-size bed. Location was the only plus, but we decided we would never stay at this hotel again. It lacked the cozy, warm factor.”
