• Convenient location at good price through Priceline, very clean and orderly, attractive public areas, pleasant and easy check-in, helpful staff.
• Direct door connection to adjoining room. No newspapers available in lobby.

• Very convenient location, classy atmosphere, and excellent service.
• Extremely expensive drinks, no pool, and did not have pay per view event. Also construction on going.

“Gorgeous room and hotel. Modern theme situated in the heart of the Union Square district. Extremely pleasant and accommodating staff. Bar was extremely quite and dark with very few people. Most likely due to high prices for drinks. But still very appealing if your looking for someplace quite and comfortable.”

• Clean, convenient location, friendly staff.
• Nothing to dislike about this hotel.

“The staff was well organized and very friendly. The hotel quality and service met our expectation. The rooms were comfortable, big, clean and spacious. It was a delight to spend our three nights in such a quiet, well managed hotel with such excellent service in this summer. The location of the hotel is convenient. I would recommend this hotel to those who will visit the bay area whether business or personal travel.”

• Spacious, beautifully decorated rooms. Friendly & helpful staff.
• The only thing that could have made this hotel better was a pool/spa.

“The J.W. Marriott was first class in every way. I loved the lay out of the room, it made a standard hotel room feel more like a suite. Separate tub and shower in bathroom was nice. Liked personal butler service but wish we didn't have to trouble them every time we wanted a bucket of ice. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Location was great. We loved this hotel.”

• Very comfortable. Bed and bath awesome. Great TV.
• All the noise from city could be heard and valet park only.

“This hotel was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was more than I expected actually. The room was fantastic. The bed was so comfortable I was asleep immediately. The bathroom was awesome and the flat screen TV great. Room service was also great. I would stay here again definitely.”

• Awesome room! Very modern and upscale!
• $45 valet parking.

“Was so surprise when I walked into the hotel- the inside is chic and warm in color (drastic comparison to the dingy Downtown SF?) Hotel is within walking distance to all the shopping. Staff was courteous and helpful. Tried to fight the $45 valet parking by finding somewhere else but in the end gave in to the horrendous charge because we were too lazy to find somewhere else Downtown to park.”

• The bed was very comfortable.
• In order to see the clock from the bed, I had to get almost completely out of bed.

“This is a hotel located very close to Union Square, with many good restaurants nearby. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.”

• We love the general architecture of this hotel & the room was large & comfortable.
• The high price for parking.

“This is a beautifully appointed hotel with a very good restaurant and an extremely attentive & friendly staff. Just 1 block up from Union Square, it is close to great shopping, theaters & was a quick cab ride to AT&T Park. We would recommend it to friends.”

• Great location, very attractive appointments, cheerful, helpful staff.
• Hotel's parking garage very expensive; much cheaper locations down the block. No microwave or refrigerator in rooms.

“The J.W. Marriott Hotel is a true 4 Star Deluxe, located in a great section of the City, within easy walking distance of many attractions, cable car stops and Metro stations. Comfortable, quiet rooms with beautiful bathrooms. Friendly, helpful & attentive staff. Overall, a superior hotel, which greatly enhanced our family's vacation stay in San Francisco.”

• I liked the overall interior design of the hotel and it's classy feeling.
• Improve the amount of noise leakage into the room from outside.

“They really know what they're doing at the J.W. Marriott in Union Square, San Francisco. From the moment you arrive at the hotel, the staff is very interested in making sure that all of your needs are met, and that your stay is a 5 star stay - even though it is ranked a 4 star.”

• I can't find anything wrong with it.

“Staff was incredibly friendly, lobby was beautiful, level III (the bar) was really cool. Then I open the door to the room I was amazed! Huge room, bed was so comfortable, bathroom was gorgeous! Marble everywhere. Stand-up shower and bath tub. Super clean! They even came in the evening to turn the linens. Oh and chocolates on the pillow. I can't say enough great things about this place, if I ever stay in S.F. again I will be stay here again!”

• I loved the location and how easy the check-in and out was. Personnel were very friendly.
• The service at the level. Restaurant was poor. Our waitress never checked on us until we were ready to go.

• Beautiful room, bathroom, fantastic (best in life!) Bed and comforter, water and coffee in lobby.
• Had to request a fridge and make due with limited drawers.

“The hotel, staff and location were all excellent. The only problem was not having a dresser for clothes and enough hangers in the closet and having to request a fridge for the room. Also, I am used to having ice available on each floor without having to request it.”

“This was a very good experience. The room was very comfortable and the bedding was superb. Location is outstanding and the lack of a restaurant is minor when you consider all of the great eateries within a block of the Hotel. Would love to stay there again.”

• The location was absolutely perfect for a night on the town!
• The lobby seemed very cold and uninviting.

“Upon arrival I was told that the hotel was completely sold out and they only had a king size bed to offer me. I had planned a special evening for me and 3 other women and was so embarrassed to find this information out and did not know what to tell them. In speaking with the manager, he had compassion for my situation and put me in the only suite they had available. He really saved the evening for me and I am truly grateful for that.”

• Use of color in the rooms - not the typical, boring business hotel palette.
• Very noisy - lot's of noise from the street, perhaps because I was only on the 7th floor.

“I had a pleasant stay and while the room was a little on the small side, it was fine for one person. I really enjoyed the attractiveness of the room, the wide-screen television, and good amenities. Street noise was loud throughout the evening. The level of room service seemed very high, except that the shower cap came in a box that had obviously been rather beaten up. I noticed it mostly because it was so inconsistent with all the attention to detail. Lobby is undergoing repair, so I ranked public spaces with a low score. The concierge desk was very helpful, as were the porters.”

• Charge a lot for Internet and it's not 24 hour clock.

“This hotel is under renovation. The noise is not noticeable, but they've given up on trying to keep the dust down. It's an atrium type lobby and they were working on that area but the fake plants near the elevators and the railings around the lobby were white and thick with dust. The surfaces in the room were also dusty. The concierges are helpful and knowledgeable. Location is unbeatable.”

• I was booked for a 2nd night but hotel couldnt find the second reservations.

“I extended my stay from 1 night to 2, when I checked out the after 1st night and attempted to check in for 2nd night, the hotel informed me that I didnt have reservations - so I became frustrated and just left.”

• Construction, no icemaker on the floor.

“This hotel is located about 1 block from Union Square. We paid an additional $30 a night to upgrade so we had a view. The staff was very help and polite. Had trouble getting our car out of valet parking - had to wait over an hour for the car. Car parked in front of ours had a dead battery.”

• Coffee was not available everyday in the lobby. Its a very nice gesture to have complimentary coffee in the lobby.

• The bathroom was large with ample counter space.
• The room was a bit cramped and the room door was partially blocked by a structural column.

“The location in relation to Union Square is unbeatable. We were able to walk to any shopping and dining that we wanted. The restaurants and bars in this part of the city do close a bit early, so plan on venturing to other areas for nightlife.”
