Gwen from Eureka, CA
“If you want to stay in the Fisherman's Wharf district, this is the place. Just be prepared for interesting decor. I felt like I was back in the 60s or 70s. The bathroom space is tiny, but larger than some city hotels I've stayed in before. The room was comfortable. We almost asked to stay an extra night, but we chose to continue on with our journey. I would stay there again, except next time, I want to stay near Golden Gate Park.” Jan 4, 2008 by
John from Modesto, CA
“The room we had looked out on some air conditioners no view at all.” Jan 4, 2008 by
David from Ventura, CA
“Great hotel with neat decor and a perfect location for being a tourist or walking over into North Beach for lounging and/or shopping.” Jan 4, 2008 by
Teri from Del Mar, CA
“Wonderful place to stay if you want to be at Fisherman's Wharf.” Jan 3, 2008 by
Gadi from Indianapolis, IN
“We really like the new decor of the hotel and the design is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable, although small. The fireplaces outside the lobby were very nice and a wonderful idea.” Jan 3, 2008 by
Scott from Crestview Hills, KY
“The location is the ONLY attractive feature of this hotel.” Dec 28, 2007 by
Geno from Buellton, CA
“This hotel was great for us thank you.” Dec 22, 2007 by
Rob from Fort Worth, TX
“The proximity of the Sheraton to desired locations was nice. Unfortunately the proximity to noisy streets (and the bus depot) made sleeping past 6:30 am impossible. I would rather stay in a Motel 6 or a no brand roach motel that to stay at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf ever again.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Bruce from Boca Raton, FL
“Overall, the hotel is excellent. Easy walking distance to fisherman's wharf and buses, trains, cable cars. The room was a good size, but the shower/toilet area was very small. The door lock failed and the door had to be manually bypassed to gain entry.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Cristy from San Jose, CA
“The hotel is a good choice if you are looking to stay in the very touristy fisherman's wharf area of San Francisco. The hotel was recently renovated and has a warm, inviting, modern style. The hotel staff is friendly and ready to assist with any needs.” Dec 14, 2007 by
Jim from Sherwood, OR
“I expected more out of a 4 star hotel. There was no lounge and no decent restaurant.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Melissa from Citrus Heights, CA
“I liked the location of the hotel and the staff was very friendly. The parking was expensive, I thought, at $43/nt. and I did not like the beds. Outside of that, it was a pleasant stay.” Nov 25, 2007 by
Nina from Washington, DC
“The hotel will be beautiful once the renovation is complete. I was surprised by the quality of the rooms, although, our room was on the smaller side.” Oct 31, 2007 by
Charlene from San Diego, CA
“Overall a very nice hotel. Nice nautical theme with modern touches. Big screen TV. In the room was very nice. Decor was very upscale.” Oct 18, 2007 by
Marie from Post Falls, ID
“The staff are very good, the lobby and other facilities are excellent. The rooms could be worked on. They are small but could be decorated better.” Oct 10, 2007 by
Gail from Gold River, CA
“I was thrilled at first to get the hotel room where we wanted to stay. It was a "nautical theme" and from the pictures, looked very nice and the rooms looked spacious. We arrived to a tiny room with barely enough room for a queen bed and the decor was more like Asian super modern. (White, pink, teal, canary yellow) it looked like a little girls room and not the room I wanted for a romantic getaway for my husband's birthday.” Oct 9, 2007 by
Laura from Clarksboro, NJ
“Great location but I would not consider this a 4 star hotel. Room was small and bathroom was especially small.” Oct 4, 2007 by
Mason from Seattle, WA
“A good location, friendly staff in the lobby and bar area. The 4 star distinction ends in the hallway from the lobby. Rooms are 2.5 stars at best. Construction on the rooms above us was very noisy at 8am in the morning. When we complained they sent coffee. Hopefully this was just a remodeling phase to upgrade the rest of the hotel.” Oct 4, 2007 by
Kate from Houston, TX
“I had a horrible experience at this hotel. Requested a non-smoking with a king or queen and was given a smoking with two fulls. The hotel staff was unable to change rooms because of an overbooking.” Oct 2, 2007 by
Ben from Reno, NV
“The hotel had helpful friendly staff. I was very disappointed that the only room choice was a smoking room. I will definitely not stay at this hotel again for that reason.” Oct 2, 2007 by
Jay from Calgary, AB CA
“The hotel is in a great location. The hotel was able to relocate me to a non smoking room but we were stuck with two double beds. Good thing my girl friend and I are thin people as it would not be suitable for two large people unless they wanted to sleep separate.” Oct 1, 2007 by
Bill from New Jersey
“I read some negative reviews and I thinking it can't be that bad, besides some people do exaggerate. Well my first impressions, seeing this place were "jaw dropping". I got a 2 star hotel on a 4 star price. My profession as a flight crew gave me the opportunity to stay in numerous hotels, and I have seen many 4 star hotels before. I am puzzled how they are claiming 4 stars. (The hotel association will hear about this), I wanted to treat my family in a 4 star hotel so money was not an issue but at the end the only thing that I paid for was just a 4 stars price. The rooms ware old, small and with squeaky floor. It had no amenities like microwave or refrigerator. Anything you need you will be charged you for it, even a morning coffee. Small bottle of water they are charging $4.75, sodas $2.50. I have seen some positive reviews here and I figure the only reason for that is that these people are from outside the US and perhaps there expectations were lesser. I recommend trying finding a hotel in the city. Transportation to Fisherman's Wharf is very easy and convenient not too mentioned cheap. ($1.50 each way on the "F" train). Also the parking overnight from previous posts is correct, $46 each night that is ludicrous. How do these people sleep at night? All the other hotels in the area have free parking and free internet access.” Sep 26, 2007 by
Paul from Lake Oswego, OR
“I have no idea how this hotel could be rated as 4star. Perhaps you can buy extra stars. Stayed on second floor and hallway from main elevator to north end of hotel are dark and narrow and floors uneven. Finish of areas of the common areas outside lobby and the rooms are substandard. Bed spread was incredibly heavy not comfortable with or without it. Shower/tub incredibly narrow, entire bathroom size of postage stamp. As we plan to return to area several times a year, we visited 5 other hotels within 3-4 blocks all of which were 3 star and superior to this one.” Sep 24, 2007 by
Anna from Castle Rock, CO
“We really enjoyed our stay, but for the price paid, I would have expected our room to be completely away from the construction and renovation. Also the window looking out was filthy, so we left the window closed which didn't provide a view other than the bus station anyway. We brought guests and were a bit embarrassed by the condition of the hotel, i.e. construction.” Sep 22, 2007 by
John from Kirkland, WA
“This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, even if it wasn't undergoing a major renovation.” Sep 21, 2007 by
Larry from Mentone, AL
“Had poor rooms, they were doing construction on the hotel all days, plastic taped up to cover hallways, dirty bed sheets upon arrival.” Sep 17, 2007 by
Heather from Carlsbad, CA
“This is not a 4-star hotel. I am a gold level with star wood resorts and they treated me horribly because I booked through a "third party" provider. I do not smoke and was stuck in a smoking room for two days. Even though they sprayed the room, the smoke from the other rooms still came in to my room. I was also put on the first floor, so I could not sleep with my window open to get fresh air. The workout facility had very old equipment as well.” Sep 14, 2007 by
Michael from Santa Clarita, CA
“This hotel is horrible, old, and dirty. No restaurant was assigned a smoking room. Not convenient to anywhere.” Sep 14, 2007 by
Rich from New Canaan, CT
“I'm told that this hotel is undergoing renovation it needs it. Nothing to recommend about the room itself. Other than that it was not a smoking room (we were told originally that we would need to stay in a smoking room). The renovated lobby is a big improvement and the staff was generally pleasant, particularly the concierge. One front desk employee wasn't particularly cooperative when we requested a switch to a non smoking room. They were more cooperative when I mentioned that I was a star wood preferred guest, but they certainly weren't going out of their way to accommodate some customers. Parking is outrageous $41 for one night but I can't say that I wasn't forewarned. There are better hotel options, in much more convenient neighborhood locations, elsewhere in San Francisco.” Sep 1, 2007 by
Ellen from Yarmouth Port, MA
“The hotel room itself was clean, but in no way was this, a 4 star (or even three stars). Very basic. I had to pay an additional $46 for parking for one night. I cannot express how filthy the windows were. There were many other hotels in the area; I wish I had chosen another.” Aug 22, 2007 by
Don from Eureka, CA
“I wouldn't really recommend this hotel. There are others very close by that are much nicer for about the same price. The room smelled dirty, but appeared to be fairly clean.” Aug 21, 2007 by
Glen from Phoenixville, PA
“Although in close proximity to Fisherman's Wharf, hotel is poorly managed, poorly staffed, not in good condition and fashioned poorly. Would not recommend, especially not to someone who is used to 4 and 3 star hotels. Stayed in the Argonaut last year which was simply worlds above this property.” Aug 1, 2007 by
Jennifer from Santa Barbara, CA
“I would never return. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. It was not worth the money.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Wendy from Thousand Oaks, CA
“Hotel told us they won't guarantee non-smoking or cribs if booked via an online service.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Trey from Russellville, AR
“The hotel is under major construction. The place was a mess. The staff was unfriendly. I received several charges to my room that I did not apply. They charged me $80 for breakfast and I didn't even eat there. They charged me $41/day parking even though I did not arrive until 10 PM the first night. I was extremely dissatisfied with my stay.” Jul 29, 2007 by
Clive from Chadds Ford, PA
“This hotel was a big disappointment. It was nowhere close to being a 4-star. Construction aside, it is an old, uncharming hotel with a confusing layout and brusque staff.” Jul 25, 2007 by
Lindy W. from Riverside, CA
“The location of this hotel was great, walking just a block to fisherman's wharf but they were under construction so it was a mess. There was nowhere to eat or get a drink in the hotel not even vending machines and it looked like a cheap hotel.” Jul 24, 2007 by
Ray from Oroville, CA
“I think that since they were in the progress of re-modeling their rates should have been much less.” Jul 22, 2007 by
Mark from Farmington Hills, MI
“The Sheraton at fisherman's wharf was supposed to be a 4 star hotel. It was probably more like 1-2 stars.” Jul 9, 2007 by
Shay from Hesperia, CA
“It is close to everything. But with the hotel under construction and not all the amenities available, it was not what I was hoping for .” Jun 21, 2007 by
Heather from Stockton, CA
“We were not aware that there would be a lot of construction going on at the time of our stay or we would not have stayed there. Our truck got stuck in the underground parking lot that we were told to park in when we arrived because the truck was too tall. We had to go back into the hotel and find someone to help us remove the truck so that the roof wouldn't be scratched up. They then told us to park a block away in a lot specifically for taller vehicles. This should have been clearly shown on the sign or told to us when we first arrived. The hotel will be very nice when construction is complete - in about 9 months!” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 31, 2007 by

“This hotel is under renovation It is difficult to access and the rooms are passable at best. High speed internet is barely functional.” May 27, 2007 by
Yuzo from Tokyo GB
“Post-sign for entrance was not good.” May 23, 2007 by
Lydia from Fall River Mills, CA
“I was not told about the renovation on this hotel. No valet, my truck did not fit in the garage and after we arrived were told of $41 day parking charge. Bar was a banquet set up in a small dinning room. Room had no view and was in need of a remodel.” May 14, 2007 by
richard from kalamazoo, michigan
“This hotel, aside from location, is a tourist rip-off. Our stay began with a $42/day parking fee. We were told that was about average for the area. We found a public lot one block away for $15/day! Exercise is important to us. The supposed exercise room did not include a Stairmaster, an elliptical trainer, or a non-recumbent bike. There was no lobby (honest!). The staff was "cool." The room was not truly clean, nor was the public areas. This was, for all practical purposes, a 1990's holiday inn quality tourist trap.” Apr 19, 2007 by
Janice from Irvine, CA
“The Sheraton fisherman's wharf misrepresented itself as a 4 star hotel. I would rate this hotel as a 2 star hotel. No service. My children and I dragged our own luggage into the lobby. The bellman was standing around talking. The room was disgusting. All the draperies were stained with what looked like coffee splatters. My wife said, "the draperies were gross." I took the bedspreads off the beds because they were stained with some brown color! The upholstered chair and carpet were also not clean. The room air conditioner was old and very loud! The only positive aspect of this room was the bathroom looked clean. Fortunately, we spent very little time in this room. ” Apr 18, 2007 by
Nancy from Irvine, CA
“Rooms and bathrooms were small. Some of the furnishings were shabby but we did like the bed coverings. No refrigerator in the room. Ice machine did not work. Towels were scratchy and hard.” Apr 18, 2007 by
Avesta from Los Angeles, CA
“The hotel is not a four star. The hotel is infect a 3 star. That¿s what they say at the hotel them selves.” Apr 14, 2007 by
Sana E. from Brandon, FL
“Overall it was a nice hotel, with friendly helpful staff. But I could hear the people moving around on top of me and the room carpet was not clean, and bathroom was very Narrow. Also I was in a non smoking room but could smell smoke from one of the other rooms. If I had to do it again, given the price and location I would stay at the Sheraton, if there were no other hotels with similar prices. But it did not live up to my expectation of Sheraton hotels.” Apr 13, 2007 by
Allan from Williamsville, NY
“The room was small & dreary. It overlooked a small roof littered w/ cigarette butts. The restaurant was closed. There is no way this hotel should be rated a 4 star hotel. ” Hotel Representatives:
