  • Location was great for waterfront activities and MUNI transportation.
  • There was a lot of street noise - terrible windows.

“The hotel was nice. Rooms were small but clean. The two things we did not like were the level of noise from the street (it sounded like the windows were open when they were not) and there is no complimentary breakfast (just coffee and mini biscotti). The close proximity to the waterfront/shops/dining made up for the negatives. One block to MUNI streetcar stop.”

  • Expensive parking - rates changed by check-out time - restaurant good food, but very noisy like sports bar.

“We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of the room. We had a 4th floor courtyard room - newly renovated - very quiet & comfortable. The restaurant food was very good, but the bartender was so loud that we felt like we were in a sports bar unfortunately. Otherwise, the wine at night was a beautiful touch and the location was fantastic. Bottom line, we had a wonderful time.”

  • Very clean and convenient to Fisherman's Wharf. Wine in the evening is a nice touch. Friendly staff.
  • Rooms a touch small but not unreasonable.

“The Tuscan Inn is a nice hotel in an excellent location. If you are a tourist, you are only 2 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. The staff is friendly and the rooms are very clean and well maintained. Free wine and snacks in the evening are a plus. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Tuscan Inn.”

  • Friendly staff, very accommodating with roll away bed that hey did not charge for. Good restaurant connected to hotel. Nice staff.
  • The toilet was broken upon check in, but they fixed it quickly.

“The Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf is a comfortable hotel. Unfortunately, our room was small, but after voicing my concern, we received a complimentary upgrade to a larger room (junior suite, which is the size of most typical hotel rooms), which was more comfortable. The hotel is well kept. Our room was clean and well stocked. The hotel is convenient to many visitor attractions and within walking distance of most. The hotel staff was very accommodating and willing to help with any request. I would stay at this hotel again.”

  • Great location near Fishermen's Wharf. Most of the staff was friendly.
  • Parking is too expensive and one of the valet attendants was always expecting a trip.

“We enjoyed the afternoon wine tasting. Our young children were even offered soda and cookies. The members of staff were friendly and ready to help. It has a great location and easy access to Fishermen's Wharf. We could walk to market, shops and attractions without any worry of finding parking. Note: there is a public parking across the street which costs much less than the hotel charges.”

  • Noise, dust, and water shut off during construction. Emergency exit signs obscured by construction materials, Exits obstructed.

“Indifferent stare from some of lobby staff, pass the buck. Complaint about noise, dust, and dirt, cussing workers, elevators and hallways cluttered with demolition and construction equipment, degraded emergency means of egress, all handled with palms up shrug of the shoulders.”

  • Good location to touristy things and very clean and staff was really friendly.
  • Parking was too expensive and there was some construction going on.

“This is a very cute hotel. The staff was very friendly, from the valet parking to the front desk. The lobby is relaxing. The size of my room was pretty small, but my friend's room was a decent size. However it is decorated nice and felt like everything was clean. I liked the toiletries in the bathroom. We missed out on the beer/wine reception in the evening (got back to hotel at 5:58 and they wouldn't let us have any beer or wine because it ends at 6:00). There was some construction during the day, but if you're not spending time in the hotel during the day then you wouldn't notice that. I thought the parking was overboard. I know that parking is expensive in the city but $36 a day plus tax is a bit extreme when you're paying money to stay in hotel. Overall I would stay here again, because the location is awesome if you want to be near the tourist attractions and the staff was very nice.”

  • The hotel offered free breakfast but this consisted of coffee and tiny biscotti.

“Without a doubt, this hotel is in a perfect location for touring the wharf. A quick trolley ride and you're in the heart of Chinatown! The hotel was very clean and the staff was excellent. We really enjoyed the "wine hour" during our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.”

  • The decor, my room was fantastic and my bed comfy.
  • The lobby was small and was packed during rush times.

“This hotel was absolutely fantastic. It is hidden in fisherman's wharf. The concierge was very knowledgeable and the tours they recommended were great. They also suggested a restaurant with a 360 degree view which was spectacular. My room was comfy and the bed was soft. Everything was neat and clean. All staff was friendly and helpful. Cafe connected to hotel was also good.”

  • $36 overnight valet parking at the lot across the street.

“This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the Tuscan Inn, and we were again impressed w/ the hotel itself. It truly is a treasure. My only complaint is coming out in the morning to see the valet bringing my car over from an uncovered lot across the street, for which I paid some $36. Needless to say; no tip for him.”

  • Wine bar in evening was a nice complementary touch. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location on fisherman's wharf excellent.
  • If one has a car, parking is expensive.

“Excellent location on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco makes this hotel easy to walk to all the sights. Leave your car at home, enjoying walking the wharves or taking the cable cars or trolleys. One day SF Muni Pass at $11. For all transportation is available for purchase from reception; cheaper is buying 3 or 7 day passes. A comfortable, well maintained hotel with friendly staff. Rooms facing the courtyard are especially nice. Extra touches like the evening wine bar hour and morning biscotti with coffee, tea or hot chocolate. There is also a Safeway next block as well as a restaurant on site. Parking, as is everywhere in downtown San Francisco, is expensive for those who have a car.”

  • Not able to get a king bed. Rooms are a little small.

  • The water pressure was low and the bathroom sink kept clogging.

“Overall, I really liked this hotel. The only downfall is that you if you did not bring a computer you had to pay to use one. I paid to use it, and it didn't work. I needed to print off my airline tickets and asked the front desk clerk if there was anything she could do, which her reply was no and she was very unfriendly. However, later that evening, I asked another clerk and he let me print them from their system. So, everything worked out. I would suggest having a small business center with free computer access. Free Wi-Fi doesn't help if you don't take your laptop.”

  • The parking fee was $50.00.

“It was a great location, just a couple blocks from fishermens wharf, the rooms were great, didn't really use the lobby for the free cocktail hour and anything like that. Parking was expensive, but then we found that out all over SF. Why can't they somehow add a dollar or two to room rates to make up for parking.”

  • I liked the staff, I can't say enough good things about them, very helpful and accommodating, we were traveling with a five month old baby.
  • I really dont have much to complain about; maybe they should consider updating the common area every year since it does get a lot of use.

“The service was more than I could have accepted traveling the first time with a five month old baby, just very helpful. I give them high marks for cleanliness. I took someone else's advice and requested rooms facing the court yard on the fourth floor a very good tip. The coffee in the morning was a nice treat. It was a very social atmosphere in the common area.”

  • The rooms were extremely clean; the hotel staffs were polite and attentive to all of your needs.
  • Rooms were just a little on the small side, but this is generally the case in San Francisco.

“I arrived at the hotel early and that was not a problem, a room was made available. The hotel is extremely clean and the staffs were friendly, attentive, and well trained. The Italian restaurant on the premises was excellent as well. Would recommend this hotel and will stay in again if the opportunity arises.”

  • The hotel was clean and very accommodating, the only problem I had is I had to update my room because it only accommodated one bed and I needed two.
  • I had to pay extra to update my room.

“The hotel was excellent and very accessible to everything. Again the only problem I had was I had to upgrade and pay an additional for a room with two beds. Where I had two rooms I had to upgrade both rooms which cost me additional money. The hotel was more than I accepted. It was very nice and very comfortable.”

  • Very slow elevators, one constantly out my whole stay and comments from other guests that it had been out off and on for a few days.

“It is a generally nice hotel, well located for business travelers and tourists. The restaurant has excellent food and service in my personal experience but closes too early!”

  • Great morning coffee and biscotti. Staff very hospitable.
  • Not enough drawer space in rooms.

  • There is nothing that I liked about except the location.
  • Everything was very poor standard specially attitude of the staff.

“Hotel location is great, but besides that there is nothing you can say good about it. Hotel staff was absolutely arrogant and rude with many of the customers, especially with the senior citizens.”
