- The bellman knew the area very well, and directed us to a great restaurant.
- The bell service was understaffed.
“The hotel was nice enough, but it seemed like the management was cutting corners by understaffing their bell service. I unloaded all of my bags from the car before a bellman showed up to help. When we were checking out, there was only one bellman there. We waited in the lobby for 15 minutes to store our bags so we could leave for the day.”

- It was very convenient to get to the trolley and the fisherman's wharf.
- There was no refrigerator and the water to the toilet/shower wasn't working properly.
“The hotel was nice. Parking on this particular day was easy to find. The staff was courteous and helpful and checked us in a bit earlier than check in time. The water to the toilet and shower wasn't working well. The only downside to the stay was there was no mini refrigerator.”

- This hotel was immaculate, the service was excellent and it was close to where we wanted to be.
- I expected free in-room wireless from a hotel of this caliber.
“The hotel was in a great location, the lobby was a very welcoming area for tired tourists, and the staff was easily the friendliest we met in 15 days of travel. Rooms were spacious (we were traveling with 13-year old and 14-year old boys), very clean and nicely appointed.”

- Clean, comfortable beds and pillows, only 3 floors to travel, restaurant in hotel.
- Hot water did not get hot, glasses were glass, not good for children, a lot of street noise.
“The street noise and the noise from the people up stairs was too loud. Should have better windows to keep the noise out. The hot water never got hot enough in the shower and I was on the 2nd floor. I like the underneath parking, only 3 stories to travel in the elevator and a restaurant in the hotel.”

- Very quiet room, 2 block walk to everything, (shopping, cable cars, restaurants). Very convenient location! Staff was very nice!
- We were only offered the handicap room upon check-in. It was fine, but we weren't given another choice.
“The hotel was very nice. We didn't dine there, so can't comment on that. The beds were wonderful! This hotel does not have a pool, but it is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, cable cars, and the Wharf. Staff was very friendly. Free Wi-Fi in lobby only. We enjoyed our stay.”

- Dirty! Staff not accommodating, the entire Hotel smelled of cigarette smoke, rooms small and noisy.
“No mini bar and the outside noise made sleeping impossible. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and this Hilton was the worst hotel stay of my life time and I am 44 years old. The fire alarm sounded off at 4 am on Sat. 07/05/08 and no hotel staff did a floor to floor search or knocked on our door. We dressed real fast but then thought it was a false alarm so did not leave. We noticed several guests fleeing but again-no hotel staff checked the floors or called the rooms to make sure we evacuated or gave an-all clear to go back in. What a nightmare! Hilton should be ashamed of this hotel.”

“The Hilton Wharf is a great hotel for travelers who want to focus on spending time doing touristy things in San Francisco including visiting Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and Alcatraz. The hotel location was perfect and very close to the cable cars and trolley cars so all parts of the city that a tourist is likely interested to see are extremely accessible.”

- Computer was down when it was time to check in. had to wait for hours in the lobby to get checked in.
“First day experience wasn't too good. The computer was down and the staff told us to wait at the lobby for 2 hours till they get the computers fixed. The hotel then sent us an apology letter to us the next morning explaining what exactly had happened. It was after all, wasn't their fault. Instead of getting all their guests to wait at the very small lobby, they could have at least sent us a complimentary meal or some sort of compensation for the few hours we wasted down at the lobby.”

“I flew over from the East Coast, so was a bit disoriented by the time difference. I had arrived at the hotel thinking it was much later than it was, but it was 1:45 p.m. Later, I realized the hotel had a check-in time of 3:00 p.m. instead. Nevertheless, when I approached the front desk unaware of the time, the lady actually said, "it's not even 2 p.m. yet!" Then, she turned around and continued whatever she was doing. I was very surprised at her tone of voice. Then, another man said he would see if they had rooms available. When asked for a room with 1 bed instead of 2 doubles, he said in a very condescending way and proceeded to say they were all booked. It was his tone of voice that really bothered me. Upon checking into the room, it seemed fine. It was clean and spacious, but on the first floor facing a major street with lots of traffic noise. I didn't complain about the traffic noise, but I found out the next day that the hotel was renovating the room right above me. People were pounding, ripping carpet, and moving furniture starting at 8 a.m. all the way through 5:30 p.m.! Sometimes, the pounding was so hard and loud our walls shook! They purposely put us in a room right under the construction, and they didn't even warn us or apologize! How could they not have known they were renovating a room a day before the renovations begun? When we called, they did not apologize (till about the 4th call) and said the renovations were going on through the rest of the week. It started everyday at 8 a.m. Finally, they offered to move our room but they said there are other rooms around that are being renovated too. We later declined and opted to stay in our room. All in all, I would be wary about recommending this.”

- Spacious room, amenities, close to cable car and tram.
- Staff was so-so. Concierge forgot to do a task for us, 2 phones in room, one broken.
“Clean, tasteful, spacious rooms near cable car, tram stop, Fisherman's Wharf, restaurants. The hotel staff was not always helpful but on the whole a nice place to stay.”

- The Hilton at the Wharf is a "nice" hotel with a friendly staff.
- The beds were extremely uncomfortable, not at all what I expected.
“My overall experience at the Hotel was definitely a good one. The staff was friendly and obliging. The hotel is clean and located within walking and cable car distance to many of San Francisco's famed attractions. The room was clean and modestly decorated. The big negative were the beds. They are "doubles" rather that "queen" and they were very uncomfortable, being both hard and sagging. The combination of minimal size and condition of the bed made for poor sleep. The sleeping conditions were not at all up to the usual level of what I have come to expect from an upscale hotel and certainly not what I expect from a Hilton. All being said, we did enjoy our stay.”

- Location is very convenient to all tourist attractions easy to access.
- Room a bit small and was near smoking area so it smell of cigarette.

- Very nice room decor, comfort level, bath products.
- Un necessary charge for internet service and loud rooms that faced major roads.
“The Hilton fisherman's wharf is an excellent "home base" for tourist exploring and will give you convenient access to major attractions and public transportation lines. Certainly, this is an upscale hotel but nothing excessively lavish (restaurant outlets, spa, etc). The staff is friendly and although the room type I booked (king) was unavailable, management tried to accommodate me the second day of my stay. Drawbacks are that some of the rooms face a very loud intersection of 3 major streets and sleep could be difficult. Also, be prepared to pay for internet, phone calls, etc.”

- Close to the places wanted to visit convenient parking clean staff was friendly.
- Did not mention about parking & occupancy charges ahead. Per day they charged $32 and almost $4.68 for occupancy taxes.
“Located in the heart of downtown, rooms are clean; they provided coffee, and calming tea bags. Parking was available.”
