“Christmas party at the hotel very noisy, people running up an down hallways at all hours of the night trying to enter our suite while we were trying to sleep.”

• It was close to the Western Washington that was a plus for us to visit our daughter.

• The beds were comfortable.
• The pool is in the middle of the hotel, so we were exposed to a lot of the piercing screams of children.

“The outside of the hotel looked like a casino parking lot. Our room was in between the kitchen and the pool and smelled like a combination of halibut and chlorine. It was completely overpriced. If that's a three-star hotel, then I'm Heidi Klum. Our room faced onto the parking lot under I-5. My friend did remark that if you didn't listen too closely, the freeway almost sounded like a river.”

• Liked the complimentary coffee, jazz in restaurant and location.
• Carpet in public areas very stained. Initial room smoky despite no smoking policy in hotel, inside room very noisy from swim pool.

“This hotel had a good location for our needs, however upon check in we were given a very smoke filled room despite having signed an agreement that this was a non smoking hotel! We were moved promptly but but the next room location was inferior as the pool was inside and all those rooms facing the pool were very noisy until 10pm as the sound echoed from families using the pool. The staff were friendly and rooms clean however public areas and stairwells etc. Looked very tired.”

• It was closer to the older waterfront downtown area of Bellingham.
• The room must have recently been changed to non-smoking; it still smelled.

“This is not a brand-new property, but the rooms are adequately sized and the staff is accommodating. It is located right next to the freeway, however, we did not detect any traffic noise. Half of the rooms are made up of a central courtyard overlooking the pool; this could be a noise issue as the pool is indoor. The chlorine smell in that area was quite strong. We only stayed one night, arriving late and checking out at 6:00 am, so did not have the opportunity to enjoy either of the on-site restaurants, whose menus looked interesting and affordable. Overall, a pleasant stay.”

• The room was quiet, cozy and clean with lush beds and linens.
• Someone left us part of a cheeseburger in the fridge!

“Easy access from freeway and plenty of shopping nearby. The rooms are quiet, the bedding plush and I felt real comfortable. Seemed like there were several outdoor enthusiasts staying in the hotel. There were kyakers, older bikers, and super fit, backpack toting professionals, who seemed to be checking in on a good deal and a nice place to explore nature. Best life ever!”

• Indoor pool was noisy. Kids were
  in there night and day.

“Beautiful lobby, rooms are nice, good location off I-5. The only complaint was the noise of the pool. Kids were in there from early morning till late at night. The pool is indoors so the shouting echoes all over. I suppose there are rooms not by the pool, but the noise was bad for a business traveler or someone actually wanting to sleep. On the other hand the rooms were pretty well insulated.”

• Rooms were nice and updated; especially the historic wall hangings.
• The pool is tiny and round; not meant for adult swim.

“The hotel is conveniently located near the downtown area as well as near a Fred Meyer. The pool is great for kids, not lap swim. The bathrooms on the second floor conference area are always empty and large. It's a nice quiet place.”

• Cleanliness of room and friendly/helpfull staff.
• Bar was super crowded.

“The hotel was very nice, better than
I expected. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. Hot tub was hot and the pool was heated which was nice since it was really cold outside. The hotel bar was way too crowded to be able to sit down and enjoy a conversation, but it did look fun.”

• Service.

“Food was excellent. Very clean hotel. However, they didn't seem to have enough staff. Our friends waited over an hour for they're room to be ready. Waitress at breakfast couldn't handle the traffic. Passed her frustration on to customers. Housekeeping couldn't handle all the rooms. We were gone for the day, arrived back about 4:30 PM and room had not been serviced. We were there for a convention. Must say the banquet was excellent!”

• Comfortable, pillow-top mattress, responsive staff, little extras in bath.
• High pet fee, two dogs meant two charges each night, for one cleaning?

“We enjoyed our stay here. Except for noise from the pool area (in an atrium, much echoing), it very quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and responsive to our requests.”

• Location was accessible.
• Crowded, too much going on at one time.

“Staff was friendly and helpful. It was very convenient to where we wanted to be. Prices in the restaurant were a little excessive so we went elsewhere. Pool closed down for under 18 year olds too soon. Room was in very decent condition, everything was clean. I would stay there again.”
