• The room was very nice and the bed was, indeed, heavenly.
• The common areas did not seem to be air conditioned and were warm during a heat wave.

“I very much enjoyed my stay at the Westin in Portland. We were given a standard King room but it was on a corner of the building, so we had expansive views of downtown on two sides, including the bathroom. The bed is advertised as the "Heavenly Bed" at the Westin and it was indeed heavenly. The room was large, with a king bed, desk, sitting area, and large bathroom with a walk-in shower (no tub).”

• Location is excellent for getting around downtown Portland.
• Room was dated and dusty.

“Older Westin with dated rooms, but this is somewhat offset by the location. The Staff was helpful when asking for directions and questions, but they should have put me on a higher level away from the elevators since the hotel had low occupancy.”

• Comfy bed, beautiful bathroom. Overall, my basic expectations were met.
• TVs need an upgrade. What can they do about hearing neighbors?

“I love using Priceline to spend less on 4 or 5 star hotels. I was expecting much more out of this supposed 4-star hotel. Don't get me wrong. My basic needs were met. The bathroom was very spacious. There was a shower separate from the bath. The water pressure was great. And the king-sized bed was super comfy. But, outside of the basics, I was less than impressed. Luckily I didn't have an urgent need for the internet. It was down and I was never able to use it. Also, the TV was an old 27" CRT. I'm used to my huge HDTV at home. I was disappointed that I had to revert back to ancient times for my viewing experience. Also, I'm not sure if it was just my room but, we could easily hear our neighbors next door. Thankfully, I usually sleep late at night. But you know there's a problem with your room when the folks next door are having a casual conversation but you can hear almost every word. I'm excited for their trip to Europe - but I didn't have to hear it during my romantic getaway. Also, what was the deal with the alarm clock running an hour late? I couldn't figure out how to change it. I could have called the hotel to have it changed but I was just lazy. That's one detail the staff should have taken care of. I am being a little picky here. But, you can't help but feel disappointed when your experience is far different than your expectations. Great deal for $ - but I'd never want to pay more.”

• Bathroom was attractive. Great double head shower.
• Bed was not as comfortable as usual for Westin.

“Staff was very helpful and friendly unlike what I had read in other reviews. Beautiful shower and separate large tub were clean. proximity to river was nice walk. We found affordable parking options to the hotel's pricey parking. With Priceline's price it was a great value.”

• Luxury bathroom, great location, flat screen TV.
• $29 valet overnight parking.

“Some rooms had just been remodeled and we got one of those. Very comfortable, ok view, nightly local brewpub beer tastings in lobby with great bar menu made cheap, fun dinner one night.”

• It's quiet, clean and right downtown in the heart of the action.
• The restaurant is way overpriced.

“I stay at this hotel every time I visit Portland. The staff is professional, friendly and super knowledgeable about good places to eat and play. The bedding is delicious. I stay in the same room every time and feel safe and cozy. I would recommend this hotel among all others downtown. I've stayed there six times.”

• Efficient, friendly staff, great views of the city, and a marvelous shower.
• Bathroom garbage was not emptied from previous guests and no writing pad by the phone.

“The Westin is conveniently located for downtown restaurants and concerts. We were able to walk everywhere. We also loved the big walk in shower, the comfy bed, and the views of the city.”

• Great bathroom-both shower and bath tub. Excellent bed, room well equiped with everything you could possibly need.
• The restaurant was a bit pricey.

• Concierge was very professional and friendly directing us about the city, especially with dining choices. All staff friendly and helpful.
• Room poorly situated-no view; noisy ventilation fan below window. Room had an adjoining door that let a lot of noise through from next room.

“The Westin Portland is in a great location-close to many restaurants and shops Downtown. Using the hotel as a starting point, we walked all over NW and SW Portland. The room was well appointed, and the cleaning staff respected our wish not to be disturbed. One complaint-an adjoining door, although locked at all times, let unwanted noise into our room from the next room almost every night.”

• They set out candles and chocolate at 5:00 p.m. to help guests transition and calm down after a hectic day.
• Can't think of anything I didn't like.

• $29 parking in Portland? Ridiculous.

“The hotel is nice and in a good location. We felt that this was at best a 3 star hotel, which is nice, but not 4 star. Staff was friendly but valets were not helpful and stood around the door talking to each other. Staff was good in dealing with a drunk guest, the first night we were there. It looked like part of the hotel was remodeled but we were put in old rooms I guess. Oh, charging $29 to park a car is an insult.”

• Nice bathroom with one of the best showers I've ever had in a hotel.
• The cost of parking a rental car was very pricey.

“I thought it was a nice Hotel. The room was comfortable. Room service was speedy but timely and the food was good but a bit cold by the time it got to the room. Otherwise, I am glad I stayed there.”

“My husband and I stayed overnight to see a concert downtown. The hotel's location was convenient; keep in mind that street parking is only 90 minutes so you pretty much don't have a choice by to pay for their $29 per-day valet service. The room was clean, the bed comfortable (which is paramount for us), and although our afternoon nap was disturbed by slamming doors and loud people in the hall, it was an overall pleasant stay. I'd even stay there again.”

• Parking not included and expensive (valet only). No free Wi-Fi. No double beds available during check in.

• The attention to detail.
• Room layout was kind of small; towel racks locations.

“Although the main room was a bit on the small side, this was more than compensated for by the luxurious bed and bath. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful and professional. The restaurant is very convenient and has a reasonable variety on the menu. There is some room for improvement here, as egg substitute was not available, and the evening bar menu was very limited.”

• This hotel can be best described as comfortable - rooms lobby and bed.
• I wish they had a pool!

“This is an extremely comfortable hotel - I had the pleasure of reading a book with hot cocoa in front of the roaring fire in their elegantly furnished lobby. The room was well furnished and had the famous Westin bed - there were some mornings when I didn't want to get up! And the marble and granite bathroom was luxurious with separate tub and shower. Very enjoyable stay.”

• Bed was very comfortable, nice shower.
• Not as "fancy" as expected and not as clean as expected for a 4 star hotel.

“Very helpful staff waiting for you at front Dorr, valet service nice but didnt really tell you there was an alternative for the $25 parking fee each time you came and left hotel. It really seemed like an average hotel trying to dress up and play fancy.”
