• Hilton beds are always comfortable.

“This is one of the rotten few hotels. Do not stay here if you might need more than one bed! They won't give you a 2 bed room even if it's sitting empty. I am 8 months pregnant and had to pay extra for a cot which needed 3 stacked blanket before I couldn't feel springs in my ribs.”

• Food is $10 no matter what you have to eat - cereal, eggs, toast etc.

“Rooms were clean and spacious and included microwave and refrigerator. The exercise room was very nice as was the pool. Didn't see any place to get coffee in the lobby.”

• Business center, highway access.
• Smoking room -- horribly smelly.

“When we arrived we were informed that the hotel was full and the only room left had 1 king bed and only a smoking room was available (2 beds and non-smoking were requested). We had to keep the air-conditioner on at all times to keep the cigarette stench barely tolerable as I have allergies and asthma. Keeping the AC on meant the room was 67 degrees for the duration of our stay. We stayed out of the room as much as possible -- had the room not already been paid for and we been more familiar with the area, we would have left. Also, the TV was broken when we arrived and maintenance had to come fix it.”

“The hotel's amenities were fine but when we registered we were told that a 2-bed room wasn't available, we were then given the single room beside the office. We certainly didn't feel like valued guests! We've stayed at many hotels and this was our first negative experience. A small matter, but we wouldn't go back.”

• The hotel was conveniently located within walking distances of different restaurants.
• The breakfast area was out of various food items both mornings. The staff didn't clear the tables very quickly and they ran out of clean dishes.

• The hotel was clean, comfortable and location had easy access to highway.
• The only drawback was in the bathroom, no exhaust fan.

“Overall, the hotel provided value, comfort and facilities for my family to enjoy, such as the exercise room, and mini pool. The complementary coffee, hot chocolate, tea at the front desk was a bonus, plus the cookies; However, I would like the breakfast to be included in the cost of hotel rental.”

• Complimentary cookies, hand-held shower nozzle, fridge and microwave in room.
• Toilet flusher lever was not smooth - it was noisy.

“Front-desk staff was too professional; on the verge of appearing 'rude'/'unfriendly'. And therefore this did not generate a 'warm'/'cozy' atmosphere in the hotel. Front-desk staff also did not greet guests when entering the lobby, from elevators or from front doors, i.e., no "Good mornings", etc. Front-desk staff was helpful when asked questions, i.e., location of shopping centers, freeway conditions, etc. Cleaning staff was friendly and helpful, and seemed to smile more than the front-desk staff. Hotel itself was clean and quiet, in a good location; restaurants and freeways close-by, rooms are spacious.”

• Underground parking spaces too small (SUV).

“This was an excellent hotel. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. There really is nothing I'd change (except the lower level parking, but you don't need to use it).”

• The beds were comfy, the towels were luxurious.
• There was mold on the inner rim of the sink - could only be seen when seated at toilet!

“I'd recommend this. I really got great value - and they accommodated me and my Dad with 2 beds when we checked in. I hope to try this again when I visit with my husband.”

• It had a microwave, fridge and coffeemaker-great!
• Air conditioner was noisy.

“Basically, this is a very nice hotel, conveniently located. I have stayed at this property before and would love to stay there again. The room is spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I like the fact that they have a coffee maker, microwave and fridge in one area, very good set-up.”

• Traffic on 5 was horrendous.

“Excellent 2.5 star hotel! Room was spacious and clean. Beds very comfortable, with firmness dial adjustable mattress. Quiet room (504), no street noise, no guest noise. Will definitely hope to stay here again!”

• Very clean and attractive hotel with helpful friendly staff.
• Cold lobby and no complimentary coffee or hot water in lobby.

“Lovely hotel just off i5. Perfect for business travelers and families. Not within walking distance to shopping but an easy drive to malls and Portland. Very clean, spacious and comfortable rooms with massaging showerheads and nice toiletries. Small indoor pool and hot tub was a bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay here again.”

• Room was spacious and comfortable.
• Spa area not maintained well for this level of hotel. Clerk did not offer or explain paid parking situation. Limited parking spaces available.

“Nice hotel overall. But at the lower end of a 4-star in our opinion. While the hotel lobby and rooms were very nice, we found the spa not well maintained (Luke warm water and low pressure jets). The work-out room machines did not work well. Parking fee seem a bit excessive for the type of hotel and location, especially since there were limited parking spaces available.”

• Very nice bed. The pillows were great.
• Poor front desk supervision and security.

“Overall I¿d say this is a good hotel for business travelers. The downside is that the pool was overcrowded with rowdy teenagers and chaperones that didn't care. The room next to me had the same crowd and it took an hour for the security guy to get these folks to calm down. This is the second Hilton in Oregon that I¿ve experienced that caters to groups with unsupervised teens. I'll avoid Hilton hotels in the future for this reason.”

• When you walk up to the hotel - the double doors open automatically - to a beautiful lobby.

“I travel to Portland area about 4 times a year with friends for a getaway shopping weekend. This was the 1st time staying at the Hilton Garden Inn - and I hope to now stay there Every time! Comfy beds, room very easy to relax in and I loved having the microwave and minifridge.”

• Sheets smelled like cigarettes. Unappetizing breakfast.

“Our bed smelled like cigarettes, which made it difficult to sleep. The breakfast was set up like a complimentary breakfast but was not. The food was barely passable. The staff at the desk were unfriendly. On a positive note, the hotel was conveniently located for travel on the I-5 corridor.”

• Closing the pool area in the evening when you are arriving late and not able to use the facility.

• The pool was open early morning to 11:00pm with lots of pool towel available. Nice pool.
• The rooms were a little small for a family. Would be ok for adults or business travel.

“The staff is wonderful at this hotel. The maid arranged my daughter's baby doll on the bed when making up the room. We liked the comfy chair and ottoman in the room for stories. Despite the room being a little small for the 4 of us, we would stay here again because of the friendly service and clean space.”

• Indoor pool, walking distance to restaurants, great location.
• While staff was not unfriendly, we were anonymous, could be good!

“Complimentary cookies at the front desk was a great feature for kids and grownups alike. The location in terms of reaching most any place in the general Portland area is really ideal. Chili's is said to be .3 miles away but it is literally across the street, not even close to a quarter mile, there is also a Starbucks and a Cold stone in the same complex. Also, Applebee's and another restaurant steps away from the lobby. The in-room guidebook said Applebee's and Chili's both deliver to the hotel within certain hours if staff is available. Nice feature for a place without room service.”
