• This hotel is exceptionally clean. The bed was one of the most comfrotable I have ever slept in. I will be back.

• Room clean and comfortable and well equipped with amenities like fridge.
• Just a little too far from Ashland to be ideal for the play goer.

“The hotel is nice, clean, has the comforts needed for the road traveler (like fridge and laundromat). There is not much around the hotel so you drive a few short miles to see the plays at the Shakespeare festival and for nice meals. On balance, it is worth the relative inconvenience of the location.”

• All the rooms smelled like smoke.

“Only stay here if you are a smoker. I called the night before and asked for a non-smoking room with two queen beds. I went through 3 rooms and landed in the last room that smelled the least of smoke with a king bed. The front desk brought us a spring board for a roll away, so my kids slept on the ground. I would never, ever, stay here again. I would bet that other La Quinta hotels are nice, but this was the worst experience that I have ever had at any hotel. Don't stay at La Quinta in Ashland, Or.”

“The Ashland La Quinta Inn is an excellent value. Although it is not close to the center of Ashland, it is very convenient to Interstate 5. It is a relatively new, attractive facility, and I would gladly stay there again.”

• Our room at the La Quinta in Ashland had exceptionally comfortable mattresses. My husband and I wished we had a mattress like theirs at home.
• There wasn't much in the way of atmosphere or ambiance. Also, there were exposed tack strips in the kitchenette area.

“My family and I felt that the La Quinta in Ashland or met our needs in terms of a comfortable and affordable place to stay while visiting our college student. It certainly wasn't anything fancy, but the staff was friendly enough and the accommodations met our basic needs quite satisfactorily.”

“They would not move us, stated they had too many stay over however we observed walk ins later obtain a room (at a walk in rate) and be accommodated with an elevator access. I recently had a liver transplant and my wife is in remission from recent cancer.”

• The hotel staff was very helpful. There were laundry facilities on the premises and a nice more than continental breakfast.
• The location was right off of the freeway (traffic noise) and really was not in downtown Ashland.

“The staff was very helpful and friendly. The "continental" breakfast was far more than just bagels and a cold donut. Really very nice. Laundry facilities were available. The location was on the outskirts of Ashland, which was a bit inconvenient, although the drive was only ten minutes into downtown Ashland. A bit of freeway noise, but the fan managed to drown out most of it. Overall, a nice hotel.”

• Convenient location to downtown attractions. Reasonable prices if somewhat more than we usually spend. $70.00 - $90.00.
• Room was sort of small and bathroom small.

• They have a separate breakfast room and free Wi-Fi.
• Fresh blood on sheets, pincher bug on sheets, below-ground room & no landscaping.

“This motel offers ease of highway access, and the public spaces are generally clean. I liked the separate room they have reserved just for their free breakfast. Plus free Wi-Fi internet. However, I was given a room on the below-ground floor level opposite the maids' cleaning room. The room had a below-ground view of dirt - this side of the hotel was not landscaped! I was very disappointed in my room.”

• Hotel staff were friendly, but were not helpful with directions and knowledge of major attractions in the area.

“The hotel was comfortable, clean and convenient to the Shakespeare theater festival. Strangely, the hotel staff had no idea how to direct us to the theater festival, which was literally within minutes of the hotel and the only major attraction in Ashland. Although they were friendly, they definitely were not helpful when it came to out of town visitors.”

• 24 hour indoor swimming pool.
• Maid service and tiny workout room.

“Booked a 4 night stay, but decided to check out a day early and only stayed 3 nights. The first day we receive no maid service. The second day the beds were made and we received no towels, but they did not clean the bathroom sink, the toilets or vacuum the floor. The workout room was tiny, barely fitting a cheap exercise bike and a worn out treadmill. I would not stay at this hotel again.”

• Convenient to freeway and right up the street from our destination.
• Manager was discussing unhappy customer with staff in front of us causing us to wait to register; staff was rather unhelpful and not too friendly.

“The room itself was fine - adequate for our needs. The hallways and public areas were rather dingy - older carpet, paint, etc. We came in the middle of a snowstorm and had quite a time getting our luggage. Staff said there was a luggage cart "down the hall" which took us 15 minutes to find. There is one elevator at the very end of the building. We could hear a dog barking in one of the rooms. Overall it was OK but wouldn't want to stay there again. Mostly because of the initial impression having to wait for the Manager to stop admonishing staff about how to treat customers as we were waiting to be registered. That should have been done out of hearing and sight of the public.”

• The staff was outstanding.
• We had a smoking room/I don't think curtains and rug have been cleaned in ages. Room smelled very bad.

“I am a smoker and have stayed in many place's in a smoking room. Never have I ever smelled a room so bad. I know smokers are unpopular, but these rooms should get just as much care and attention as the others. My own house has never smelled this bad. And that¿s with years of smoking. I must say the staff is just the best at the desk.”

• Make your own waffles at breakfast were yummy. Front desk helpful.
• Margarine but no butter available at breakfast. Bathroom ceiling light too dim. Hallways smelled bad (moldy or decay odor).

“Our room was very comfortable (2 queen beds) and there was good sound insulation from the freeway a few hundred feet from our room. Front desk staff were very helpful. Serve yourself breakfast was quite good, especially the waffles. One negative: bathroom ceiling light was far too dim.”

• Stained blanket; problems with key cards

“La Quinta was adequate, but not impressive for rooms nominally $125/night. The location is convenient to the freeway, but not within walking distance of tourist attractions. Our blanket had a mysterious stain; my husband was locked out of his room because the manager had reprogrammed the entry system in order to get into the pool. A number of guests had long trailers, making the smallish parking lot crowded.”

• We received an upgrade which was nice.
• Only smoking available. Man at desk was highly stressed and confused.

“The hotel location is great. We will book full price elsewhere. The basement rooms feel like exactly that, a basement. The same man checked us in both visits and seems extremely stressed and confused by the simplest request. Both times it took about 45 minutes to check in which was ridiculous. There were only smoking rooms. We requested a cot and it never came. The breakfast attendant was great though!”

• Not much variety in breakfast choices day to day.

“I highly recommend this hotel. Nothing terribly flashy, but clean and nice. Service was timely and not pushy, the location is close to the freeway which is convenient for travelers. A little far away from downtown Ashland but not bad. It's also close to the valley long bike trail - a feature that we enjoyed a lot.”

• Great Continental Breakfast and service at the breakfast! The employee went above & beyond the call of duty!
• When I first called to request a non-smoking room, the employee treated me like a second-class citizen.

“After I spoke with the Manager about the way her employee had treated me on the phone, everything went great! But, I have felt that same feeling at the Red Lion Hotel in Medford, where the Front Desk Staff treated us poorly. ”

• Continental breakfast varied (more than juice and pastries); freeway noise loud (windows were open); staff shipped the pillows we forgot!
• Slogan: "La Quinta is Spanish for ___" Really rubs me the wrong way; sounds condescending. Workout room had no fan or remote control for TV.

“Located a few miles from Ashland, you need to drive everywhere; we prefer to walk whenever possible. But, nice running trail nearby. Workout room needs a fan; it was stifling hot in there. The freeway noise was loud, but we sleep with windows open. Continental breakfast was nice with loads of variety. The staff was very pleasant and when we left our pillows in the room, they even shipped them to our house (although we had to pay using a credit card).”

• It was clean.
• I had a guaranteed reservation and paid for my rooms, but they did not want to give me my rooms because of the visa number that I had used.

“They made me beg for my room because the visa number that I used was a atm visa number. I was in Ashland and standing in front of their desk and already paid for my stay and they were saying I could not have the room. Finally, they let me stay although my visa account had plenty of money in it. I had stayed in LaQuinta before in LA and in San Diego using the very same visa number without a problem. Then they gave me a room in the basement that did not have a elevator and I explained that I was disabled. I had to again beg for a room out of the basement and move my stuff out. I will never stay in that hotel again. ”

• It was a good location and quiet.
• They gave away our room even after I called to confirm and we would be late.

“The breakfast was not well attended by the staff. They were out of plates, out of silverware out of milk and fruit and brought one thin g in at a time. At one point I wanted water and it was no where to be found nor was the staff and front desk was snappy about it.”

• We really got more than we expected out of our short stay. The pool or hot tub was open 24hours and the room was very nice for what we paid.
• Everything was wonderful. No complaints here.

“I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet romantic getaway. We plan on staying here again when traveling south on I-5.”

“Hotel was clean and convenient. Was very disappointed that they didn't have something as basic as a toothbrush. Worst was the breakfast. There was no one to take care of the room and they were constantly running out of stuff. People in the room were not pleased.”
