• The breakfast and maid service was great.
• I wanted to book 1 night for another family member and they wouldnt match price.

• The hotel breakfast, free internet, and daily paper were the unexpected great things.
• The bed was small, bed linens were cheap, and if you can hear the above room walking.

“Hotel was good value for the money. The free items: breakfast and internet saved us lots of time. The hotel rooms can use an update especially the cheap bed linens. I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza and Hilton Garden Inn which are also 2.5 stars within 2 minutes of Residence Inn and they have much nicer rooms.”

• Large rooms that was great for our family and a fabulous buffet breakfast.
• Upstairs neighbors returned back to the hotel at 2am and didn't go to sleep until 5. This kept our family up.

“A great place to stay with a family or even for a romantic evening. There was a large room with a fireplace, sofa sleeper and comfortable queen bed. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff helpful. Our only complaint was the upstairs guests came back around 2am and we could hear every movement and noise on the bottom floor. If you can, request the second floor. Other than this complaint it was by far the best family hotel we have stayed at.”

• The kitchen facilities were wonderful. We could stay longer because we could keep food and cook.
• No indoor pool and we went in winter.

• No indoor pool.

“Residence Inn's provide a great experience. Full kitchen, fireplace, lots of room to unwind and relax. They provide full kitchen utensils for cooking. Location is perfect. Easy access to major highways. It would be nice to have an indoor pool. Didn't checkout the fitness center, but there is one on site. Internet access is free, but it's wired in the rooms.”

• The facility was wonderful. Tennis court, basketball court, great and free breakfast and dinner. Would even pick up groceries.
• Bed was not the most comfortable.

“One of the best hotels I have been to. Beautiful area, wonderful food, and many-many amenities (dishwasher, garbage disposer, dishes, free service to pick up groceries (only had to pay for price of food not the service).”

• Not dressers for clothing; no full length mirror.

“Located off the i-5; easy to access and central to many attractions; quiet location with good surrounding restaurants, shops and amenities; large, clean rooms and good complimentary breakfast; large workout room with several different machines; comfortable queen bed with sofa pullout; mini-townhouse setting is serene and cottage like with landscaped walks; outdoor heated pool is large; bar b q for all to use; and a tennis and basketball court; excellent for family travel and kitchen is well equipped. Excellent hotel and would definitely love to stay here again.”

• Breakfast was excellent! Grounds were quite nice. Rooms were great.
• Staff could have been friendlier. Non smoking room was Smokey.

“Breakfast was incredible and the grounds, location and room felt like a resort hotel. My only complaints are that we had a non-smoking room that clearly had been a smoking room previously. Thus, it smelled nasty. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk they were not very friendly and did not offer a solution.”

• Stale odor in room. Needs a little cleanup, paint up, fix up.

“Great location for this property and a nice breakfast bar. Internet is wired in the room and the property is becoming a bit dated. Could use a little more aggressive maintenance (note: this hotel isn't bad). Nonsmoking room reeked of smoke in curtains and overall musty odor. Moved to another room that was ok. A little mold around tub. You can take my comments with the grain of salt that I believe all hotels should be on as good shape as they were the day they opened as the money received from guests should, in part, be used for maintenance. This would have been a great place 15 years ago and could escalate from good to "very good" with more aggressive maintenance and general upkeep of the property. Don't read this as "don't stay here--it's bad" but also bear in mind that some newer properties are nicer.”

“Works well for a business traveler or couple with 1-2 kids. Location is easy, close to amenities and freeway. Complimentary breakfast is likely to satisfy both from a selection and quality standpoint The reception staff was very fast, friendly, responsive -- well ahead of most I have seen.”

• The property was attractive with all the trees and flowers.
• There wasn't anything that I disliked.

“I was very pleased with this hotel. They let me have an early check-in and a late check-out. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The property and room was very well cared for and clean. This is a place that I'd happily stay at again.”

• The staff was wonderful.
• Non-smoking hotel, but room smelled like smoke.

“We had a wonderful stay. The staff was very nice and the hot breakfast buffet was a great bonus. Great location! The proximity to shopping in both lake Oswego and at Washington square was fabulous and the hotel is also near some great restaurant chains (apple bees, olive grade). Additionally, we enjoyed the full kitchen and had we stayed longer would have ventured to the nearby trader Joes to stock it.”

• Access to the rooms was outside and in Portland this could be a challenge with weather.

“The staff of the hotel was quite friendly, the rooms were clean and as a former hotelier, I was very pleased with the service. The hot breakfast buffet in the morning was of the quality of a major hotel chain that I would have paid three times the rate for plus paid for breakfast. The room was suitable to the required use including easy to use internet access and accurately described on their website. You always wonder how representative the photographs are of the facility. They held true. I will use this hotel again when visiting this location.”

• We appreciated the full breakfast. My husband is diabetic, so the roll and coffee "breakfast" which we often encounter does not work for him.
• We would have liked two sinks, but taken with all the positives, this was a minor issue.

“This hotel had everything we wanted including a complete complimentary buffet breakfast. Due to the nature of our trip, we did not spend much time in our hotel room, but for once, we almost regretted this. It had a full kitchen, fireplace complete with a complimentary log, and even popcorn provided! The atmosphere was relaxed, and the employees were all very friendly and helpful.”

“I travel to Portland on business at least two days each month. This is the most outstanding hotel value in the Portland area. It has a great location just off I-5 close to restaurants and not far from shopping. Most notable feature is the amazing breakfast that comes with the price of the room.”

• A little dark, because if you opened the curtains there was no privacy.

“Excellent for short or extended stays. Good access to I-5 south of Portland, convenient to many restaurants and serves a way-over-the-top breakfast in the morning. Residence Inn is the number one choice for my frequent business trips to the Portland area.”
