• Quiet and convenient location. Plenty of restaurants and a large grocery store nearby.
• The bed wasn't very comfortable. The stove didn't work well.

“Nice room. If you are planning on actually cooking in the kitchen, plan on bringing oil, salt and pepper, scrub pad, real soap, napkins, etc. Absolutely nothing but minimum dishes were provided.”

• Comfortable, quiet, private, clean, and corteous staff.
• Don't really have anything negative to say since we only stayed one night.

“This motel would be great for a business traveler or someone needing a place for a long stay related to work or otherwise. Location is good. Staff seem polite and friendly. Room was clean, a real necessity.”

• It was clean, quiet and in good repair.
• Did not like surcharge for pets and Wi-Fi. Linen change too infrequent.

“To prevent theft or break-in of my auto, I parked close to the building, whether it was near my room or on the other side of the building. I also removed all valuables at night and took them with me during the day.”

• Location was great.
• Bed was horrible and very uncomfortable, If it had a more comfortable bed I would stay again for the Price.

“Arrived late had to wait in a very dark parking lot for the clerk to open the door which made me nervous Daytime was not as bad. Bed was old and uncomfortable. Blankets were stained again made me nervous. Stove and refrigerator was nice not to have to eat out everyday. Room provided dishes and pots and pans. Price was good for what we needed room for.”

“Chose site for Wi-Fi access. NO access for entire stay. Allergy to cigarette smoke. Was told, I had to pay $10 additional to stay in N-S room from nt#1 or move to another SMOKING room for nt#2 clear across hotel site. Answering service during posted office hours. Unable to reach front desk.”

• Very helpful and pro-active front desk person.
• Not very clean.

“They were out of non-smoking double room, so they moved me to a non-smoking king with sleeper sofa for $10 extra. Had to go to front desk for extra pillow and coffee mug. But front desks staff was very helpful. She delivered to our room. She also gave a map and directions to movie theater I had to checkout early so she gave me the receipt ahead of time and told me just to leave the key card in the room. Papa's Pizza is close by which was good for the kids since they have a big children's play area. Rooms could have been cleaner and more trash could have been picked up outside; however, I thought it was adequate for one night at that price.”

• The room we were in next to the main office was loud at times through the wall.

“A great place to stay, for us it was the location because of the traveling we do with our son's tennis tournaments. I feel the walls should be more insulated from noises. Noises do not keep us up that often during our stays but when it does occur even the slightest noise is distracting.”

“We were surprised at how unkempt this room was. The hotel was understaffed and unable to meet our needs. The heat was off and on the whole weekend, the electricity flickered off and on. We won't be going back.”

• It was disgusting. The room was not clean, pubic hair on bed, mysterious crusty stain in bed, dirty bathroom, only solution by staff-to leave note.

• Cheap wireless Internet close to restaurants.
• Bad parking, filthy bathrooms boisterous, teens carrying on late nights, no toiletries.

“I was concerned when I saw white lint on the mirror, black footprints on the floor in the bathroom and short body hairs on the walls where guests would not usually lean. If the bathroom had been cleaned it had been cleaned poorly. I cleaned the mirror and walls but the floors were not mopped during my five night stay. Also this is the first hotel I have ever stayed in, including Motel 6 and some funky European hotels, that had no shampoo or other toiletries. Bring your own. Coffee was free but it was bothersome having to go to the front desk to ask for it. Place is popular with youth groups, especially those selling magazines door to door. They don't break bottles or scream, but they do carry on late at night. Combine that with tradesmen getting up early in the morning and I got very little sleep during my stay. I would stay there again, but only if I was desperate.”

• They didn't stock black tea in the room, only coffee. Front desk didn't have any either.

“ It was convenient and quiet. It's an extended stay hotel, so they don't have maid service everyday, which was fine with me.”

• There was a really loud family with children upstairs and I don't feel the staff dealt with the situation. They were very loud, sometimes til midnigh

• Had a refrigerator.
• Room & bathroom were dirty and smelled very bad, changed rooms still dirty and smelly.

“This is the second time we have landed in a Homestead Suites. The first time was in Bellevue, WA in '04, I think, there we found the bathroom crawling with bugs and had to be moved to another room. This time, we had a room that smelled horribly and the bathroom counter was dirty, the soap dish had cigarette ashes in it and there was hair all over the floor and tub.”

• The smell of smoke, the lack of employee assistance and all in all a poor quality room

• The room was a very SMOKEY smoking room. I did not want a SMOKING room at all. It was difficult to sleep.

“I am not usually very particular as long as a hotel room is clean. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the Homestead Suites. The room was very smokey. We could smell smoke from nearby rooms. The linens smelled of cigarette smoke. The smell was so strong that I nearly gagged in the shower because it was permeating the walls.”

• Despite obvious handicap (uses cane), my sister was placed in an upstairs room

• It was close to my favorite restaurant, "Chang's Mongolian Grill".
• It is a bit far from city center area that I needed to be at, but they were the only ones willing to accept my low bid!

• Very cheap and clean. It would be great for long stays as it has a nice little kitchen.
• We were hoping to be a little closer to downtown Portland, but that really has nothing to do with the hotel.

“The Homestead Suites is a great place to stay if you are planning on a long vacation. It has a great little kitchenette and very environmentally friendly housekeeping policies they change the sheets and towels a limited number of times depending on the length of your stay). The Beaverton location was great if you are interested in getting away from the business of downtown Portland, but would like a quick and easy way to get there. The MAX is just a short drive away and will take you right downtown.”

“For the money it was okay. The beds were well used and there was no pot for the coffee maker. Attention to detail by the cleaning staff was lacking in my estimation. Rooms are small but if you just need a place to sleep and shower it works.”

• The Staff was very helpful and informative. The rooms were great. I especially appreciated the wireless internet service.
• Somethings were not clear, like when the maid would or would not clean our room.

“This is a great hotel if you have a family or need to prepare special meals. It is close to a major highway, so it is easy to get to downtown Portland, but is also near a number of malls or shopping areas. The price was a very good deal for the services they offer.”

• Small TV and limited stations.No oven in kitchen and poor utensils.

“I was very disappointments with this hotel.
1. No pool or workout facility other than a pay health club miles away.
2.Very poor kitchen area: very little space only, some kitchenware was available.
3.TV mounted on top of dresser was small and old,very limited channels to choose from.
The one plus was that the staff are very friendly and helpful.”

“Although the price is great, Homestead Suites is often a disappointment as it only offers one bed and has no daily maid service. One must pack shampoo as well, as that is not provided. The kitchen is a nice touch. This particular room wasn't well stocked with plates, bowls, and silverware.”

“My family and I are from Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada; we also met up with my sister and nephew who lives in Seattle for a 2 day trip to Beaverton, Portland.) We were about to check out of our rooms when I discovered that we had van trouble and had to call AAA to tow the van away for emergency repairs. We knew we had to checkout by noon but since we couldn't get out, we explained to one of the hotel clerks the problem and that we may not be getting our van back until much later on. The hotel clerk was very understanding and extended our stay until we got the van back from the repair shop. We really could not express our sincere thanks and understanding towards the hotel staff. Aside from the friendly understanding staff the rooms were very clean. We are already thinking of our visit again to Beaverton next August and look forward to staying at your hotel again. Thank you for making our stay a wonderful one especially when we were hit with unexpected van trouble.”
