Don from Colorado Springs, CO
“Moderately clean. No room service. Generally good location downtown Anchorage. Good amenities. Very sparse breakfast in the morning (Fruit, bagels, cream cheese and coffee/tea).” May 11, 2008 by
Albert from Lakeside, MT
“There were a few glitches at check in but once located in our room we were very happy with room and amenities.” May 4, 2008 by
Jim from Mc Grath, AK
“The hotel is very noisy, maybe because of the nature of an extended stay facility. People in the halls at all hours of the night. Dogs barking in nearby rooms. Toaster always sets off the smoke alarm. TV remote did not work. Phone buttons were I-nop, could not call out. Wireless internet isnt free, although most other area hotels provide it at no cost. Air conditioning would not cool the room, and the window would not stay open no matter what we tried. The room had a bad smell. Parking is always a problem.” May 2, 2008 by
Mike from Chicken, AK
“Hotel was great, parking a problem.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Rhonda from Eugene, OR
“This was one of the worst extended stay America hotels I have ever stayed at. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It sagged in the middle and I woke up with a stiff back and neck each day. There was lukewarm water in the shower each day in the mornings. It was very unpleasant to take a shower because it was not hot. Worst than these two problems was the problem with the parking at the hotel. The hotel has only 15-20 spots for guest parking and they want guests to pay $10 extra a day to park in the Diamond Parking lot across from the hotel. They need to have a lot more parking places for as many rooms as they have. A couple of days in a row the even parked their own hotel van in one of these parking spots so there was even less room for guests to park. (This was because they apparently had to have some work done in their usual parking place in front of the hotel; however they should have parked on the street to open up the space for the guests.) A few blocks away from this hotel is another Extended Stay America Deluxe like this one was supposed to be but it is 100 times better than this one. I cannot understand how two places within a few blocks of each other can be so different. They need to do some major changes to the Extended Stay America Deluxe Downtown location because it does not rate a "Deluxe" rating or even the usual "2 star" rating of any of the other Extended Stay America locations I have stayed at (and I have stayed at a lot of them!)” Apr 20, 2008 by
Dorothy from Palmer, AK
“Excellent accommodations in heart of Anchorage, bed were a bit used and halls unvacuumed. Room had layer of dust over everything.” Apr 19, 2008 by
Linda from Seward, AK
“It's not fancy, but clean, and a good place for just an overnight stay. There is not adequate parking, so be prepared to feed a meter or pay for parking in a privately owned parking lot. Not good. Otherwise it is Ok.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Cassie from Juneau, AK
“Had a pleasant enough stay. However there was very little free parking and ended up paying to park across the street; also, they were putting a new roof on, so I did experience some noise from that in the afternoon. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful!” Apr 18, 2008 by
Chelsea from Valdez, AK
“The Extended Stay hotel was quit pleasant, other than the fact of the parking, and the elevator sounded like it was going to die every time you rode it. The place was for the most part clean, but the amenities in the rooms were lacking. There was no soap or shampoo, we had to ask twice for towels, and the heater would not shut off! But all in all, it was in my budget, so it worked out fine.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Arvin from Bethel, AK
“This is a nice and comfortable hotel located in the heart of Anchorage and is very close to shopping, meeting locations, and business offices.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Fletch from Homer, AK
“Convenient to Downtown. Decent size rooms w/kitchenettes. Coffee bar with bagels (not breakfast). Good fast wireless for $5/month. Thin walls, marginal hot water, no Comedy Central!” Apr 9, 2008 by
Julie from Homer, AK
“The hotel is conveniently located in the Downtown area, though not particularly close to shopping or restaurants (within walking distance). The swimming pool and spa area was clean. Our room was comfortable and equipped with a cook top range, apartment sized refrigerator (not under the counter), microwave, coffee pot (4-cup size found in many hotels these days. No filters though so had to use the coffee packs provided by hotel), cooking utensils, etc. The only real down side of the facility was the parking. There were only 26-30 spaces on premises and once they were filled, you either parked on the street or at a lot across the street ($10/day).” Apr 9, 2008 by
Lynda from Kasilof, AK
“We had stayed at this hotel before with pleasant results. This time however, the room was a smoking room and smelled terrible. The bed was broke and uncomfortable. the heat was poorly regulated. we had it off and still had to have our window open (it is the beginning of April in Alaska!) it was so hot in the room.” Mar 31, 2008 by
Mary from Sterling, AK
“Facilities clean; staff average; poor housekeeping.” Mar 31, 2008 by
Lynda from Kasilof, AK
“However, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, there was even a kitchenette. The best part was we did not incur the additional charge for parking.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Gene from New Stuyahok, AK
“Nice room, nice location, poor parking availability.” Mar 22, 2008 by
Beth from Seward, AK
“Nice hotel, convenient to Downtown Anchorage - across from the courthouse and museum. Pool. Large room with kitchen amenities - would be great for traveling with kids.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Amber from Soldotna, AK
“The hotel was very nice. The room felt a bit small with two preschoolers and infant, but we were impressed with the newly remodeled kitchen in the room. The hotel had a pool and spa, which we did not have time to utilize. We did, however, make use of the DVD player in the room, which was very nice. I have often wished hotels provided those. The hotel provided a very limited continental breakfast, which I was not even aware of prior to our stay, so that was a little bonus. Our only complaint would be the intensity of an air freshener in our room which we could not locate and gave us headaches.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Greg from Bethel, AK
“The front desk person was very helpful and disappointed that we left without spending the night there. After checking in, we went up to our room on the 3rd floor, and it had been left propped open. I called the front desk, and they agreed to give us another room if it would help us feel safer. When we got to that room, on the 2nd floor, it also was propped open. Front desk said the maid service probably forgot to close those doors. Several other guests were in and out of the hotel, and we felt like several could very well be going in and out of those open rooms. The hotel is in an unsafe feeling area of downtown to begin with, so we opted for going to a different hotel. Fortunately, the hotel workers were very comfortable and easy to work with, and even let me back into the rooms after we left to check for my missing backpack which I later found in the very 1st room we checked in to. This could be a comfortable hotel, however, but I guess I would not recommend it for a young family.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Pat from Lincon, CA
“My adult daughter and I were in Anchorage attending the Iditarod Race. Staff was knowledgeable, but didn't appear to like their jobs. No smiles. No housekeeping provided. We had to go to front desk for shampoo, clean towels, and to empty our own trash. Kitchen was complete. Room clean. For the economy traveler you get your money's worth, but definitely no frills. We were disappointed in the minimal continental breakfast: coffee or tea, beagles, oranges or apples. No cereal, juice, milk, hot chocolate, etc.” Feb 25, 2008 by
Sonja from Homer, AK
“This hotel was quite adequate and it was nice having kitchen facilities. The business center was small with only one computer. The morning coffee bar just had bagels, coffee and apples and oranges. Room was clean and large. Pool, small hot tub. Very little parking.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Fred from Manokotak, AK
“The hotel is located close to the convention center and most of the shopping centers and restaurants.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Debra from Kenai, AK
“This hotel was clean, staff was friendly, price was more than reasonable. I have stayed there several times and it's always exceeded my expectations. Would be nice if they expanded their breakfast foods just a tiny bit. Cereal, milk and juice or waffles. It wouldn't matter what, just a bit more of something.” Feb 12, 2008 by
Krista from Nikiski, AK
“I liked the big room and was so happy to see the exercise room and the pool. The pool does not open until 10:00 AM. That really limits its use. (I like to get up and swim), but you can't at this hotel. I was disappointed at the cleanliness, but I did get a great rate on this hotel.” Feb 6, 2008 by
Lisa from Fairbanks, AK
“Very good location. Spacious and comfortable room with nice bathroom and kitchen set up. Room was clean, had excellent view of Chugiach Mountains. There was a pool, hot tub, workout equipment and an office to use.” Feb 4, 2008 by
Donald from Henderson, NV
“I stayed at this hotel during January while I saw to the final arrangements of my mother. The entire staff was very accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel especially the staff. My one disappointment was that the spa was not open 24 hours and with the lack of daylight hours, I was never really sure what time it was.” Feb 4, 2008 by
Charlie from Soldotna, AK
“This hotel is excellent to stay in if you're planning to be in town for a few days. It looks more like an efficiency apartment than a hotel room. Everything is spotless and tastefully decorated. It's located moments away from some of the larger shopping complexes, and is mostly quiet at night as it is situated in a business district. An excellent place to stop over for Fur Rondy or anytime you is looking to stay in Anchorage.” Jan 28, 2008 by
James from Mcgrath, AK
“The hotel was pretty comfortable, but the hot water was not hot when we needed a shower (as in, every morning). The parking situation is really a nightmare. The curb appeal is very nice though and the staff was friendly and helpful.” Jan 26, 2008 by
Lee from Homer, AK
“For the price, a decent place to stay with convenient access to Downtown Anchorage.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Jerry from Soldotna, AK
“Narrow hallways, Hall carpets need replacement, beds lacked comfort, limited parking or left to park on the street. Location of motel is within the homeless in town. Continental Breakfast of coffee, bagel, and fruit (Orange or apple) is not what I would consider adequate. Do not consider this to be a 2 star motel.” Jan 23, 2008 by
Leona from Point Hope, AK
“Everything was just great, like I said it would have been nice for the room to be cleaned at least twice a week when you stay more than a week.” Jan 19, 2008 by
Connie from Homer, AK
“Nice quiet place to rest.” Jan 16, 2008 by
Ferdinand from Manokotak, AK
“This convenient down town extended stay deluxe hotel is walking distance from the convention hall where large convention are held. They also provides shuttle service to the convention hall or to shopping malls.” Jan 12, 2008 by
Kimberley from Seward, AK
“I would still recommend this property in a second, and I will stay there again. Front desk agent was a bit rude and unhelpful. Bedding did not fit mattress and it made it hard to sleep. Otherwise (usually) a great place.” Jan 11, 2008 by
Rebecca from Kenai, AK
“My family and I would highly recommend staying here. Plenty of room, nice and clean.” Jan 10, 2008 by
Tricia from Glennallen, AK
“Staff was very nice and paid for taxi to get there.” Jan 9, 2008 by
Jennifer from Valdez, AK
“Horrible Hotel.” Jan 6, 2008 by
Heidi from Shaktoolik, AK
“I was disappointed when I first arrived since my room was not cleaned. The bed was not made and the room smelled like severe mildew. But overall my stay was nice. Shuttle from the airport. Indoor pool that was small but not bad when a billion children were not in it. The staff were friendly and well mannered. Breakfasts were not extensive but there was hot coffee and bagels. Location is very near the Anchorage Museum and other Downtown places but it is a walk. Parking was sometimes a problem since it was downtown. Extra expenses were $4.99 for the internet connection and a possible $7.99 a day to park if you were not lucky enough to snag a good parking spot and its free if your stay is over a week. Overall nice but the mildew smell does get you.” Jan 6, 2008 by
Marcia from Kenai, AK
“We were greeted by very friendly workers and a warm area.” Jan 5, 2008 by
Linda from Seward, AK
“This hotel has been cleaner on previous stays. The room we were given was not ready when we went up, but staff quickly remedied the problem. For what we paid, this hotel was OK.” Jan 5, 2008 by
Diane from Sterling, AK
“I would stay there again.” Jan 3, 2008 by
Bonnie from Soldotna, AK
“This room leaves a lot to be desired in clean! This is the 2nd time I stayed here and can not believe the filth! I am scheduled to be there tonight and I'm not looking forward to it! This time I will have my daughter with me and I worry about our health! That is how discussing it was!” Jan 3, 2008 by
Barbara from Homer, AK
“A very clean, nice looking hotel with pleasant staff. I would be happy to stay there again.” Jan 2, 2008 by
Rod from Sterling, AK
“Not a good review. Sheets had recent pee stain. Shuttle was never available, breakfast was crappy. Old fruit and bagels also were gone with in first hour of breakfast. Fire alarm was pulled in the middle of the night and we stood outside for 1 hour while cops ran through building with guns drawn. Hotel employees would never say what happened!” Dec 30, 2007 by
Diane from Kodiak, AK
“Good location, friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend for someone who has a long stay (refrigerator, microwave, etc).” Dec 26, 2007 by
Jacquie from Sterling, AK
“We were extremely pleased with the location, the staff was friendly, and the rooms were spacious, and comfortable. The kitchenette area would lend itself to an extended stay, though we stayed only overnight. There was a laundry service, pop and ice machine on our floor also. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.” Dec 20, 2007 by
Rebecca from Kenai, AK
“Highly recommend staying there. Great family atmosphere.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Lynn from Moose Pass, AK
“I almost had the sense that this is a hotel the "homeless" get put up in. Can't quite put my finger on why. But was the impression I got from my fellow occupants, some had an air of "ownership" like they lived there.” Dec 18, 2007 by
Moni from Seward, AK
“This would be an excellent hotel if it was clean.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Cedric from Wesley Chapel, AK
“I have put this in my top five for the traveling I do.”
