• Great location.
• Charge for parking.

“Very nice hotel, but I am surprised that an upscale hotel like this charges for parking. The matresses are very comfortable. Overall, one of my favorite places to stay in Anchorage.”

• Well located for my meeting.
• Extremely noise room - internal not external noise.

“Really like the Anchorage Hilton but there were several disturbances that resulted in a less than pleasant night's sleep. In my particular room there was a high pitched squeal (from the water pipes?) on and off every couple of minutes which never abated. There was also a thumping which I finally concluded might have been the elevator whenever it ran? Then there were the guests on the floor above me who sounded like a herd of elephants at 1:00 a.m. and finally went down for the night at 2:00 a.m. Certainly made for a memorable night but wouldn't make me excited to stay at the Hilton again.”

• Location is great.
• Parking is not adequate. Inconvenient.

• The front desk people were very nice. The pool and hot tub hours were very accommodating. Very nice view.
• The carpeting in our room was a little stained and we would have liked a fridge.

“The Hilton Anchorage is a top rate hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are a decent size to accommodate an extra cot. I appreciated not being charged for the cot. The pool was open long hours to accommodate early risers and late night sleepers. The beds were very comfortable.”

• Clean, professionally managed hotel. Each stay the same as the last.
• Not as convenient as it once was. Anchorage center has moved. Not the fault of hotel.

“Very pleasant hotel. The older tower was the premier hotel in Anchorage for years, and now the new tower takes it's place. Excellent, efficient staff, and clean, comfortable rooms are the norm.”

• Great workout room, pool and steam room.
• Rooms need upgrading, towel rack falling off wall, bad view.

“Stayed here with my family, husband and two kids 17 & 11, the beds were doubles instead of queens, comfortable though, the room needed a little tlc, paint scratches on walls, towel rack falling off wall in bathroom, the door adjoining room would not lock, luckily there was a nice old lady in the next room. Lobby and all was gorgeous, the rest of the hotel could use an upgrade.”

• They let my dog stay (for $25) and loaned us a wheelchair.
• Room service food was cold, pop machine gave wrong sodas, ice machine broken.

“Overall, the stay (which was to stay in the city after an out patient surgery) was fine, with the exception of the small details were noted above. Also, we got the room with the worst view in the house (overlooking boiler stacks and rooftop vents).”

• The beds and pillows were awesome.
• It's location made it a very noisy stay.

“I was very disappointed with how noisy the location was. Drag racing cars and people screaming outside all night. The very early morning train horns blowing. This all did not lend to a restful night.”

• Clean rooms, warm but not snuffy, good showers, room service.
• Can't think of anything this trip.

“Easy location to stay in downtown Anchorage. Our family enjoys it because they have a pool. We like it because it feels safe and secure. Doormen in the lobby but not intrusive. We still feel we have our privacy.”

• Good restaurant, friendly staff, nice lobby.
• Older rooms, older baths, minimal space in bath.

“Hotel was nice, staff courteous, temperature in room was quite hot, cafe had good food, bed was comfortable, bath was very small, had tile and grout stains and mold problem, overall a fine stay, and got what we asked for.”

• The hotel staff was great.
• Sink was backing up as was the shower.

“The staff was great. Hotel location was right downtown. But the room was tiny the sink and shower kept backing up. By the time the hotel staff would show up it would go back down. I think we just got a small bad room. Room #1020 stay far away from it. The rest of the hotel was great.”

• Parking was expensive at the hotel, had to walk a few blocks for reasonably priced parking.

“I did not like that when we asked to check in an hour early the guy refused straightaway, and then proceeded to give us a nice view of the back of a building and right by the loud air conditioning system.”

“Hotel lobby was clean, but the garbage from the previous guest was left on the bathroom counter. Room was facing the docks and train tracks, so was very noisy. Would not stay there again if we had a choice.”

• Parking garage to far away. Valet Parking only. Food too expensive.

“Hotel is one of the best in Anchorage. It is down town, close to shopping. For Vacation it is the best. Has nice rooms. Large and very comfy.”

• Nice atmosphere, Star bucks in the lobby.
• Our king sized bed barely fit in the small room.

“While the name means sophistication and quality, that is not what we received when we stayed there. Our room was smaller than my boy's room at home the bed barely fit. The fitness equipment was broke and so was the hot tub. There was no hot water in the morning for our shower and the blow dryer only blew cold air. I asked for a full refund but they declined.”

• The hotel has a very nice fitness center with a pool, hot tub, exercise equipment and a steam room that is located in the locker/dressing room.
• None of the ice machines were working. Several guests and I had to go to the restaurant to find ice. Parking is a block away. Valet parking is $14.00

“The hotel lobby area was extremely busy. Since most flights out of Anchorage are at night, it explained why the lobby was packed at midnight. We needed to get back to the hotel late at night and there is a rowdy bar on the corner near the parking garage that had 3 police cars there when we had to pass by.”

• The lobby was very clean and the people nice.
• The room stunk, the was an odor that smell of dirty socks. It was nasty.

“When told about the odor in the room there did not seem to be much caring from the hotel. I was very disappointed in that. I know it can happen, but the lack of feeling on our part was disappointing.”

• The pillow mattress was very comfortable and I had a great night sleep.
• The hotel did not supply body lotion along with the soap, shampoo and cream rinse which is standard in most hotels.

“Our stay at the Hilton was very enjoyable. The bed was very comfortable, the room temperature was good, great water pressure for the shower, and plenty of thick towels. We would highly recommed the Hilton to our friends & family.”

• i got a good price
• everything was very run-down

“to open the front door, i had to put my shoulder and entire weight into it. i was trapped in the bathroom because the door stuck. it had to be opened from outside. the shower was so small that there was no way to shower without drenching the entire room. the jacuzzi was broken. there was no free wireless, while a 2 star hotel 2 blocks away had free wireless. the door on the tv cabinet would not stay open, but instead swung closed so you couldn't watch tv without propping it open.”

• The bed was very lush and comfortable.
• Front desk person that checked me into hotel gave me a key to a room that was already in use.

• The manager on duty took care of an issue we had & had compensated us with a breakfast for our inconvience.
• The maid walked in on my husband at 8:15am in the morning. She actually knocked & walked in at the same time

“The hotel was actually alot more than we had bargained for. For the price we paid, we got an awesome deal! It was clean, had on-site resturants, gift shop, and offered alot of corporate ammenities. I would definetley stay there again!”

• The hotel was in a perfect location for shopping, eating and walking. They staff was great and the rooms were clean.
• I didn't have anything I didn't like.

“This hotel is located in downtown Anchorage. It is close for walking to all the shopping, eating and the downtown market. I would recommend this hotel strongly to anyone.”

“Beautifully built. Located in the middle of downtown, right across the street from the weekend street vendor activity. Was able to park our SUV and boat in a parking lot only 2 blocks away.”

• I loved the feather beds - the beds were extremely comfortable!
• There was no microwave in the room for popcorn!

• Poor quality room and very small

“If you are willing to pay full price for this hotel and get a great room it is an excellent place to stay. The hotel lobby is beautiful, but the room I got was small, old, the air conditioning did not work and just wasn't what you would expect out of a Hilton brand hotel. And be prepared to pay $7 per day to park away from the hotel. They do not have any on-site parking.”

• parking, no air conditioning

“It was awful. I thought that it was a 3-star hotel, but we didn't even have air conditioning and our window would not open. Also, my husband and I both have arthritis. We had asked for a hotel near the airport, but received one downtown and had to walk, carrying all of our luggage, two and a half blocks to the hotel. AND we had to pay for parking! After the painful walk, we were hoping to relax in this "3-star" hotel, but were quite disappointed.”
