“I visited for a 5 night stay in June 2007, the resort is undergoing renovation. The Royal Sea Cliff is a time share resort is a time share property ( I didn't know that when I booked) so the accommodations vary room to room depending on how much the owners put into it. My brother and his family had a beautiful room and well-kept room. The furniture in our 1 bed/1 bath room was sparse and outdated. Our A/C didn't work, and the staff didn't offer to move us until the 4th night of our stay. I will never stay at another Outrigger Resort. My experience was horrible.”

• Friendly people, nice bar and grill, lovely view, small fridge to keep drinks and snacks.
• The room wasn't cleaned on two occasions because we were in the room when they arrived which was about 5:30.

“We left the place that we had reserved for a 6 night stay. It was a horrible b & b near captain cook. Because it was new year's eve we had a difficult time finding a room and would never have found one if not for the help of another hotel that was booked. The outrigger was beautiful and there is a great beach next door - we saw a lot of sea turtles while eating lunch at the grill. They have beautiful grounds and hammocks in front of the beach. The sunsets are wonderful and it's a spectator favorite. Lots of people come out to the wrap around deck nod the lawn to snap pictures. The ocean view from our room was great and the sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep every night. In the morning we made coffee and sat on the lanai watching the waves and the surfers who were out at 7:00 am! The valets were very nice and helpful with directions and things to do on the big island. The front desk people were very friendly and the expedient desk in the lobby has information on all the activities available on the island. On their recommendation we went on a zodiac raft and saw whales and snorkeled in two great areas. We also went to a wonderful luau and we loved both of their recommendations. I would recommend the outrigger to friends.”

• Nice sunset.
• Room smelled, only one bed, dirty with moldy ceilings gross!

“I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Definitely not 3***s. For budget minded travelers this might be ok if their expectations are low not expecting 3* but 1*.No restaurant on site is a huge problem with no where to have breakfast close by. This was a huge disappointment.”

• No pay per view movies

“I stayed 1 week at the Royal Sea Cliff in a 2 bedroom partial oceanview suite. I had an awesome vaction and the hotel was absolutely beautiful. The room was great, very spacious and clean, and the staff was extremely friendly. There are daily activities for kids and adults, and it is probably less than a mile to many restaurants and shops. The open air and unique floorplan of the hotel made for a very tropical and relaxing feeling throughout.”
