• Location. For the location and the price it is an excellent value.
• Rooms are rather plain and dated. The hotel could use a remodel.

“ For a Waikiki beach hotel it is an excellent value with a wonderful location and a sufficient number of amenities. The location is phenomenal, right across from the beach with lots of dining choices with a couple of blocks. Breakfast is offered every morning with a backdrop of live Hawaiian music and a hula dancer, a really special touch. The Tikki bar is also a lot of fun with live music every night. But the rooms are rather spartan so if you're going to Waikiki to spend a lot of time in your room, go elsewhere, however, if you want to be in the center of the action, stay here. ”

• Great location, The view from our lanai was awesome!
• The room was a bit small and a bit crowded.

“Very nice location with fantastic view. Hotel staff was very friendly. The elevators were not at all slow as I had read in other reviews, they have a unique system in order to get everyone up and down with minimum waiting. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning with the soothing Hawaiian music and Hula dancing!”

• Convenient to the beach.
• Free breakfast was not good. Ocean view rm-stand on balcony
  and stick head out
  and look to R. Their definition.

“Would not stay there again. No coffee maker in room. Upholstery dirty on chair. Hair on bath tub. Had iron but no ironing board. Reserved partial ocean view. Discussed with hotel personnel- told if I stood on my (2 foot wide) balcony and leaned my head out
and looked to the R; I could see the ocean. All I could do was laugh.Free breakfast was rolls, juice
and coffee. Elevators were fine
and the
good security. Bed was comfortable. Hotel clerk was courteous
and registration was smooth. Hotel was not what I was use to staying at
and I would not recommend it.”

• Access to the beach and shops was fantastic, the view from tho west side was worth a million dollars.
• Everything you need costs extra, safe, pool towels, excessive valet charges.

“We stayed on the sevententh floor on the west side and the view was fantastic. Sunset, Surfers, Boogie boarders, Swimmers all right in front of you from the balcony. The room was small for a family of four, not much room to move around luggage.”

• Car valet was efficient.
• No room service, elevators are terrible.

“You can't charge to your room at the pool or restaurant. No coffee in room. Bathroom was small and unclean. Elevators were being worked on so service was slow. Wouldn't stay here again.”

• The valet people did a outstanding job with my car.
• Very poor maintenance, elevators are the worst of any hotel.

“In a good location, just changed the name again, maintenance is poor as lots of ice with machines not working. Rooms were not cleaned very well, I feel that they are cutting back on help, but still selling there rooms to make as big a profit as possible and customers expense.”

• They did give me a great room, suite on the top floor overlooking the beach.
• 9.95 per day for internet access, free in most other hotels I stay in.

“It is a very nice hotel, on Waikiki beach, who can complain? It was beautiful every day, the doorwall to the balcony stayed open 24/7, really it was just beautiful. Non-smoking law in
any building in Hawaii was a bit of a problem, but I was outside most of the time anyway, because it is actually Waikiki Beach and you don't go there to sit inside.”

• Tiki restaurant and bar was the greatest! We also loved breakfast at the beach.
• Room was small, and the lobby bathrooms weren't always clean.

“We always noticed that our hotel looked like it was the funniest place on Waikiki. There was live music every morning and night, and the Tiki restaurant and bar was amazing. Our bed was comfy, the room (although small) looked nice, and the view was great! The staff members were friendly and helpful, and while it was pretty far down the Waikiki strip, it was still a close walk to everything needed. While not business friendly, the resort guest made it tons of fun for leisure travelers and families alike!”

• The breakfast in the morning.
• Using keycards in the elevator.

“The hotel was very pretty outside. The bed spreads and the balcony were the best parts of the room. My husband loved the plasma and the movies that he could rent. The pool was to small. So ended up opting for the beach. Which was awesome because it was so close. The hotel staff was not friendly but luckily we did not have to interact with them much.”

• Great location across the street from Waikiki public beach.
• The buffet breakfast ran out of almost all items over 30 minutes before the scheduled end time.

“Great location across the street from the beach. Entertainment during part of the complimentary breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Quieter than most of the other beach locations we've tried. There is lots of construction currently on Waikiki.”

• I liked the convenience to the beach and shops of Waikiki and cleanliness. Friendly garage staff. Breakfast by pool.
• Long wait for elevators, restaurant music reaching 19th floor, $20 valet parking, noise from hall. High crab breakfast.

“The rooms were very clean but very small with no room to open our luggage. We didn't like paying $20 a day for parking then needing to tip the attendant every time we wanted our car. We loved having a little complimentary snack cooler to get our breakfast to go. The live music and Hula girl at breakfast were a pleasant surprise. It was very located in the center of everything which was great. I sensed the staff was stressed. Overall, we liked our stay.”

• Location was great. View of Diamondhead and beach was wonderful.
• Hotel is older and rooms, especially bathrooms are small and in need of updating. Balcony doors did not lock.

“Hotel with great location in Waikiki. Wonderful views of Diamondhead and beach. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and had many selections, not just a continental breakfast. Rooms are dated and small, especially bathrooms. Good for family. Highly recommended.”

• The decorating had a fun, original island flavor. Staff was very friendly.
• You had to use your room card to operate the elevator and it didn't work well. $20/day valet parking.

• The mattress was excellent.
• I got food poisoning from the restaurant's drink that made vomiting all night the second the first night.

“Other than misfortune of food poisoning, everything was pleasant especially the bed. We got a free room upgrade and they let us check-in two hours earlier after learning that we didn't have any sleep on the plane from Asia. Free breakfast and allowing us to take it out to the beach was nice.”

• Bathrooms were small, had no vents. Could hear neighbors.

“Great location to the beach and at the end of the Waikiki strip! Easy to enjoy breakfast on the beach or a walk down the main strip. Shops and restaurants were plentiful in a short walking distance. Would stay again.”

• The live music, but that's why I'm not sure about business travelers.
• They could offer self parking.

“We were completely satisfied. The lanai was a nice touch, so you could step outside and enjoy the fresh air and the view. The accommodations were as anticipated, we enjoyed the live music, and the hotel staff was excellent!”

• We were on the 24th floor. Above my comfort level.

“The lobby is on the second floor which is confusing when you first arrive. The cost of parking is very high. Right on the beach but the breakfast left something to be desired.”

“The Resort Quest Waikiki Beach Hotel was right in the heart of the popular Waikiki Beach area, near shopping and the famous beach. The hotel was nice enough, beds were comfortable, but it felt very geared toward the tourist crowd, which is either a positive or negative depending on your preference. There were a lot of families with kids around the hotel and small pool. Overall, it was fine for one night, but personally I wouldn't want to stay for any extended time.”

• Based Location, it was ok.
• It bothers me that they charge $20/day to park your car! I always thought the right to park your car came with renting the room.

“This hotel was ok, based on location. Adequate, but nothing too special. If you are on a budget, looking for adequate housing with good access to Waikiki Beach, this is a good enough place to stay. For our purposes, I would go back. It fit my budget. Biggest complaint was the extra $20/day to park our rental car!”

• Free breakfast, with ability to pack boxed breakfast. Hot breakfast with lots of choices.
• Old rooms. 80's style decor. Amenities are lacking. No safe.

“This hotel is a reasonably clean hotel that seems to have a split personality. The rooms are stuck in an 80's time warp with some aging decor. The lobby sports some modern, lively contemporary interpretations. I was ready to give this hotel 2.5 to 3 stars. But I finally decided to give them a solid 3.5 based on the hospitality and perks they offered. The free hot breakfast bar (featuring Japanese and American breakfasts) was a welcome addition. Surprising variety for a breakfast offering and pro-active towel service for guests. Parking is $20 and it is Valet only. Staff. The elevators are quite annoying since they were never optimized like modern elevators. Their elevators stop too often from outdated elevator programming. Their staff is attentive and responsive. It made up for some of the shortcomings from the need to remodel. It's generally a good hotel. Their hospitality goes a long way. Located on the eastern end of Waikiki, this property offers a great view of Diamond Head and the general surroundings.”

“Room was small but not cramped. It had been recently redone and decor was great - it even had a flat screen TV. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, so got foggy easily. The AC controls didn't seem to work - we couldn't change the temperature. Connected restaurant was excellent. Location across from Waikiki Beach, but noisy all night, and very crowded at all hours.”

• Room too small, balcony was lobby roof, tub plugged.

“The rooms were basic. Our initial room was unsatisfactory, but staff was awesome and changed us to a larger view room. Located right across from the beach and Kalakaua Street, which has plenty of shopping and restaurants. Also a mere 1/2 block from the zoo. Poolside breakfast with takeaway pouches was great. Towels for the beach were plentiful. Staff was very friendly.”

• Fantastic location, clean, well maintained and nicely decorated.
• Small rooms, the virtual tour of the hotel makes the rooms look much larger, very misleading.

“The hotel is located across the street from Waikiki Beach and near every kind of shopping imaginable. Restaurants of every price level and quality are within walking distance. The rooms are on the small size and bathroom, while clean and well maintained, are no more than adequate. The rooms sport a large flat screen TV but come with a remote that was not designed for the set. Since the aspect ration of the TV was set to wide screen mode and couldn't be changed with the wrong remote, all the characters on normal TV were distorted. The channel selection was also limited. Our room had a small Lanai that looked toward the Ocean and downtown Honolulu, excellent view. The Lanai is best suited for one person; it would be nice for it to be larger. Additionally the sliding glass door only opens half way. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch and the pool area was nice. The Tiki lounge had live entertainment and seemed to be a hot spot.”

• Nice location. Nice ambiance. Good free complete breakfast. Nice color. Room really comfortable.
• There is no free shuttle between the hotel and the airport. I guess it's like that for all hotels in the area = for the business of the shuttle.

“This is a really nice hotel. You should all take that one. The price is really good and, according to me, it is more than a 3 stars. Every morning you have a free complimentary breakfast (fruits, juice, coffee, sandwich, miso soup, yogurt and more) and a little band by the pool. The color and ambiance of the hotel is wonderful. They are friendly. Probably the best hotel I ever stay (and I was in Hilton and Fairmont hotel before). Best quality-price. Best ambiance. By the water. PERFECT!”
