“Every year for the past six years my wife and I travel to Honolulu to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This hotel was the first to not recognize the celebration and they gave us a room next to the elevator. I just had ear surgery last month and the noise was very loud.” Dec 4, 2009 by
Linda from Coquitlam,Canada
“Excellent hotel with excellent staff. Nice pool with great poolside service (cold wet face towels and refreshing icicles served up daily free) nice pool loungers. Nice shops and restaurants within the complex.” Oct 4, 2009 by
Nancy from Kalamazoo,MA
“Absolutely perfect!” Sep 14, 2009 by
Jane from Ketchikan,AK
“The hotel is very nice and even though it has an open air plaza in the center with lots of shops it is secure. I was traveling alone with my teenage daughter and the security was great.” Sep 2, 2009 by
Rachel from Austin,TX
“If you're spending a good chunk of time on Waikiki, this hotel has a great location right across the street from the beach and some of the best beach bars. Parking is really expensive, but it is Waikiki, I suppose. My husband went down to check out the pool and was shocked at how small it was for such a huge hotel!” Aug 19, 2009 by
dennis from Fullerton,CA
“Pool is small for a resort hotel. 2 bad rooms per floor (next to elevator and noisy) too few amenity for a resort hotel.” Aug 5, 2009 by
Don from Miami Lakes,FL
“A truly beautiful facility with beautiful public spaces and spacious well appointed rooms. It was well worth our Priceline bid.” Jul 25, 2009 by
Neil from Burlingame,CA
“Rooms were large and beautifully decorated. Large size toiletry items. Impeccably clean. All staff members from check-in to house keepers were friendly and helpful.” Jul 25, 2009 by
Sarah from Astoria,NY
“This hotel is really gorgeous. It's clean, it's got very private lanais and everything you need can be found in the shops on the lobby level. The staff are amazingly nice. I switched hotels halfway through my stay and it was the best decision I made on my trip. The food was good, and the view from the pool is great.” Jun 22, 2009 by
Paula from Evans,GA
“This hotel was a great place to stay on Waikiki beach. Our room looked like it had just been remodeled. the furniture still smelled new. we even had a refrigerator so that we could keep drinks in the room. the room was spacious and very comfortable. our stay there was delightful.” Jun 1, 2009 by
Grace from Fremont,CA
“My husband and I just got married in Hawaii and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. We did not mention this to the hotel as we were not looking for special treatment. We were so poorly treated though by the front desk staff. When asking about parking and how it works, we were grilled like criminals because the guy didn't think we were staying at the hotel. Once that was prov-en he reluctantly validated our parking ticket which was not what we wanted! We just wanted to know how parking works, since it is extremely confusing at this hotel (it's across the street and you get a ticket every time you go in). Even at the great rate we got, we will May 30, 2009 by

“Was excellent location, the shops were great, it's rooms were quiet, and clean.” May 29, 2009 by
Jules from Oklahoma City,OK
“Very nice and the people were helpful. But would have liked a phone book in the room to call for pizza, got tired of calling the concierge for every thing.” May 29, 2009 by
Zoomz from Vancouver,Canada
“Loved the Friday Aloha performance.” May 24, 2009 by
Donna from Hawkins,TX
“This is the place to stay for cleanliness, comfort, location to beach, restaurants, shopping, transportation, and friendly staff. What more could you ask for!” Apr 30, 2009 by
Wayne from Parker,CO
“Excellent facilities, accommodations and restaurants. Professional, courteous and helpful staff.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Michael from Dallas,TX
“Everything you need is there. Laundromat, doctor's office, grocery stores and restaurants. Convenience, comfort, attentive staff. The only major complaint is that a hotel of this quality and price charges guests for internet access. That is unthinkable.” Apr 3, 2009 by
Lee from Elk Ridge,UT
“The hotel staff was very friendly and cooperative - they even gave champagne to celebrate our anniversary. We especially were impressed with their willingness to hold our luggage and give us a hospitality room to freshen up before we left to catch a night flight.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Sarah from Belfast,ME
“The man at the front desk was very helpful and kind. The cleaning staff was efficient and thorough. We loved walking through the lobby areas. Our only disappointment was with the restaurant's lack of organic options for the breakfast.” Mar 4, 2009 by
Linda from Garnett,KS
“It was a nice room. A very high hotel. If you don't like heights this hotel is not for you. Everything here very expensive, from shops to restaurants. Very loud in area. We were on the 26th floor and heard loud music etc late into the night.” Feb 23, 2009 by
Lani from Kent,WA
“Pool staff was awesome but the sun didn't come out until 10:30 and the pool waitress was the best and very attentive. Food was great as well at the Elegant Dive.” Feb 21, 2009 by
Debra from Dayton,OH
“Excellent place to stay. A little pricey for the breakfast buffet ($25 plus tax). Beautiful terrace for sunset viewing with drinks. The desk staff was very helpful. All staff was very friendly and the room was great.” Feb 3, 2009 by
Jenny from New York,NY
“It really was a fabulous hotel. I was very excited to stay there!” Jan 7, 2009 by
Catherine from Lake Forest Park,WA
“This was a nice hotel but it did seem dated. The bathroom was not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel, and the noise level was definitely high. We probably could have been moved if we would have complained but it was 10:30 at night and we didn't feel like moving. If we had been staying more than one night we definitely would have asked for another room. Great location and very pleasant staff.” Dec 11, 2008 by
Jason from Vancouver,Canada
“Although the hotel is in a excellent location, the room I got on check in was next to the elevator shaft, I had to request another room. The front desk was very helpful in changing my room to a quieter room.” Nov 21, 2008 by
Lily from Honolulu,HI
“I recommend this hotel: the staff was friendly, the location was great, and all around We had a great anniversary!” Nov 19, 2008 by
Charles from San Jose,CA
“Had a great vacation and the kids loved our server at the Elephant Dive Bar beside the pool!” Nov 8, 2008 by
“The rooms were very nice with beautiful views of the beach. The staff was extremely helpful. Would stay here again if I ever go back to Hawaii.” Oct 31, 2008 by
Mark
“The service at front desk was outstanding, housekeeeping great and Barbara at the pool always attentive with the tropical drinks.” Oct 17, 2008 by
Peter
“Overall, it's a nice hotel but beware that they charge for parking ($25 per day) and internet access ($10 per day). It's a good location - not right on the beach but across the street from beach.

“Clean and great location. A 4 stars standard.” Oct 4, 2008 by

“Beautiful hotel at a very central location. The only thing we did not like that internet is not included.

“We really enjoyed our stay. We did not visit any of the restaurants. The room was very nice and the view was outstanding.
Sep 14, 2008 by
Suzanne from Denver, NC
“The location is good for visiting Waikiki, bed was very comfortable, however the bathroom was very dirty which made the overall stay not as enjoyable.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Kathryn from Waianae, HI
“The Hyatt Regency Waikiki is a wonderful beautiful hotel. The staff was friendly. When I lost my parking ticket, they gave me a new one at no extra cost. When that parking ticket didn't work they were efficient to let me leave still without question. The hotel rooms are new and remodeled. Also the parking garage, two cars can not go up and down at the same time, it's very tight. The parking lot was probably the worst part of my stay there.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Rick from Roseville, CA
“Nice rooms but too much commercialism and congestion. No feel for being in Hawaii more like a giant mall.” Sep 12, 2008 by
mel from lihue,Hi
“I stayed there for 3 days for a seminar and the room that I stayed in was very nice and clean I stayed at the tenth floor. When I went to go the seminar at 8:30 am my seminar started at 9:00 am. I waited for the elevator to come up to bring me down for 30 minutes. And when I checked out the next day the escalator wasn't working I had to carry my heavy luggage and my carry-on going down the step of the escalator I didn't know if there was even an elevator going down the ground level.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Edward from San Francisco, CA
“The Hyatt brings casual sophistication to Waikiki beach. The staff is outstanding and really demonstrates that Aloha Spirit.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Naresh from Cranston, RI
“The hotel has well trained staff, they start speaking with you on first name basis immediately. Location was excellent facing Waikiki Beach. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, house-keeping service was almost immediate.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Paolo from New York, NY
“The open design of the hotel is very much in keeping with the ambience of Honolulu. A good variety of restaurants to choose from. A good number of shops within the hotel. Very convenient location for eating out at other places or going shopping. The beach is right across the street. The front desk staff is friendly. The hotel is clean and well maintained.” Sep 6, 2008 by
J from Arlington, TX
“Its a great hotel that is next to the beach and very close to shopping centers. Pretty clean. Only thing was the slow elevators.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Matt from Austin, TX
“This hotel is two huge towers, holds hundreds to thousands of people, but the pool area literally only has about 25-30 lawn chairs and its considered a resort on the beach, so people are there to be in the sun. If you were lucky enough to get a lounge chair, people were standing all around waiting for you or someone else to leave so that they could get a chair. Also, you can't get to all the bottom floors via elevators/escalators, so you find yourself taking the elevator, then the escalator, then getting back on the elevator to find your way to the bottom. When you did need to take an elevator, the average wait time was greater than 5 minutes. The layout of the hotel is also very hard to navigate. You find yourself walking around a huge circle to make it across a room because of the way its laid out. In all, I wouldn't stay here again.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Jacob from Rosenberg, TX
“The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa is a great resort on Waikiki beach. It is near all the main shopping and tourist attractions such as Diamond Head Crater and Pearl Harbor. All the rooms are spacious, comfortable and include a balcony. This resort, however, is very large and impersonal. If you like something that focuses on the personal touch and Aloha spirit, a smaller hotel may be more desirable. Happy travels!” Sep 4, 2008 by
Gary from Portland, OR
“I could never afford it. It was an amazing experience! I got to Honolulu once a year, and now, I will always stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki!” Sep 4, 2008 by
Jc from San Mateo, CA
“Our first room in the Diamond Head Tower was directly attached to 2 elevators that were operated until around 10:30 pm. Room was very noisy as if you live right next to a train station or airport. We asked to have a different room, and they were able to give us a quieter room the next day. We didn't sleep very well on our first night but at least it was only one night.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Russ from Aurora, CO
“The hotel was very nice from the outside. However, I was very disappointed with the room's location (next to elevators, very noisy) and the room was dirty (hair and sand in the bathroom was there when we arrived and was there when we departed).” Sep 4, 2008 by
David from Miami, FL
“It is a great location with a great room. The staff does not have a very nice attention to customers. We felt as more some tourists arriving and not as special guests.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Matt
“Beautiful fresh exotic plants, flowers, birds and large waterfall throughout the common areas. Very nice large exceptionally clean room that had been recently redecorated in a subtle luxurious (yet fun) Hawaiian decor. Fine fresh linens. Nice balcony with small table and 2 chairs. Very friendly staff. Plenty of shopping within the hotel and immediately outside the hotel. Excellent central location at Waikiki.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Barbara from Fremont, CA
“The hotel is in a great location right across from the beach. We had a great view from our Lanai overlooking busy Kalakaua and the ocean. The lobby was impressive. There is a 3-story waterfall in the center and large birdcages with talking birds that our kids really enjoyed. There were only a few minor glitches. Something happened to our air conditioner, but when we mentioned it to a repairman who happened to be in the hallway he immediately came in and fixed it! The bathroom could be nicer. It seemed a little dark and cramped, but not terrible. Overall, the Regency is a great hotel. I would definitely stay there again!” Sep 3, 2008 by
Jim from Valencia, CA
“Overall it's a very nice hotel and I would stay there again.”
