• I have nothing good to say.
• The room was horrible.

“Every year for the past six years my wife and I travel to Honolulu to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This hotel was the first to not recognize the celebration and they gave us a room next to the elevator. I just had ear surgery last month and the noise was very loud.”

“The hotel is very nice and even though it has an open air plaza in the center with lots of shops it is secure. I was traveling alone with my teenage daughter and the security was great.”

• The location was wonderful for Waikiki Beach!
• The parking was terrible, Internet only good for one computer.

“If you're spending a good chunk of time on Waikiki, this hotel has a great location right across the street from the beach and some of the best beach bars. Parking is really expensive, but it is Waikiki, I suppose. My husband went down to check out the pool and was shocked at how small it was for such a huge hotel!”

• Perfect cross of luxury hotel and beach bum hotel. They really got that right.
• It didn't have its own bit of beach.

“This hotel is really gorgeous. It's clean, it's got very private lanais and everything you need can be found in the shops on the lobby level. The staff are amazingly nice. I switched hotels halfway through my stay and it was the best decision I made on my trip. The food was good, and the view from the pool is great.”

• This hotel was in a very convenient location for walking to the beach, shopping and dining.
• We had a hard time keeping up with how to get to our room because there was so many entrances and 2 different towers.

“This hotel was a great place to stay on Waikiki beach. Our room looked like it had just been remodeled. the furniture still smelled new. we even had a refrigerator so that we could keep drinks in the room. the room was spacious and very comfortable. our stay there was delightful.”

• Front desk staff was extremely rude.

“My husband and I just got married in Hawaii and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. We did not mention this to the hotel as we were not looking for special treatment. We were so poorly treated though by the front desk staff. When asking about parking and how it works, we were grilled like criminals because the guy didn't think we were staying at the hotel. Once that was prov-en he reluctantly validated our parking ticket which was not what we wanted! We just wanted to know how parking works, since it is extremely confusing at this hotel (it's across the street and you get a ticket every time you go in). Even at the great rate we got, we will
never stay at the Hyatt again until they replace their rude staff.”

• Internet service is 10 dollars a day. Shameful.

“Everything you need is there. Laundromat, doctor's office, grocery stores and restaurants. Convenience, comfort, attentive staff. The only major complaint is that a hotel of this quality and price charges guests for internet access. That is unthinkable.”

• We had a night flight; they held luggage and gave us a room to freshen up.
• Escalators kept breaking down.

“The hotel staff was very friendly and cooperative - they even gave champagne to celebrate our anniversary. We especially were impressed with their willingness to hold our luggage and give us a hospitality room to freshen up before we left to catch a night flight.”

“The man at the front desk was very helpful and kind. The cleaning staff was efficient and thorough. We loved walking through the lobby areas. Our only disappointment was with the restaurant's lack of organic options for the breakfast.”

• Not close enough to the beach. Very hard to carry towels and beach chairs down to the beach yourself.

“It was a nice room. A very high hotel. If you don't like heights this hotel is not for you. Everything here very expensive, from shops to restaurants. Very loud in area. We were on the 26th floor and heard loud music etc late into the night.”

“Excellent place to stay. A little pricey for the breakfast buffet ($25 plus tax). Beautiful terrace for sunset viewing with drinks. The desk staff was very helpful. All staff was very friendly and the room was great.”

• The location is great. The staff was very nice.
• The room was very noisy. The noise from the neighboring hotel's band and the people was very loud with the windows closed.

“This was a nice hotel but it did seem dated. The bathroom was not what you would expect in a 4 star hotel, and the noise level was definitely high. We probably could have been moved if we would have complained but it was 10:30 at night and we didn't feel like moving. If we had been staying more than one night we definitely would have asked for another room. Great location and very pleasant staff.”

“Although the hotel is in a excellent location, the room I got on check in was next to the elevator shaft, I had to request another room. The front desk was very helpful in changing my room to a quieter room.”

• The parking garage is not good. Valet is a must!

“The Hyatt Regency Waikiki is a wonderful beautiful hotel. The staff was friendly. When I lost my parking ticket, they gave me a new one at no extra cost. When that parking ticket didn't work they were efficient to let me leave still without question. The hotel rooms are new and remodeled. Also the parking garage, two cars can not go up and down at the same time, it's very tight. The parking lot was probably the worst part of my stay there.”

• Elevator was too long and escalator wasn't working.

“I stayed there for 3 days for a seminar and the room that I stayed in was very nice and clean I stayed at the tenth floor. When I went to go the seminar at 8:30 am my seminar started at 9:00 am. I waited for the elevator to come up to bring me down for 30 minutes. And when I checked out the next day the escalator wasn't working I had to carry my heavy luggage and my carry-on going down the step of the escalator I didn't know if there was even an elevator going down the ground level.”

“The hotel has well trained staff, they start speaking with you on first name basis immediately. Location was excellent facing Waikiki Beach. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, house-keeping service was almost immediate.”

• No 24 hour room service; bed too firm; low sink.

“The open design of the hotel is very much in keeping with the ambience of Honolulu. A good variety of restaurants to choose from. A good number of shops within the hotel. Very convenient location for eating out at other places or going shopping. The beach is right across the street. The front desk staff is friendly. The hotel is clean and well maintained.”

• Size/seating of pool, layout of hotel is ridiculous.

“This hotel is two huge towers, holds hundreds to thousands of people, but the pool area literally only has about 25-30 lawn chairs and its considered a resort on the beach, so people are there to be in the sun. If you were lucky enough to get a lounge chair, people were standing all around waiting for you or someone else to leave so that they could get a chair. Also, you can't get to all the bottom floors via elevators/escalators, so you find yourself taking the elevator, then the escalator, then getting back on the elevator to find your way to the bottom. When you did need to take an elevator, the average wait time was greater than 5 minutes. The layout of the hotel is also very hard to navigate. You find yourself walking around a huge circle to make it across a room because of the way its laid out. In all, I wouldn't stay here again.”

“The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa is a great resort on Waikiki beach. It is near all the main shopping and tourist attractions such as Diamond Head Crater and Pearl Harbor. All the rooms are spacious, comfortable and include a balcony. This resort, however, is very large and impersonal. If you like something that focuses on the personal touch and Aloha spirit, a smaller hotel may be more desirable. Happy travels!”

• Very convenient location, spacious room, and nice shops.
• Rooms and bathrooms were old & have not been renovated. Swimming pool is a little small, average customer service.

“Our first room in the Diamond Head Tower was directly attached to 2 elevators that were operated until around 10:30 pm. Room was very noisy as if you live right next to a train station or airport. We asked to have a different room, and they were able to give us a quieter room the next day. We didn't sleep very well on our first night but at least it was only one night.”

• Exceptional tropical setting and beautiful decor. Great friendly staff, always smiling and helpful.

“Beautiful fresh exotic plants, flowers, birds and large waterfall throughout the common areas. Very nice large exceptionally clean room that had been recently redecorated in a subtle luxurious (yet fun) Hawaiian decor. Fine fresh linens. Nice balcony with small table and 2 chairs. Very friendly staff. Plenty of shopping within the hotel and immediately outside the hotel. Excellent central location at Waikiki.”

• The view was great, the waterfall was beautiful and the birds were fun.
• The bathroom was small and cramped.

“The hotel is in a great location right across from the beach. We had a great view from our Lanai overlooking busy Kalakaua and the ocean. The lobby was impressive. There is a 3-story waterfall in the center and large birdcages with talking birds that our kids really enjoyed. There were only a few minor glitches. Something happened to our air conditioner, but when we mentioned it to a repairman who happened to be in the hallway he immediately came in and fixed it! The bathroom could be nicer. It seemed a little dark and cramped, but not terrible. Overall, the Regency is a great hotel. I would definitely stay there again!”
