“The staff here is friendly but a little slow to answer requests, for example we called for a blanket and they never brought one. The bathroom is nice with the granite countertops, but I wished they would have cleaned the bathroom better. I loved the balcony and the stylish furniture on it. The location is great, just across the beach and near lots of shops and restaurants. The pool area is nice, and they will give you towels to take down to the beach, which I appreciated. Overall the hotel is very nice, conveniently located, and staff is friendly, the room was nice but should have been cleaned better.” May 15, 2008 by
Tom from Beaumont, CA
“Great, family friendly hotel to stay. Parking is $25 a night if you have an automobile.” May 14, 2008 by
Kathy from Colorado Springs, CO
“It was as I expected. .” May 10, 2008 by
Theresa from Mtn. View, CA
“I rate this hotel highly. It's immaculate, has great updated rooms with flat screen TVs, terrific beds and wonderful shops and restaurants. The Valet service was awesome too. It also has the most central location on Waikiki beach. You do have to cross the street to get to the sand and water, but there is nothing to obscure your view, other than the big ol' Banyan tree!” May 9, 2008 by
Karin from Saratoga Springs, UT
“Overall, a wonderful hotel. I would stay there anytime, if it would be in a different located room.” May 7, 2008 by
Christine from San Diego, CA
“This hotel certainly has 5 star qualities: beautiful lobby areas, wonderful beach location, great gym, nice restaurant mix. However, many things seemed to be a hassle: parking (difficult garage to maneuver, validated ticket didn't always work, lines to pay, $), talking to anyone (always slow lines), room not ready at check-in, hard to drive to with traffic, and sleeping because my room was terribly loud by the elevator shaft (it sounded like airplanes were constantly overhead).” May 7, 2008 by
Taylor from Hayden, CO
“I absolutely loved this hotel. We had a high end mountain view and it was pretty. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and I got the best sleep of my life I think. The location is one of the hotel's best features. Close to anything and everything. The only thing I didn't like was getting to and from the elevators to the room. There is a little shopping mall with little stores that you have to walk through every time to get anywhere.” May 5, 2008 by
Becky from Sandy, UT
“Very attractive, clean, and quality hotel especially for the money.” May 4, 2008 by
Gloria from Louisville, KY
“I have stayed here before and as a single traveler felt safe in the hotel. I also liked that there was a comfortable chair and ottoman in the room.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Jill from Covington, WA
“We loved the room and the view. The lobby was located on the 2nd floor though making it difficult to find. The valet was so busy they couldn't tell us how to find the lobby and it wasn't well marked. I would stay here again though. Right on Waikiki beach.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Salina from Las Vegas, NV
“The hotel was beautiful, concierge was very helpful for suggestions where to eat, and location was perfect.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Henry from Bellevue, WA
“Great location. Hotel has many amenities for convenience. Would recommend to friends.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Geraldine from Lindenhurst, NY
“The hotel was clean and had a nice location. However, we were given a horrible room behind the elevators that made loud noises as it went up and down all day and night. When we complained we were told that is the best they can do in our category and wouldn't move us. Luckily, we didn't spend much time in the room, if we had, it prob. would have ruined the trip.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Ricky from Spanish Fork, UT
“Great hotel, we had a great experience.” Apr 22, 2008 by
David from Vancouver, BC CA
“The hotel was well placed, across the street from Waikiki Beach. Unfortunately we didn't get a wink of sleep due to the extremely loud elevator on the adjoining wall of our room. The staff were not willing to move us and not helpful at all in that manner. It was louder than any other elevator suite I have stayed in in the past. The pool and amenities were incredibly small and far away from any suites. The parking lot was a hazard to any cars parking there. There was literally 6" between the cars parking there. On multiple occasions we had to get in via the passenger side. Get insurance on your car if you intend to park here.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Dick from Saratoga Springs, UT
“The room I had was recently renovated and very nice, but the bathroom was about the size of a small closet and had not been renovated. Parking was $25 (normal for this area) but was across the street in a horrible little garage.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Angelica from Fresno, CA
“We could not have asked for a better hotel at Waikiki. The Hyatt is truly in the center of the action right across the street from the Waikiki Beach with all the surf action. Great for families that want their kids to learn how to surf and feel that they are really in Hawaii. The Hyatt has an amazing classiness about it. Many very wealthy travelers from Japan and very many very expensive exclusive stores that are to die for.” Apr 13, 2008 by
Kathleen from Redondo Beach, CA
“Location was great, right across from the beach and near all the restaurants and shops. Convenient to "The Bus" stops. Takes a while to get places but it's cheap and bus drivers are helpful. Easy to take Roberts Hawaii shuttle bus to and from the airport to the hotels - Road trip ticket $15. Hotel had small refrigerator that was empty so you can buy drinks and milk for cereal at the food pantry. Bring paper bowls, plastic spoons and zip lock bags. ABC stores also have some food and drinks - get the cut up pineapple for snack. Awesome. Buy your pineapple at Costco when you return for $2.99 each versus 3 for $25 at the airport in Hawaii. The beach is great for all ages. There are areas with man made reefs that block some of the waves which is great for kids. Bring your boogie boards and masks - hotel pool will give you beach towels and chairs for the beach. Pool was nothing special but the kids were happy. Easy to get lounge chairs by the pool at 9:30 am versus our experience in Mauai where people saved lounge chairs at 6:30 am. Overall, great trip.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Dan from Shoreline, WA
“Excellent location on Waikiki, close to extensive shopping and very comfortable furnishings.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Phillip from Weirton, WV
“I liked this hotel. The only thing was parking was a little misleading at $25/per night and we heard the elevator go all night long. Other than this the free chairs and towels were great and overall I loved my stay.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Chris from Destin, FL
“Prime location, note that it is not on the beach. The room was on the tired side, air conditioner did not work well. Towels were of a 2 star quality. Parking is $25 per day, $29 per day valet!” Mar 28, 2008 by
Tim from Portland, OR
“Very spacious deluxe rooms. Offer to upgrade to ocean view for $50. Internet was T-Mobile and so free if you have an account or $9.99. Internet was fast and available everywhere. I did not like the road noise even from the 31st floor, and it seemed less that I was in Waikiki. Pool area very, very weak for a resort. That all being said, the beach across the street is best in area for both family and learning to surf. And, it is very central in Waikiki area.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Peter from Tallahassee, FL
“Tower hotel across from the beach, feels like a cross between a law office and an upscale mall. Good service. Far from romantic. Bare, utilitarian rooms most suitable for a roadside motel than an upscale hotel in a resort area.” Mar 21, 2008 by
Mark from Fairfield, CT
“If you want to be in the center of Waikiki action and across the street from the beach, you can't pick a better spot. Than the Hyatt to lay your head at night. But be prepared for a high-rise hotel that's basically built on top of a shopping mall. There are scores of shops on the first three levels, and you have to navigate your way through a maze to reach the room elevators. Other than the constant need to get your bearings, the hotel has everything you need when you're not enjoying the incredible variety of Waikiki shopping and dining options. Rooms were recently renovated in a low-key style and rather non-descript decor. Beds are plush but bathrooms are cramped and still somewhat dated. Spa is top notch, and restaurants are good but not great, particularly given the high tariffs charged. Pool is intimate (read: small) but comfy chaises and attentive service compensate--and don't forget the beach is right across the street. If you want big, sprawling and convenient, this hotel is highly recommended.” Mar 19, 2008 by
Alfred from Sierra Madre, CA
“The Terrace Cafe at this resort is very affordable and over-looks the beach. The breakfast selection is excellent. I highly recommend the Terrace Cafe. The resort offers free chairs and towels for the beach. See the pool-side attendant for daily availability of chairs.” Mar 17, 2008 by
Linda from Oak Lawn, IL
“Overall, the hotel was very nice however, for the money I feel it should be directly on the water. Hotel was very clean, staff extremely friendly, restaurants excellent.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Nami from Collegeville, PA
“Hotel was great; the room was located just next to the elevator (maybe because of the low price?)Noise from the elevator could disturb people in the room, I thought.” Mar 10, 2008 by
Ed from New York, NY
“This hotel probably has one of the best locations in Waikiki Beach.” Feb 26, 2008 by
Lorraine from Toledo, OH
“Great public areas, very attractive open layout, great breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful staff, incredible location, wonderful room, great shops, felt very pampered, loved bathroom amenities.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Shep from Richmond, TX
“I recommend this hotel. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The location was great. The views were great. The rooms are spacious, clean w/ flat screen TV and a large balcony. This hotel definitely earns its stars. I even took time to fill out a comment card to let them know that I was very pleased with my stay.” Feb 16, 2008 by
Glodine from Stockton, CA
“Would be ideal if situated right on the beach but we are spoiled and don't like to have to exit the hotel onto a busy street and walk across to the beach.” Feb 12, 2008 by
Emily from Minnetrista, MN
“The hotel room was beautiful and clean but the lobby felt like I was in a mall and not a hotel.” Feb 12, 2008 by
Myra from Scottsdale, AZ
“Loved the location of the hotel, very nice room, beautiful cascading waterfall, lots of shops, could pick up trolley in front of hotel and go to the mall. I would definitely stay there again.” Feb 9, 2008 by
Jennifer from Rocky River, OH
“The rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. Good location on Waikiki Beach. Rooms located by elevators are very loud. City views are not ideal. The lobby is open and has a beautiful waterfall. Contains many stores on site. Front desk staff was exceptionally helpful. Self check-in kiosks were convenient. Valet parking vs. self-parking were not well labeled on signs - I drove into valet parking when we arrived thinking it was the main entrance only to be yelled at by a valet. The pool is extremely small for a hotel with 1200 rooms.” Feb 8, 2008 by
W from Elmsford, NY
“Very nice, clean, friendly, in the center of everything but not on the beach.” Feb 3, 2008 by
Andrea from Santa Cruz, CA
“Hotel rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was very friendly. A lot of shops made it convenient but also made it quite a trip just to get from the beach to your room and/or pool. Lovely place though. Would definitely come back again!” Feb 2, 2008 by
Roxanne from St Albert, AB CA
“We were very impressed with the Hyatt Regency Waikiki from the initial contact before we arrived until we left. After a not so great timeshare experience we were so happy to open the door to our very comfortable room. The freshness of the room itself to the great bed, furnishings, flat screen TV, linens and toiletries were indeed welcoming. I'm not sure wheather the Hyatt has a particularly good Human Resources department or inservice program but all the staff we encountered had near genius level social skills (hope that doesn't sound too flowery). Reception, housekeeping, pool attendants, security, shop keepers, musicians---I could go on, were at all times pleasant and seemed to anticipate our needs before we did. I don't know what "IT" is that the Hyatt has but it has it.” Jan 31, 2008 by
Nishant from New York, NY
“From in room amenities as dazzling as ihome speakers/alarm clocks for your ipod and flat screen TV's to on premise facilities including several high end stores, two of Honolulu's great restaurants and a nice gym, the Hyatt Regency is one of the most convenient four star deluxe hotels in the city. At the center of the Waikiki's Ala Moana BLVD., Tiffany's, Louis Vuitton and Gucci stores are as close as McDonald's or Hawaii's version of the 7-11: ABC Stores. Not the place for those looking to be pampered and alone (lots of families and guests in general stay at this twin tower mega-hotel). But for a grand hotel with gorgeous facilities in and out of room, the Hyatt is one of the premier four star hotel choices.” Jan 30, 2008 by
Angela from Santa Maria, CA
“Great location to walk all around Waikiki or walk up to Diamond Head. Nice pool area or the beach right across the street. Upgraded to an awesome ocean view. Everything you need as far as shopping and food!” Jan 29, 2008 by
Keith from Riverton, UT
“They upgraded our room to ocean view at no cost and without us even asking. We had a beautiful view of the beach and it was close to lots of restaurants and other shopping. The room was clean, nice, and modern. The bed was very comfortable. Had a balcony which was wonderful. I felt it was a very good value for the price.” Jan 27, 2008 by
Susan from Irvine, CA
“I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff was always friendly, welcoming, and responsive. The location of the hotel is great - right across the street from a very nice and accessible part of Waikiki Beach and a substation of the Honolulu police, which made me feel safe if I was alone on the street near the hotel. The "feel" of the hotel is very nice - very much a resort, even though there were not extensive outdoor grounds to walk or play in. I would stay here again and again. The parking garage is tight, so do rent a smaller vehicle, if possible. However, the hotel has well-placed mirrors at the turns to make the ascending and descending safer, and thus easier on the nerves.” Jan 25, 2008 by
Lance from Signal Hill, CA
“Stayed at the Hyatt regency for 5 days, 4 nights. The hotel was in a great location in Waikiki, across the beach, and the staff was terrific, very friendly and helpful (especially the pool staff). Decent size gym with great restaurants, bit pricey. Walking distance to everything, beach, shops, eateries. Great hotel.” Jan 22, 2008 by
Stephanie from Archie, MO
“Nice hotel that is in a great location.” Jan 21, 2008 by
Adam from Oakville, ON CA
“Older styled hotel very clean with helpful staff. Late check-out not easily accommodated. Small pool. Near to many amenities.” Jan 20, 2008 by
Ian from Victoria, BC CA
“While Waikiki beach and Honolulu have modernized with the times, the Hyatt Regency seems to be in a time warp. The bathrooms are almost museum-quality in their antiquity. The positives outweigh the negatives though. The staff was great, there was a nice plasma-screen TV in the room, the beds were very comfortable with quality linens, and all other facilities were in line with what you would expect from the Hyatt. The one and only service glitch came from the maitre d' service at the restaurant on the 3rd floor. Entering at 9am, with at least 20 open tables, I would expect to be seated immediately and offered a beverage while awaiting service. However, the attitude was "what's your name and room number?” Jan 18, 2008 by
Melinda from Scottsdale, AZ
“Excellent hotel, beautiful, convenient to Waikiki Beach and shopping, service exceptional! My mom and I got upgraded to an oceanfront room on the 8th floor with an unforgettable view of the beach. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Will definitely come back! Absolutely no complaints!” Jan 15, 2008 by
Joe from Osage, OK
“Outstanding service and rooms. Great value for the money and staff is eager to please.” Jan 12, 2008 by
Alberta from Aiea, HI
“We recommend this hotel for any future anniversary or just a getaway. The location finds you across from Waikiki's favorite beach, and a wonderful walk on some of the safest streets of Oahu. A vacation getaway for the young and young at heart.” Dec 23, 2007 by
Sara from San Francisco, CA
“Our overall stay at the Hyatt Waikiki Beach Resort was a great experience. We had a fabulous time. The spa was very clean, professional, and relaxing experience. We would highly recommend staying here to our friends/family and are considering another visit in a few months.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Omar from Cary, NC
“Staff was helpful. We only went to one restaurant and that was Mushai (unsure of spelling, it was the Japanese restaurant) and I can honestly say that this was the best sushi I had in all my life, the service was impeccable, and the lava flow was to die for. The hotel was right on Waikiki. And the staff was all very helpful. The only hard thing to take was the 25$ valet price. But it does cost a lot to park in Waikiki any way. It was money well spent.” Hotel Representatives:
