• Very expensive for food and activities.

• The setting, right on beach, cleanliness, friendly, tropical.
• We were told continental breakfast included. But wasn't. It was an additional expense I hadn't planned.

“Hotel setting is beautiful. Due to my daughter (who lives in Oahu) going into false labor the first 3 days of our stay and finally delivered on the 16th, we didn't get to utilize the grounds as we had hoped. Will definitely return, but will need more clarification on things such as the breakfast issue. They (Hilton) informed me that if I book thru you, that they do not get paid enough to include the breakfast. I know I did see on your options for booking a continental breakfast included, but they (the manager) stated you do not offer that either, it was the same price. It was frustrating as I had to pay and additional 14.95 per person for breakfast. They said if I can find it on your pricing options that they would reimburse me. Anyway, that was the only prob. All else went well.”

• Great location, great resort, lots to do and see.
• $25 parking had to work for a lounge chair by the pool.

• Location, location, location----terrific.
• Food on the premises was too overpriced.

“The Hilton Hawaiian village was right on the beach and the service was excellent. The pool was great, the rooms were nice and clean, and it was in close proximity for shopping! The only drawback was that the food for a family of 5 was expensive when eating at the hotel.”

• Was stuck in the elevator for 2 hours and was compensated with a bottle of water.

• Staff was friendly. It was relaxing even though I was there on business.
• The food was mediocre for most of the things that I tried at the hotel.

“Liked the hotel would go back. Had a great price for the stay and esp. for the location. Everything was great with the exception of the food. The food was hit or miss.”

• The beach is big, water is calm, pools are clean and the rooms are awesome!
• The food in the hotel restaurants could be better.

“We love this hotel and will absolutely return as soon as possible. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were quiet and large. We slept a lot, swam and generally relaxed more than a very long time. Thanks!”

• Room and deck, comfortable bed.
• Loud door slamming.

“Only drawback - In Tapa Tower the all the hallway doors SLAM! each time someone enters or leaves a room. Very loud even down the hall. Awakened throughout the night with people coming and going on my hallway. Also thin walls. However, room itself large, attractive, great bedding and wonderful deck. Just don't plan on quiet space.”

• It was an island in itself could spend your whole vacation at the hotel.
• Can't say one bad word.

“If u want to experience the best of Hawaii stay at the Hilton. There isn't a better hotel on the islands. The staff is wonderful, the entire place is actually a town in itself. Beautiful. I would go back just to see the penguins.”

• Great rooms, and support facility, best location on Waikiki Beach.
• Nice pools, but got very crowded.

“Hotel is outstanding. Located on one end of Waikiki Beach so it was almost like the hotel had its own large, private beach (most hotels on Waikiki are lucky to have only a very small crowded sliver of beach in front of hotel. Hotel is very well kept and everything you need is within the "Hotel Village" so you never need to leave, but if you want to explore the rest of Oahu, the hotel is centrally located. I highly recommend this hotel.”

• Nice grounds, good location.
• Jack hammer right above our room due to remodeling.

“This hotel stay was a very bad experience! While the hotel grounds were nice, they should NEVER be renting out hotel rooms just below the floor where major re-modeling is occurring. The jack hammers starting at 7:30am in the floor just above us is not acceptable in a resort property! The hotel did try to help by giving a $100 discount but they should have NEVER rented these rooms in the first place!! Hotel mgmt. stated they must rent these room to meet high demand. So, expect to hear more complaints from others in the future until hotel renovations are completed.”

• The parking garage attendant and the long wait to get out of the garage.

“Overall, we had were pleased with the hotel and room. We had to wait a while to check in, but we ended up with a lovely room with an ocean view. We were in a hurry to check in since we had a party to attend, and they offered us a hospitality suite where we could get ready. They were running about an hour behind normal check in time. We loved how convenient access was to the parking garage, but the parking garage attendant was the only bad part of the stay. When we checked in, we told the staff that we were parking a car and the woman checking us in told us the most convenient place to enter the garage since there was construction. We were able to enter the garage but when we were ready to leave for our party, the attendant told us that the parking charge was not on our room and demanded that we pay him directly. He accused us of lying about the car! Later, when we got back to the hotel, we went back to the front desk and they straightened everything out. The hotel grounds were beautiful. The pool was always very crowded and we never found a place to sit there. We ended up going to the beach and paying $25 for chairs. The beach was nice. We did not eat or drink at the hotel (except for overpriced morning coffee). There were many nice touches like juice while you're waiting to check in, the koi and penguins, and a pretty clean place. Our room was pretty big with great views. We would stay here again since the rest of the staff made up for the angry parking guy.”

• The hotel has all the facilities such as shopping center, beach, convenient store. It's very convenient to stay there
• The staff is not nice. Specially they don't clean the room well.

• It was the best/most fabulous resort I have ever visited with great amenities. Location, quality, service, atmosphere, appearance.
• Food was expensive, but expensive everywhere.

“This hotel was beyond my expectations and provided us with an experience that we will talk about for years to come. It was beautiful, in a prime location with a beautiful beach and the best service I've ever received. I did not want to leave.”

• The setting and atmosphere was incredible. Very tropical.
• The rooms are very loud. You can hear your neighbors.

“Very nice and enjoyable. The staff was fantastic and always helpful. The resort has everything that you could want or need and is basically set up so that you do not have to leave. We dined, shopped and spent the majority of our time at the resort, Hertz car rental is even set up on property. As a guest, everything we wanted or needed was very accessible and easy to get to. Great experience.”

• Right on the beach, never have to leave the complex.
• Generally expensive, best rooms in the rainbow tower.

• Everything you need is located in the resort.
• A little far away from the center of Waikiki beach.

“The hotel grounds are beautiful and the resort provides everything you need in the way of shops, restaurants. The hotel is located at the end of the beach. So, while it is closer to Moa Lana Shopping Center, it is further from the center of the action on Waikiki Beach. Some folks might consider that a positive, I suppose. The hotel was crowded and I suspect it feels like that most of the time. The valet system was easily overwhelmed. For some odd reason, you cannot call down from your room for your car.”

• It's a wonderful beach front hotel. We were given a great upgrade of beach front room and after check out were also provided with a hospitality room
• Nothing.

“Hilton Hawaiian Village is a wonderful beach front hotel located right on Waikiki beach. We were given a great upgrade of beach front room upon request. On the day after we checked out, we needed a place for shower after relaxing at the beach since our flight was only in the evening. The hotel provided us with a hospitality room to be able to shower and change. Overall we loved this hotel and highly recommend it.”

• Location was tranquil, surrounded by natural beauty.
• Elevators very slow in Rainbow Tower. Waited as long as five minutes.

“Accommodations were terrific and the setting beautiful. Food was very pricey. $15-20 for a continental breakfast. We stored milk and fruit in refrigerator, bought cereal, and ate breakfast on our own balcony. A far better deal.”

• Location, beautiful beach, large separate shower, hospitality room to shower and change after we checked out of room and shopping.
• Rental cost for beach equipment (umbrella, lounge chair) very high.

“We were very disappointed that we experienced a number of problems with things in our room in the 4 star Hotel things that did not work such as iron, key to beverage cabinet, light on night stand, safe, toilet continuously ran, took forever to get hot water in shower, maid did not clean room very well.”

• The hotel was beautiful and the village had great stores.
• The pools closed early.

“The room had an ocean view, the beach was steps away, the beds were very comfortable, several restaurants located on the grounds with a variety of choices, everything was clean and tidy, the staff were very helpful and the hotel had a children's program. I've already recommended this place to several friends.”

• Great resort lots of fun very busy.
• Some prices were very high like $1.00 per local phone call.

“This is a wonderful hotel and we had a great time the only thing I would like is if everything was not ala cart but you are in high so I can expect to pay for what you want. This was our first time there and the staff put us in a wonderful room and took very good care of us I put a 9 for this only because there was so many people that you did not get to know anyone oh well when everyone is being nice too you.”

• Friendly , helpful staff. Wheelchair assistance availability a lifesaver for broken foot accident.
• Bathroom cleaning not always thorough-dirty mirror, tub

“A very pleasant resort. Lot's of activities to keep all ages and interests happy. Enjoyed the small and comprehensive Bishop Museum on site. Pool and beach areas so nice. Can't beat the FREE show and fireworks on Friday nites. A great value for the price paid.”

• Our room was newly renovated and looked out directly on the ocean.
• This hotel is very large and very busy.

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. There are lovely grounds and many shops around the village. Our room in the Kalia Tower was beautiful and had a wonderful view of the ocean. The hotel is on the quieter end of Waikiki which is nice.”

• The staff was extremely helpful and friendly
• The price of food was through the ROOF!!!

“The hotel (rooms) and grounds were beautiful and truly tranquil. The amenities were abound. You could pull up a chair at the pool or on the beach and bask in the Hawaiian sun and relax. Shopping surrounded you at all the local shops, yet the prices were very high as was the food within the village. Still the hotel in itself was great.”

• Bellman yelled at me and was extremely agressive and rude.

“This hotel is so big that the check-in process is long and confusing. A park attendant yelled at me to move my car and when asked to talk to a manager he told me "go get him yourself". I tried to get information about diving and it seemed very difficult to find someone with enough knowledge on the area, finally the diving shop I was referred to by the hotel turned out to be a person operating tours out of a van and was completely reckless about safety issues (I got affected by de-compression sickness). When asked about directions or places to visit, concierges were more interested in keeping me to "shop and stay" within the hotel complex and most of the time they were wrong about driving times, distances and operating hours. My overall experience was less than satisfactory, I would not recommend this hotel unless the price was considerably less.”

• expensive drinks and food

“Located at the end of the strip" on Waikiki, this hotel has much to see in each many shops.
Its at the end of the beach near the marina which offers some advantages and disadvantages. The food and drinks are a bit pricy but it is not cheap to stay in Hawaii anywhere. We rec'vd an upgrade for our honeymoon and we quite pleased with our suite. I highly recommend a high floor in the rainbow or ail towers."”

“Great for families, business, or couples. The location, our room, the view, amenities, and services were great. The concierge were great for local surf spots and basic eating places, but not helpful for fine dining suggestions off of the hotel properties...our 'local' doorman was the best for that. The main pool chairs are taken by 9:30am, so if you want to hang out there, get there early. It would be good to know that the lounge chairs for the beach are $12 each, and another $15 for an umbrella (worth it if you want to spend a day there, and not get crispy). Can't wait to return with the kids!”
