“Helpful and friendly staff. They gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne for our honeymoon. The room was nice, but the surroundings were not up to par on the garden side. The building needed painting, new woodwork, new tile, and the garden pool was dirty. The ocean pool is small for a resort that size.” Aug 2, 2009 by
Don from Miami Lakes,FL
“Old rooms, at least the one we received. Lack of electrical outlets for PC - had to unplug the lamp to gain one outlet. A foot stool served as the chair for the Jun 28, 2009 by

“Spent only 1 night here and wished we could stay longer. While in the pool watch out for children crossing in the multitudes to use the slide. The spa area could definitely use an upgrade. Oceanview rooms are worth the extra $.” Jun 16, 2009 by
Kim from Thornton,CO
“Our first trip to Hawaii, we island hopped, and saved Kauai for last. I got a good deal on Priceline for the Sheraton. We were back in the garden area, which was fine, it was very quiet. The rooms were large, well appointed, the staff was helpful, the grounds were gorgeous, and the pool and beach areas were great. Poipu public beach adjoins the property. The biggest negative we had was that our room smelled funny. I know, it's the islands, but none of our other hotels smelled weird, like a grapefruit rotted in there and they couldn't quite get the smell out. It wasn't terrible, but for an expensive resort, it was unexpected. Free parking is on the side of the resort, and the lagoon area buildings are set across the street from the oceanfront buildings, so you may have a bit of a walk to get around. Free lobby computers. The food, and every other little thing, is resort priced.” Apr 19, 2009 by

“The Sheraton is beautiful and in a good location. Rooms are modern and spotless with nice facilities, including internet, refrigerator, and lanais. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. There is a lot of parking in different areas so there is not a long walk to your car. I did not eat at any of the restaurants. The beachfront and pool are very small, but the beach water looked calm for swimming, which is not always the case in Kauai and is a big plus for families. The gym was very small with only 2 of each cardio machine - I would expect more for such a large hotel.” Mar 18, 2009 by

“The beach has to be the main attraction. We had a garden view room. The rooms were clean, and the bed very comfortable. Rooms are small and a little walking distance to the beach. My wife and I could eat for half price at the breakfast buffet by passing on the daily room cleaning. The staff was very friendly, and offered us a free bottle of champagne for our anniversary.” Sep 13, 2008 by

“Beautiful! Great pools and amazing views. Expensive but worth it.” Jan 13, 2008 by

“This hotel has a great location and a lot of great features like a fitness room and several restaurants with beautiful views. However, the restaurant food was average and totally overpriced. Tropical drinks were $9.50 here, but a max of $7 everywhere else. There's a lot of potential with the location and everything, but they just need to get their act together. Throughout the resort, little things like table umbrellas, walkway tiles, or bathroom sinks were slightly broken. It just seems like they don't really have an eye for detail. The location and the fact that we got a great deal made those little things pretty easy to overlook, but I would have been disappointed if I was one of the guests who stayed there for full price. The power went out 2 xs in one day -at 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. (the two times of day when people are likely getting ready). In the evening, we went down to the front desk to ask when they thought it would be turned back on and they took down our room number. This was a very nice surprise since we didn't have to turn into crazed lunatics to be compensated for the inconvenience.” Dec 22, 2007 by

“Easy to get around with lots of shortcuts.” Dec 8, 2007 by
Randall from Victoria, BC CA
“Great ocean views. In December it may always be very windy. The beach is good for boogie boarding, but unprotected so too strong to swim around. It is a timeshare and so they do attempt to get you involved. Rooms are great, and it is a long walk to some areas of the hotel. I enjoyed it but would not rave over it.” May 2, 2007 by
Josephine from Aventura, FL
“The hotel was incredible and they made my husband and I feel like royalty. There were plenty of on promise activities (especially at night when everything is closed in Kauai) to entertain us. The room was very clean and had a beautiful garden view. The staff was a friendly and helpful as I have ever experienced. I would definitely return to this hotel over any other on Kauai and will recommend it to everyone I know. ” Apr 2, 2007 by

“This hotel is great it is in a great location, it is clean and they really take care of you.” Jan 10, 2007 by
Sobania from Fort Belvoir, VA
“My stay here was really disappointing. The rooms looked old and dingy, the bathroom was so small, there was fluorescent lighting, the TV was so small--it just didn¿t look like a nice resort hotel room should look. On top of that, they charge you resort fee, but you cannot even print one page from their printer, there are only 3 computers to check email with so there's always a long line, the lady checking us in was not nice or friendly and the waiter at the restaurant was not attentive. Oh, and they do not greet you with a lei, like they do at the Hyatt. I was greatly disappointed--I could have stayed at a motel if I wanted this kind of room/treatment. but instead, I paid hundreds of dollars more to stay at the Sheraton for no good reason.” Oct 28, 2006 by
Michael from Westlake Village, CA
“As long as you have not been exposed to the Hyatt Grand Regency, you will find this hotel acceptable. A street runs between the ocean front and garden view rooms, thereby dividing the "resort" in half. The resort fee includes a nice buffet breakfast each morning.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 26, 2006 by

“Sheraton Kauai was the prefect place to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary!” Aug 22, 2006 by

“Although No. 14 points out the deficiencies that I noticed, I would return to the Sheraton in Kauai. A great location for chartered activities.” Aug 5, 2006 by
Petra from Concord, CA
“The Sheraton location is very nice. The beach and ocean views are beautiful. The ocean front wings are much nicer than the garden wings in the back of the hotel. The rooms in garden wing are very small. The pools and restaurants need new furniture and updating. Overall, the hotel quality does not match the great location.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 16, 2006 by

“The price I paid did not include a mandatory $26/day amenities fee (free breakfast) that was added on to my bill. The rooms were dirty, mildew on the shower curtain and in the tile. The air conditioner was so noisy that we had to shut it off at night. The air conditioner cover was broken off. Elevator was broken in our section. You could hear other guests use the bathroom - loud enough to wake you up. Grounds were very nice and well maintained. Breakfast buffet was very good.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.May 4, 2006 by

“We should stay there next year when it gets a remodel. I hope their prices don't increase too much.” May 4, 2006 by

“Staff was very friendly, beautiful lobby/courtyard area & gardens, nice beach & pool easily accessible to each other.” Apr 11, 2006 by

“Beautiful hotel, amazing views, very courteous staff. We loved it! ” Apr 4, 2006 by

“We have been to the Sheraton twice and have reservations to come back. It has the best location on the island! It is definitely worth paying a little more for an ocean front room. The staff is friendly and helpful. The daily breakfast buffet is a bountiful feast and the free Mai Tai hor at sunset is very enjoyable. ” Apr 3, 2006 by
Suellen L. from Washington, DC
“The hotel is at a beautiful location on the beach. However, the rooms and other facilities are severely rundown and badly in need of renovation. Impression is that the management is trying to squeeze every last bit of profit out of the hotel and there is little concern about guest comfort. ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 13, 2006 by

“Old hotel, rooms looked it, in a beautiful spot. Internet did not work for our entire stay, received 4:30am wake up call that I didn't order, water pressure was low and fixture was old.” Feb 28, 2006 by
Dorene from Carmichael, CA
“If you stay in the ocean wing it is beautiful. Full ocean view very close to the beach. Staff are very helpful. The only criticism was the food. Buffet was horrible and food at other restaurants was expensive and poor quality.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 24, 2005 by

“The site is located in a beautiful location but trying to find it at night was a little difficult. The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful and checking in and out was very efficient.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
