“The Hotel has a swish downstairs and a very good restaurant. The rooms are all different sizes, and I got a small one, but it was warm and comfortable and had everything.”

Jolly Hotel St. Ermin's “Great character old hotel that has obviously been recently renovated (at least our room). The front desk staff was helpful, we had several requests and they were met immediately by staff members. Great value for the rates we paid - we could easily have paid double in London for similar (or lessor) accommodations.”

“Nice place with good but quite small standard rooms. It is not a 5-star property though, as Priceline claimed it was. Good location.”

“Not one of the nicer Hilton's that I have stayed at, it was nevertheless acceptable and in a reasonable location away from center city. The mattress and bed were in poor shape but the room was otherwise comfortable, despite its small size. This was the smallest of the four rooms I stayed in in London and Paris.”

“The location of this hotel is great. Very close to the underground and walking distance to Piccadilly. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable. It is well worth the money.”

“Hotel is located 3-4 minutes walking distance from Olympia subway station which makes it very easy to travel throughout the city. The rooms are spacious with all the amenities.”

Holiday Inn Kensington Forum “The bed was horrible, you could feel every coil. The room was tiny. The room had a bad odor. The TV was a 14" and they advertised flat panel TV's in the rooms.”

“The hotel was very nice and in a good safe area. A block from the Tube. Had a little grocery store between tube and hotel which helped save some expense too. Friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Rooms were big! Loved it. As far as the phone thing and using the toll free number. When asking the staff about using the card they did tell me it would be a pound and half per connection but neglected to tell me to use the toll free number, so you can imagine my surprise upon checkout the phone fees I still had to pay. But other than that all was perfect.”

“I was traveling on business for 10 nights with a club room reserved. After an 11 hour flight from the states, I arrived at the hotel at 10 am. I was told rooms were not available until the official 3 pm check in time. However, if I paid 30 pounds, a room would magically become available for immediate check in. The front desk would not budge on this - either pay now or wait 5 hours. This is the third time I stayed at this hotel this year. I did not encounter this issue previously. If this is how this hotel is going to treat its business travelers, I'll choose to go elsewhere next time. This is a very poor business model in order to try to generate more revenue. They may have gotten 30 pounds out of me now, but for my next 10 night trip to London in January (and every quarter) , they aren't getting my business.”

“This is small hotel in the heart of London with wonderful and helpful staff. It is like from home to home and can be recommended as the room rates are real value for value.”

“The room was quiet and clean with appropriate amenities such as small refrigerator, and enough room for a small table and chairs. With more people having i phones and the like, a hotel of this type should offer free Wi-Fi at lease in the lobby or bar. Having to use computers that are L1 per 10 minutes is just a way of nickel and dime for the guests.”

“This is a hotel that is safe and clean. It is in a really great location. Near some decent restaurants and 3 in walk from the High Street Kensington tube station. The only drawback is the outdated furnishings, but this is minor. I would recommend this hotel, especially for the price.”

“This hotel is a short walk from the Kilburn Park Underground Station. Lobby area is standard Marriott fare, while it seems the rooms have not yet made the Marriott renovation list. They were clean but a bit worn and the bathroom needed some repairs to tile and such. However, it was a good place to rest your head for the night and get around the town easily on the Tube.”

“I found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was clean as well as the overall appearance of the hotel. The hotel was only about a half mile from the underground with plenty of small coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The only complaint is the hotel charges 15 GBP per day for the use of the internet! If your a sports fan of American sports, I would suggest the sports cafe in Piccadilly Square.”

“This hotel is very convenient for travel from Gatwick Airport. Other than that, it is in dire need of renovations. We found the room shabby and the bed very uncomfortable. The public spaces were cramped and shabby as well. We were very disappointed in the hotel. It was a down ending to a lovely trip.”

“Reasonable hotel for the leisure traveler, but far away from a 4-star hotel, simple accommodation, mini bar was not working, hotel bar was OK, and the shower was very low.”

“Definitely not a 4 star hotel; more like 2 stars. Not terribly clean. Everything in the room looked very old and worn. Overall a depressing place to stay.”

“The room was located in the older, dingy tower, not at all impressive. The room lacked plugs for charging travel appliances, and although clean enough, the room was very worn and tired. If this had been marketed as a good budget option, I would have expected less, and been less disappointed.”

“Towels are no better than at a budget, 2* hotel. Restaurant now closed except for breakfast, the price of which (despite recession) has gone up from $28 to nearly $30. There's no concierge, no bellman and beds are very Travelodge. Bare utilitarian bedrooms. Difficult to adjust AC and water flow in bath/shower as latter's knob is almost unmovable. Don't pretend to us this is four star, please!”

“The hotel forgot my wake up call! Never mind that they represented themselves as a 4 star (maybe 20 years ago it was), but now it is at best a 2 star, but any flea bitten motel even makes wake up calls! This one didn't and they didn't even apologize for it. The hallways smelled like turpentine and the bathroom in my room smelled like mold. They covered the bathroom walls with plastic panels to make it look new, but it was very plain to see and smell that it wasn't very fresh or clean!”

“It was located at a lovely location, 5 minutes walk to the nearest subway and Hyde Park. The staff was very helpful, cost was brilliant and I definitely recommend this place. I was there for a conference and sight seeing. Being a student, needed a comfortable and affordable place. This place was the exact match I was looking for. They also helped me keep my luggage for the day I was not paying for! The hotel may seem very tight but that is what they could build out of the small houses in London. A double room was more than sufficient.”

“The lobby and restaurants are nicely maintained, they forgot about the rooms. The bathroom had obviously been flooded, but rather than fix the problem they covered up the moldy walls with paneling - but I could very plainly still smell the mold in the room! One night we ran out of toilet paper and the staff didn't seem to think that it was a problem! How hard is it to see that the roll is running out and leave an extra roll in the bathroom? An investigation into why I ran out of toilet paper does not help the situation!”
