• It was on the beach. and was so clean.

• I really liked the pool/lounging area, the access to the beach, and the decor of the room.
• Very noisy (construction every day at 8a.m., children crying, late - late night parties at pool, carts down hallway on first floor the worse!

“I truly enjoyed the location, right by the wharf, boardwalk, and beach. Although the first floor access, walking right out to the pool was a nice feature, because we could not lock the sliding door from outside and much noise with the tile floors and carts at 7a.m. every morning, I cannot recommend it. Due to the only hotel on the beach, and the fact that the staff was extremely nice and customer oriented, will probably come back, but really don't think that it is worth the cost.”

• Love the cliff location, and the funky decor.
• I didn't like it when the security guard questioned me as I walked by as though I were trespassing. He didn't like it when I swore at him!

“It was great--cool location looking over the ocean. The staff was wonderful--friendly and helpful. Loved the art deco (I think that's what it's called) decorations--funky colors. Beds were fabulous! Having traveled a bit, I'd say this hotel is a bit overpriced, but I'm sure that's location and season driven. I loved it.”

• Valet only parking was annoying.

• All rooms have a view of the bay and pier.
• The bathrooms could be larger.

“Clean, middle aged hotel, has a great location in Santa Cruz being next to the beach and a awesome view of the bay.”

• It was right on the water!

“It was a very nice hotel. Go out the front door and take a left and take a nice walk down West Cliff Drive, just beautiful. Take a right and walk to the Pier and/or the Boardwalk. Plus, every room had an ocean view and a balcony looking out over the ocean. It was very pleasant to hear the waves crash on shore as I went to sleep.”
