  • The casinos were beautiful and very enjoyable
  • The staff at the front desk were careless and charged me for a second room that I did not ask for

“This is a beautiful hotel with a huge, attractive casino that is very clean. It was the best casino in Atlantic City. My only problem is that when I checked out, the woman at the front desk was careless and charged me for the room even though I already booked through Priceline and was charged by Priceline. I am waiting for Priceline to handle this situation.”

  • The staff at the hotel was amazing. Just very friendly people and amazingly helpful.
  • Many featured amenities had an extra fee tacked on.

“The Taj Mahal was kind of a mixed bag. We stayed in the chairman's tower and the room was very nice. The bed, the view, and especially the bathroom were very nice and very modern. I also found the staff to be extremely helpful and very pleasant, especially the woman who checked us in, who went above and beyond the call of duty to let us know about what was going on in Atlantic City. However, there were a few downsides. Several of the featured amenities at the hotel were only available for an extra fee. My wife and I wanted to use the fitness room. The fitness room was only available for free for one hour early in the morning. After that, you had to pay $20 a person, kind of steep when you consider that most gym memberships are around $30 a month. And very disappointing when you consider that the fitness center was advertised as a feature of the hotel. Also, the room said it came with wireless internet, but you had to pay an outside company $13 for 24/hr access. Again, a very steep fee for something that is often free at hotels at this price level. The food and drinks were good at the hotel. Not spectacular, but better than average. But again, the price mark up was very steep, even compared to nearby casinos, like the Showboat. Drinking at the Ego Bar will set you back a little bit. All in all, I was very happy with the Taj Mahal, but would have a few reservations about going back.”

  • Mattress was outstandingly comfortable.
  • Too far from parking garage to front desk.
