“The lobby was very nice and the staff, but the room had wet carpet, no screen in the window that opened fully on the 12th floor, very dangerous. The toilet had chipping paint and the rest of the bathroom was small and crusty. There were two twin beds for my husband and I and they were very uncomfortable and had no bed spread on them. The room was very small and had no microwave or refrigerator. Very dissapointing.”

“Traveled to area for Michael Jackson memorial service at Staples. Staff took care of minor problems promptly and efficiently. The appearance of the property exceeded my expectations for the star rating it has. Hotel is within easy walking distance of Staples, and parking in their garage saved considerable expense. In the crush of media interest and excitement around the Jackson event, this was a quiet refuge. Will definitely book here for future trips to LA.”

“Love this hotel. I will stay here whenever I get the chance- this was my second stay. The first time, my only complaint was the housekeeping - had no trouble this time.”

“The place looks much better on the inside than it does on the outside; high ceiling, marble floors and lots of wood in the lobby. The room was fairly small, just big enough to hold two queen-sized beds and an entertainment center. The hotel restaurant is a tourist trap, with a limited menu and high prices, and it took the kitchen staff a half hour to cook a hamburger, even with the seating area almost empty. The gift shop looks like someone's closet, with piles of items stacked haphazardly in the small room; clearly the owner has too much merchandise and not enough space to display it. And the in-room wireless Internet connection has a habit of dropping out without warning, something that's very frustrating if you're trying to get some work done. On the positive side, the staff was helpful and responsive, the lobby area has an old-world look and feel to it that was attractive, and you can get the best tacos you ever ate at a lunch truck that parks a block down the street every day. To sum up, the Mayfair is a place you visit only if it's closest to your destination. I expected more for the price that I paid.”

“Everything in room is small. 1/2 bathtub/shower is a safety hazard and almost slipped & fell not knowing the tub/shower sloped down.” Hotel Representatives:
