• Located in a very quiet area.
• Toilet did not work properly.

“Overall, it was decent place to stay. Room was clean and quiet. Nice TV. Staff was very friendly. Toilet did not flush properly. I had to remove lid and play with parts inside to get it to work. Also, the knob on the deadbolt came off.”

• Wallpaper was falling off.

“I would not recommend this hotel. Not very friendly. Not very clean. Wallpaper was falling off in several places. Not very well kept. Charges extra for parking and continental breakfast.”

• They charge 10.00 for parking and 5.00 each for the
  breakfast.

“It was very noisy at night. There wasn't ice in the machine. There was bug in the room. There was bad smell in the room.”

• It was quiet.
• Check in took at least 25 minutes and it made me late for a birthday party for my 1 year old niece.

“Not a good hotel, not very clean or comfortable. The ten dollars they charge for parking should not apply.”

“Located close to all of tourist sites in Springfield, IL, the Mansion View Inn & Suites offered convenient, if modest, accommodations meeting the basic needs of the leisure traveler.”

• Very clean and quiet.
• Charged extra for continental breakfast and parking even though the hotel flyer indicated free for both.

“There appeared to be very few guests when we were though, so it was very quiet. Upon check in, we were told it was an extra $5 for parking and $5 each for the continental breakfast so we declined both. The elevator had a horrible smell, but the rooms themselves were very clean and comfortable. I was a little ticked that we were charged extra for the things that appear to be free for regular guests, but otherwise it was an OK place.”

• The lobby and the courtyard setting.
• Room amenities could be better. (linens, etc.)

• Friendly staff.
• Location, next to train track, security issue.

“The room was suppose to be a non-smoking room but the bedding, carpet,everything smelled like smoking room and the carpet/floor was very sticky. Older, had drainage and leakage issue. Smelled very smoky and musty. Lack of safety issues. Would not recommend a long stay or if you have young children.”

• Right next to train tracks so was noisy.

“Great hotel and I would recommend it if it were not for the train tracks. Staff was very helpful and courteous.”

• Continental breakfast was the best ever.
• No internet in the rooms.

“Good clean hotel. Although it is older, it was excellent for those wanting to stay in downtown. I would definitely stay there again. Manager said wireless internet would be in the rooms soon although the lobby has wireless. Better service than most newer hotels as this one is owned locally and the people seem to care.”

• It was a place to sleep.
• There was nothing for the kids. All doors open to outside.

“This hotel is good for sleeping. All doors open to the parking lot. The TV's have no RCA jacks for kids video games. The wireless internet did not work. According to the staff the wireless internet often did not work. The staff was friendly, but young and inexperienced. There was no breakfast. And no restaurant within walking distance considering the weather.”
