“The hotel rooms were nice; the location was close to the convention center. They were in the middle of a remodel so only had one elevator. There is a night club behind hotel so Friday & Saturday nights hard to sleep with the loud music playing and people yelling until after 3:00AM Wait staff was a little slow.”

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone. When we arrived we were told valet parking was $20 for the stay. It ended up being $20 per day. Valet said they leave the keys in the vehicle and they did. I was able to excess my vehicle whenever I wanted and probably could of excess anyone else’s. The room we were supposed to stay in had a problem with the A.C. Called quest services; they said they would send someone up to take a look at it. They called 5 minutes later to say that there maintenance person was having a problem with that room. They then moved us from this room that had a king size bed and pull out with a view of the river to a room with 2 double beds, no view, and were not near the size of the first room. I think we were put in the first room intentionally because as I was walking away I over heard the front desk attendant tell another attendant the price we paid on the room. Anyway, called guest services again to find out where the ice vending machine was. They said floors 6 and 8. Went to floor 8, vending machine not working, went to floor 6 and got ice. Next day we had breakfast in their restaurant. Again, air conditioning problems. Very uncomfortable not to mention the poor service we received from the waitress. Had to give bill to the hostesses to take up, said she would find her. 10 minutes later the waitress brought us our change.”

“Our room didn't have individual AC control so it was really hot in the room. The bathroom was too small. There was a club across the street that played loud music until 2 am that we could hear in our room on the 19th floor. Only one elevator worked. We had to search the hotel for a working ice machine. The bed was comfortable and the decor was nice. In the daytime the hotel seemed to be in an ok area with access to the people mover just 1 block away, but at night that one block seemed to be an unsafe place to walk. Next time we will spend the extra money to stay closer to Greek town.”

“Went for a weekend visit and brought a friend who had never been to Detroit before. The nearby clubs provided a number of loiterers for a few minutes when they let but otherwise the location is great for visiting the city. I grew up in Detroit and return often so staying at a hotel downtown was a treat as I usually stay with my family. I was greatly impressed by the Sheraton upgrades from the former hotel. We walked around to check out some of the nightclubs nearby and had quick access to a number of downtown restaurants and features. I have already recommended my family look into this hotel.”

“The Sheraton Riverside, while from the outside is not incredibly appealing, is very nice inside having been recently remodeled. The rooms are very well done and comfortable with a staff that is kind and informative about the area. The hotel restaurant bar has good food, well mixed drinks, and the restaurant staff is very fun and enjoyable.”

“Complained to Management about no AC or hot water. Left my name and no one got back to me.”

“Hotel staff is great, but the location is not so desirable. The hotel is located across the street from a nightclub and it is very noisy until 3 am. The rooms were very small and the walls were thin.”

“We checked in at 3:30 pm and parking at the hotel was already full. We ended up having to park down the street for only a few hours and paid $10.00. Our room had no bathtub, no refrigerator, and no microwave. The shower was barely big enough for one person. We then went to enjoy the swimming pool and it was filthy. We were absolutely appalled at this! No one was in it (of course) because it was visibly nasty. We then put out our breakfast card on our door so that we could enjoy a nice breakfast before we checked out and when we woke up, the card was still hanging on the door! At this point, we both had headaches and went to the store to get some Tylenol. All painkillers were gone with no back stock available.”

“Arrived at hotel at 12:30 pm. Check in is at 3:00pm.Went to check in at 3:10pm only to find out that there were no clean rooms. We were in Detroit to attend a sporting event at 3:40pm. It was not cleaned. The service was terrible.”

“Not one of the better Sheraton's. Had to ask for towels and things that should have already been provided. No mini fridge; charge for that. The all night parties kept us awake and there were beer cans all over the halls and elevators.”

“Overall pleasant experience. No closet space to speak of. Our refrigerator had been removed and there was no bathtub just a shower. No kleenex even. But loved the flat screened TV and king size bed and furnishings.”

“While we overall enjoyed our stay - we had a few issues. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as it should have been - which to me was major. The room was a tad small for a king. And most importantly we had a heat issue. With it being the beginning of May they had already turned the heat off and turned the air on. Because there was no room by room thermostat and the temperature dropped to the 30 and 40's at night - we froze our butts off because the room temperature was around 65 all night and we could not fix it.”

“Across the street from the convention center, has a good fitness room, poor restaurant and no local eateries, convenience or grocery stores. I had to move twice due to mechanical malfunctions in the room.”

“I didn't like the fact that I had to pay $20 for one of the nights for parking, when we didn't even check into the hotel until about 2 am!”

“Staff was friendly and helpful. Old building newly redone - only shower in room (no tub) great for business travel or night on the town.” Hotel Representatives:
