  • The setting is pleasant.
  • our room, the service in the restaurant.

“This hotel is not what we expected because there is an additional fee of $14.50 per person, per day for use of facilities. Customers get the service quarters over the bar with dirty/worn carpet and no elevator.”

  • Location, setting.
  • Bed smelled musty.

“Great location, good workout room, pool, and loved the yoga class. Room was small rustic, but the bed smelled musty and we had to have the linens changed.”

  • Instant on fireplace in room, easy to use good ambiance.
  • Poor sound insolation between rooms was an irritation.

“Attractive grounds and surroundings, expensive restaurant.

  • It was very clean.
  • They charged me a resort fee of $14.50 per night plus tax.

“Terrible excuse of upscale room, plus I was charged over $30 extra and I have proof of this.”

  • My second room was nice.
  • The resort fee.

“Don’t stay here.”

  • Historical beautiful setting. Amenities. Excellent food in the restaurant.
  • The staff in the restaurant was typically slow and somewhat unattentive.

“The setting was beautiful. We enjoyed the historic background. Our room was obviously older but extremely charming, well decorated and clean. We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much and wished we had time to take advantage of all the facilities they
had to offer. The staff in the restaurant could have been a little more responsive.”

  • It was a beautiful setting, very rustic and charming.
  • I couldn't figure out where to park and had to walk around to get to my room. The air conditioner was either on or off - hard to regulate.

“I found this hotel quite charming. The room was a bit bland, and the bedspread had seen better days. I found it hard to get comfortable as you couldn't open the large windows and the air conditioner was hard to regulate. Food was very good, if pricey.”

  • Swimming pool, hot tub.
  • The additonal fee charged by them.

“Excellent hotel. Only thing I did not like was the fact that they charged an additional fee of $14.00 per adult when we arrived. They stated that this was allowed and it was for classes (Yoga- if you wanted to go), and parking, pool etc. Other than that nice stay.”

  • Gorgeous location, friendly staff.
  • Furnishings starting to show wear.

“Beautiful location, nestled in hollow. Quiet, romantic. Rooms need freshening (new spreads, linens, carpet). Internet connection awkwardly placed, with cords to short to reach work space. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great for a romantic weekend.”

  • Large room with fireplace in room; very helpful concierge.
  • We didn't dislike anything.

“The resort was fabulous! We wouldn't hesitate to stay at there in the future.”

  • The grounds are gorgeous.
  • I did not like being charged an automatic resort fees. Parking is cramped.

“We enjoyed the history and the southwestern style of the place. It was a great quiet retreat after a strenuous day of sight seeing in downtown Santa Fe.”

  • Beautiful, peaceful location.
  • Staff was
not very friendly, hallway to room messy.

“Wonderful, restful stay. Could sit on the rustic balcony and watch wild life. Tried to use spa facilities (supposed to be open till 8:00 pm) but they closed at 5:00 pm. Front desk charged me an additional $14.95- facility use fee.”

  • Location and ambiance.
  • Dated equipment.

“Excellent hotel for peace and tranquility with close enough to town square to be practical.”

  • The secluded but convenient location to town.

“The hotel is unimpressive at first glance, but after a short tour you began to appreciate its charm. The hotel is a historical site and has an intriguing past.”

  • Great accommodations, beautiful view!

“What a beautiful, peaceful place to stay overnight on our trip to Colorado. Just wish we could have spent another day or two there. We'll highly recommend it to all our friends and will try to get back there in the near future.”

  • Great staff and very nice grounds.
  • No wireless internet.

“Upon checking in we had a first great encounter with the staff. The help us in a big way. Throughout our stay everyone was helpful and the rooms was great.”

  • Awesome service! We felt very pampered and relaxed!
  • I thought the resort fee wasn't worth the 'extras' they say it's for. It will make me hesitate next time.

“Everything was excellent as far as service and appearance. The walls are a bit thin, but what can you expect for a building built at the turn of the century? The grounds are lovely and very romantic. I will return, but will budget better for the resort fee which is per person, per day and seems to vary at certain times of the year. I would recommend asking exactly what amount you will be charged.”

  • Very romantic, supportive and luxury resort! Wonderful!
  • Nothing.

“We very enjoyed the weekend at the bishops lodge, our room, the room service was very impressive, the restaurant was also very nice and romantic with the live music, we also enjoyed participating the yoga and the horseback riding! It was also very nice to be in 5 minutes at the Santa Fe plaza. So we had a wonderful weekend.”
