• The attempt to solve a problem.
• Poor service from waiter Nolberto.

“I was in 3 different rooms to find out the wall thermostat did not adjust the room AC/heater unit under the window. The manager was friendly and attempted to find an room that the wall thermostat worked. He helped me with my moves. He did give me a breakfast voucher for Sunday. However server Nolbert said restaurant was opening 30 minute late due to a sick call in. Finally I was seated, he brought me a plate, then a soda (don't drink coffee). He did not ask me if I wanted juice. He did not ask me if I wanted anything else. He laid the bill on my table-without saying a word. I receive better service at McDonald's!”

• I liked the unique styling and comfortable bed.
• Nothing.

“This hotel is close to shopping, but also close to Highway 1. The road noise however was not noticeable. Overall, this is a great value. The hotel itself is not new, but the styling is very contemporary and really brings up the quality of the hotel. It reminds me of the chic boutique hotels in Los Angeles. The rooms are trendy, the lighting is nice, the amenities are good, the bed and chairs were very clean and comfortable. Overall the room was very relaxing and comfortable.”

• The ambiance and aesthetics of the room were wonderful
• The room lacked a hairdryer, standard in most hotels.

“The hotel was very welcoming from the time I arrived at the reception desk. It had a very pleasing and updated decor, a prelude to the room we had. Once we got into the room, we were very taken by the colorful and vibrant decor. It was obvious that an effort to make the room hip and modern happened recently, which we appreciated. We only stayed the night, but we made sure to enjoy the balcony and large flat screen TV before sleeping very well on the comfortable king-size bed. We would definitely stay at the Mission Inn again!”

• Bed were very comfortable; excellent decor and grounds.
• No hot water both
  AM and PM. Of course we received the usual apologies for the engineering problem.

“Beautiful decor and grounds make this place a delightful hotel to stay at if they can fix the lack of hot water throughout the hotel. Beds were amazingly comfortable.”

• Very clean. Great pillows. Lovely bathroom, upscale. Pool and spa well-maintained.
• Our bed was a little worn and sunken. We like a firmer mattress with no body depressions.

“On the outside it's not very appealing, but the inside is fantastic, like the 4 star hotels we've experienced. We enjoyed the shops nearby. We brought our bikes and rode over to Carmel frequently to see the ocean and the beautiful homes. Not a difficult ride at all. The mattress was a little worn and made our backs ache, but we liked the view from our room and it was very quiet, so we did not want to change. We would like to stay here again!”
