• The architecture was beautiful and all the spaces were very tastefully decorated.

“The decor was beautiful. We loved the antiques, artwork and furniture. The rooms were comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Location was central to all there is to see in downtown Providence.”

• The lobby and public areas are spectacular.
• Poor climate controls in room and trash in dustbin!

“The Hotel Providence offers a bit of old world charm in a tight package. Although the entry and lobby are quite beautiful the room left much to be asked for. The television was dated, the climate controls were of an older style, the room was cold upon arrival and there was trash in the dustbin.”

• The service was top notch!
• The location is not the best and the bathroom door didn't close.

“Overall the hotel stay was worth the money. The service was better than we have received at the Marriott, Baltimore, and even the Westin. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Since it is an older building some of the older characteristics showed (such as the settling of the building kept the bathroom door from shutting).”

• The bed/mattress was extremely comfortable! The front desk staff superb!
• Church bells ringing while I tried to rest. Trash collectors picking up at 3:30am. Homeless shelter 2 doors down with homeless people on street.

“Hotel is beautiful, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. This hotel accommodated my daughter and I although we arrived before check in. Scott was excellent. The location within walking distance to the mall is fabulous. The bells, trash men at 3:30am and the transients as I walked out the front door detracted from the overall stay.”

• The linens and cleanliness were top notch.
• The location was downtown but out of the loop.

“The Hotel Providence exceeded our expectations. The hotel staff was friendly and responsive. The room was beautifully decorated and the linens were of the highest quality. The comfort of the bed was that of the starwood heavenly bed if not higher.”

• The entrance is on a less than lovely street.

“The staff at The Hotel Providence was extraordinarily helpful. The check-in staff was friendly and walked us to the elevator to ensure that we could find it and understood the key card system. The valet parkers were courteous and prompt. The rooms were well-appointed and clean.”

• Cleanliness and elegance.
• Proximity to loud and rough bars.

“The hotel is beautiful, both the lobby and the rooms. Elegant and well maintained. While the building itself is old, the interior appears very new. There was quite a bit of street noise at night - yelling and horns - from nearby rough bars. The hotel is in good proximity to shopping and movies, but on the less desirable end of the zone.”

• The hotel was absolutely gorgeous.
• We were not told about the $24.00 valet parking fee.

“Wonderfully beautiful and historic, worth every penny and more. We were disappointed about the mandatory valet parking (price was high even for Providence standards) $24.00, not including numerous tips.”
