“The hotel is newer and for the most part, clean. The area is a little scary. We wanted to be back in before too late at night. Also, the maid service didn't vacuum our room during our multi-night stay - small thing but it needed it.”

“Its was a great hotel. We had the guest/simple room and it was huge. Ive been to New York before and I was aware that the room might be small but this was a very nice room. Lots of space. Had a queen size bed, chair, table, and stand for the Plasma TV. the bathroom was also big in size. Everything was very clean and nicely put in place. The bathroom had Bath & Body Works products that smells awesome. I loved this hotel!”

“There are many pluses and a few minuses. I would stay again if the pool worked. This part of town did not have much entertainment to offer or restaurants.”

“Very nice hotel and great staff. They checked us in about noon, though they say 3-4pm is check in time. One odd item is that you have to have your room card in a slot inside the room to get electricity/lights/TV. Good for energy efficiency, but another thing to remember. Only issue was handled as well as could be. Fire alarm/CO2 detector kept beeping at 3:30am in our room the last night and could not be fixed. The front desk offered us a different room on the same floor, which we accepted. We were able to leave all of our personal items in our first room, sleep in the second room, and return to the first room the next morning to checkout. They did offer us 2 coupons for free breakfast also, but we did not use them.”

“We got there and the room was a just a bit larger than the queen size bed. Seriously and there were others who just left. Upgrading cost us $35/night while the parking cost $22/night. An expense that I never thought we would have to make.”

“Hotel is $15 cab ride from Laguardia Airport. It is a two minute walk from a subway station and only a four minute ride from Manhattan. You get a major price break for being off the island but still are super close. The hotel itself is clean and modern. The rooms are compact but have everything you need. The view of Manhattan is great.”

“I looked to book at a Manhattan hotel. This hotel is listed at Manhattan View but is in Long Island City. It took an hour to get to Manhattan by car. From my home, I can see the moon; it does not mean travel there is convenient.”

“It was new, closed to subway and able to see city view (only at top floor). But it was a major disappointment when it did not have a coffee machine.”

“Great hotel, except for the pool (not approved to be opened yet), and the restaurant is not yet ready for prime time (I trust it will be in a few months) as service was very slow.”

“Close to subway, short ride to Manhattan. Many new hotels built and under construction in this area.”

“This is by far the best Holiday Inn I've stayed. I almost had to wonder if I was in the right hotel! The beds were some kind of cushion firm! I mean, we were in NYC and didn't want to leave the beds! The glass shower was comfortable and I took very long showers! There isn't anything around the hotel besides a bodega but you are two stops away form Manhattan and you can't beat that!”

“Fairly close to the No. 7 subway train, this Holiday Inn is a pleasant experience. It is difficult to located on the map and by driving, because it is on he corner of 39th & 29th Streets (confusing), but it is actually not far from Northern Blvd. and the Queensboro Bridge. On-street parking is available and the neighborhood, while working class and somewhat run down, seems safe.”
