“The location was great to subways, restaurants, midtown, and the upper west side. The first room we were given was a small corner of a room on the first floor that overlooked the noisy HVAC units. The bathroom was quite an adventure. The shower is only half enclosed and water goes everywhere once you figure out how to turn it on! The deck bar is a beautiful space and guests get priority access with their room cards.”

“I really enjoy staying here. The rooms are fantastic, most comfortable bed I've slept in even though the bathroom is not so good. The rooftop bar is amazing, and I did get upgraded to a suite one night. I had to switch rooms during my stay, and it took a long time for my new room to be ready. However the staff was very pleasant in all of my dealings with them. It was too cold to use the pool.”

“The Empire Hotel is in a wonderful location. Directly across from Lincoln Center and very close to wonderful restaurants and Central Park. The room itself was incredibly small but well-appointed. The water temperature in the shower never could be regulated below scalding hot and the hotel was not open to fixing the situation.”

“Tiny rooms, tiny bathroom, moldy bathroom with no shower curtain. The AC unit was really old and was barely functional. They failed to provide the wake-up call I requested. and if I hadn't set my cell phone alarm, I would have missed my morning flight home. Inexcusable!”

“overall the hotel was beautiful and luxurious. the rooms were small but lovely. there was no where to put our clothes so that was a little messy, but it would not stop me from staying there again.”

“Nice location (lincoln Center). Small rooms can be compared to a cruise ship cabin. The shower is a unbelievable diasaster. I causes the whole batroom to get wet and part of the room. There is half a shower door.”

“Upper west central park. Easy access to everything. Crummy bar service - all else, amazingly worth the price.”

“The rooms were too small and stuffy. There was construction going on next door to the hotel and it was very noisy and unpleasant.”

“For a 4 star hotel, I expect working AC. I did complain after the 1st night, but they didn't fix it or offer to move me. When I pointed this out upon checking out, the front desk person told me that many of the rooms suffer from this. Its not right for a 4 star hotel to knowingly put guests in rooms that are too warm to sleep in.”

“Impractical bathroom sink means you get soaked every time you turn on a tap. Hard to get attention of staff. Air shaft views. Loud air con in hot room with no controls. Wireless access intermittent. The rooftop pool area was lovely, but rendered unusable by loud music from public area. The toiletries are lovely. Not a hotel for the over 25.”
