• The room and the bathroom were large and well-appointed.
• No coffee or tea in our room.

“The Nines is a hip, stylish hotel. It seemed very busy with a hip, stylish crowd. Staff was very friendly and eager to be helpful. I have not had such a spacious room in an expensive hotel that I can remember. The lighted make-up mirror in the bathroom was a nice touch. The hotel is very conveniently located in the center of downtown Portland.”

“Very high class hotel, and very expensive normally. Very impressive. The only shortcomings are: expensive valet parking only, no in room coffee maker, and low water pressure in the shower.”

• Beautiful rooms, nice amenities including free internet and local phone, and
  helpful staff.
• Could use an in-room coffee maker. A bit noisy on street side.

“A great hotel for business. Centrally located, clean, well-designed rooms, well-ventilated and comfortable. Helpful staff. Also, free internet, local and toll-free calls which always strikes me as the right approach for hotels. Even complementary shoe polishing! I enjoyed the stay.”

• Gorgeous, unique design. Wonderful location.
• Clicking noise in the a/c vent (loud enough to wake me up).

“The Nines is a fabulous hotel. The overall design of the lobby, bar/restaurant, conference area, business center, fitness center, and guest rooms is so pleasing. The colors are eye popping and beautiful - a feast for the eyes. Very luxurious, yet understated. So chic. The staff were all courteous and very helpful. I ate one meal at the hotel (breakfast) and was impressed with the menu and my food. I can't wait to go back!”

• Friendly staff, very flexible.
• Location too close to higher crime.

“The Nines is definitely geared toward Generation X and Y travelers. Very hip and chic surroundings. I loved the color combos in my room and the 1080p LCD television. Bed will take you away to dream time very quickly. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice place for a romantic couple over the weekend or a business traveler for several days.”

• Beautiful, attention to detail, sophisticated, modern, lighting in room was perfect.
• Bed was not as comfortable, needs refrigerator, TV remote lag.

• It is a lovely hotel. No AC in the room.
• No AC. Last time a noisy room.

“The hotel is fabulous, the decor is amazing and the staff were wonderful but the AC didn't work! Last time we stayed there, we had a room with a lot of kitchen noise that kept us awake.”

• I liked the room decor & amenities, friendliness of employees, central PDX location.
• The room was too warm and stuffy even with air conditioning on - felt like airplane.

“This hotel provides a great central city get away. Staff is friendly and very accommodating, the rooms are beautifully decorated and we noticed that the restaurant was packed, so assume the food is good. We have already recommended this hotel to friends and family.”

• It was the nicest hotel room I have stayed in and the staff was excellent!
• It was very noisy all night because of the snowplows outside our window.

• Fantastic staff and available services quiet and peaceful yet right in the middle of a lively, busy city.
• Rooms are small, color combination bordering on gawdy, restaurant extremely expensive, no bathtub
  oversized stand up shower only.

“This is an excellent luxury hotel. Only wish the rooms were larger. Will definitely make an attempt to stay here again. The complimentary high speed internet a plus. The parking rates are insane here but public transportation is easily accessible if you can avoid having to park a car here.”

• Excellent location. Upscale linens and decor.
• Expensive parking fees, no coffee maker in room.

“The hotel was just recently launched. Decor was very nice and upscale. Bed and linens were top quality. Located just 1/2 block from Pioneer Square. Staff was very friendly, but not a well oiled machine yet. They left a meringe by our bed each night. Very nice, but my parner and I had to fight over it. They left a paper one morning, but not the next. I called to get a paper, but no one answered. Minor issues, really.”
