• The beds were great and the breakfast better than I expected -very good.
• Only thing was one employee (at breakfast) was quite surly.

“Not inexpensive since it's prime season, but still a good value - clean, comfortable, relatively quiet. The suite was extremely comfortable and spacious.”

• It was very nice and it we enjoyed the pool area.
• It did not have a dryer to dry our clothes.

“Over all we did my family and I enjoyed our stay maybe make sure you are washing the sheets more frequently with HOT water. I will recommend this place to my friends.”

• Spacious, clean rooms. Great pool. Fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff.
• Price was a little high, but the great free breakfast made up for that!

“This is probably one of the best hotels in Port A. The rooms are spacious and clean, with luxurious duvets on the beds. The public areas in the hotel are spotless. The hotel has a nice pool with a hot tub. The great thing about the pool is that a part of it is in the shade from about 10 a.m. onwards. This is fantastic on a hot day when everyone is already sunned out. The breakfast is also magnificent. They recently added hot items to the breakfast, like eggs (scrambled or omelet), sausage, bacon, biscuits & gravy.”

• Great breakfast and friendly staff.
• Door to rooms and stairway slammed shut creating loud noise.

“Typical Holiday Inn Express. Had everything we were looking for: outdoor pool, inside rooms, and great complimentary full breakfast. The hotel was only a quarter mile from the beach, very convenient. The hotel staff was very friendly.”

• I really liked the fact that there were no bedspreads or comforters; I always thought they were just not needed.
• The only thing I can say is I heard noises at night, but could have been noisy people.

• Proximity to the beach.
• Being on the first floor with all of the people traffic, way too loud.

“Nice, except for how loud it was. The room was on the first floor so all night and early in the morning it was extremely noisy with people/children. Our room faced the pool which was loud until they closed it at 11pm. Do not get a first floor room if you plan on going to bed earlier than 2am or sleeping in past 8 am.”

• There was a real breakfast with eggs, biscuits, gravy with sausage, yogurt, milk and juices, and it was free.
• It was down the road from the beach. I wanted to walk but had to drive.

“Clean comfy and hi-tech. But its not at the beach, it's a block or two from the beach. You have to drive. But the free hot breakfast buffet outweighs the flaw of location. The room was awesome, and the service was great! Also had a gym and computers and free Wi-Fi!”

• The staff are incredibly competent and friendly. Exellent breakfast.
• Our refrigerator began defrosting at 3am one morning, and we had to unplug it.

“We stayed here in May, and enjoyed ourselves so much that we returned in August. We typically do not like chain hotels, but the staff and facilities at HI Express in Port Aransas are fantastic. The breakfast was great, and offered enough variety that we didn't get bored during our 4 day trip. The pool area is well landscaped, and was very clean. It close enough to the beach for us to walk there with our 3 year old.”
