“Second trip here for two weeks May12. Same reliable quality as November, same friendly staff, food just as good. Note that the Mares side is closed until October for renovations, including the buffet, bar, pool, etc. so until then only Luna side is open which limits some of your choices. Otherwise a great resort, and Mares should be even nicer once it re-opens. Personally we liked the Mares side a bit better, although Luna is closer to the beach, but quite noisy during shows in the theater and the disco, depending on which building you are in. Closer to the "hub" the greater the noise. Unfortunately we chose Nolitours which was a decision we were to regret. We were not informed that the resort was half-closed, which was disappointing. Also, if you book with Transact you get a terrific beach party- with Nolitours you don't; same company, same price but you are now second-class. Won't make the same mistake again! Of course this has nothing to do with the resort; we were quite happy with our stay and will return again in the fall for the third time.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

“This resort was better than I had expected. Enjoyed all the food, it was not bland like I had read Cuban food can be. Beautiful lobbies and lush tropical grounds to stroll in. Beach is magnificent and huge always lounges available. Coral reef to snorkel on at the eastern end goes on for further than you could swim. Waves are moderated by a reef about 3 kames out, and water is brilliant turquoise and crystal clear if waves are not too large. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Rooms are clean with excellent service; fresh bottled water every day. We had no problems with health during the week. Great spot for quiet holiday, mostly older couples. I expect teenagers or singles would be bored; not a lot of local action or night life likes the 'hot spots'. Will be returning in the spring to this resort, met many people there for 4, 5, 8 return trips.” 7 of 8 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
