• Location, but nothing else.
• Filthy, tiny, smelly, inadequate.

“Forget how charming it looks on their website, this place is dirty, soulless and extremely small yet crammed with furniture. The bathrooms are a narrow corridor with no natural light. As you sit on the loo your knees are virtually up against the wall. There was limescale and dirt on the taps and shower head. The shower unit was tiny, anyone larger than elf size will have difficulty getting in. The glass shower screen was cracked and moldy and wouldn't stay on its runners. Water did not drain well, filling up the shower tray to the brim. The room had a musty smell of mold and stale smoke that no amount of leaving the window open would dispel. Lighting was crude and flickering. The bedspread was torn, stained and filthy. The bed itself was of the squeaky metal camp-bed variety making for an uncomfortable night only the one as we could stand the room no more and checked out early the following day. The owners seem to have refurbished cheaply some time in the early 70's and done nothing since. There's some nice dark wood furniture in the room but it's ridiculously large for the space, leaving nowhere for your suitcase, etc. I stay in hotels at least once a week for business and have made numerous trips to Italy both for business & pleasure. I have never stayed anywhere as dirty and unappealing as Antica Torre.”
