“This is a very nice hotel on the Delaware River. It was clearly a first class resort in it's heyday, and is still a very nice resort adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The food and service were excellent. There was a nice looking golf course, which I did not have time to play, as well as an executive golf course that was free to play, even for kids, after 6:00 pm. It was very family friendly.”

“Obviously they placed us in the least expensive room. It was very
small, smaller then most economy lodges.”

“Visited for an extended romantic weekend with my husband. A little disappointed with outside property; however inside more than made up for the lack of aesthetics outside. convenient location-great for couples and/or families. Sam Sneed's Tavern(located just steps from main building) an added bonus-Foo was great.”

“The air conditioning system in the room was not operating therefore I needed to open the window. Unfortunately my room was overlooking the roof of the restaurant portion of the hotel therefore the fans were very, very noisy. Overall the hotel was very charming and the golf course attached was a great touch. The pro-shop was very accommodating and was able to squeeze me in for a quick 18. Since it was early in the season, I was able to play 18 holes in just over 3 hours.”

“The Inn is old very quaint, but elegant at the same time. I thought the staff was awesome. The bellhop was a pleasure. The beds were awful. Tried 2 rooms, the 2nd were bigger and had kitchenette, but the beds were horrible. They said they're updating. I always bring a foam mattress pad just in case good thing I did. Other than that, the grounds are quite romantic.”

“This is a very expensive hotel for the accommodation. Yes it is a very good run hotel, but still a little too pricey compared to what you can get for the price elsewhere.”

“They were very friendly, they have small rooms, the room was clean, and they have a huge pool (if I could rate the pool I would give it ten stars.).”

“Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is an ideal place for someone who would like to get away from the rush of city life and enjoy nature. Although it is advertised as a family facility, there is little for families to do there. The rooms were fairly clean and beds were comfortable. Also the staff was friendly. Overall, the stay was good but the facility needs to be refurbished.”

“I reserved a superior king room with a river or mountain view. My wife called almost two months in advance to confirm the reservation and to ask for a river view. She was told that they will see what they could do. That meant yes to her. Upon arrival we were given our room and my wife asked if it was the room she reserved, they said no that room wasn't available, but a standard king with no river view was. My wife was not happy. My wife then proceeded to ask if any queen beds with a river view were available, yes there was.”

“Arriving at the hotel evoked the feeling of a time gone by. The grounds were in fine shape and the bell service was attentive and cordial. Shawnee had an upscale, come as you are atmosphere and was relaxing to the eye. In the room, there was a different story. The room was not in good repair with wallpaper splitting at the seams and attempted repairs done with clear tape. The down comforter had some small dark spots on it and there was no comfortable sitting chair. The bathroom had a toilet that was not secured to the floor properly and kept moving to the left and right. There was dust on the top of the tile where the wallpaper meets it which remained all week. Surfaces were clean but there was the distinct lack of deep cleaning. There was a problem with the air conditioning halfway through the week and it went unresolved, save for a fan that was brought into the room. I would stay there again due to location and general hotel offerings but I would need to see a room with better conditioning.”

“There was no parking when we arrived because they have golf tournaments park in the same lot as guests, some staff was extremely friendly, while others were a little rude. Food and drink is way overpriced and the drinks we bought were expired (by a month). Although they have a nice view and some good activities, the building is in poor condition. They are charging a lot for what you are getting. Sink and shower do not work properly and are old, kitchenette is gross and right in the middle of the room, and floors are old and dingy. There is a door closed off in your room, however you can hear every word your neighbors are saying, so don't plan on sleeping. And, by the way, the power goes out often, and while we were there, we had a fire alarm go off and everyone evacuate.”

“The hotel was beautiful nice river and mountain views, very quiet during the week. Maybe four cars in the parking lot. One corner of the wall paper was peeling. The big problem was the old plumbing, especially for so few quests in the hotel. Literally freezing cold to scalding hot and back again and again. Plus at 5'7" my boyfriend smacked his head on the shower head it is that low.”

“My children and I normally go on very active vacations. This time we just wanted to relax and enjoy and that is exactly what we found at the Shawnee. The area was beautiful. The rooms although small were very comfortable and nicely appointed. The facilities had a nice pool although it did not have the mini-golf or sauna that was listed. The staff was very friendly and informative. It was close to shopping, family friendly restaurants and horseback riding! I slept the best I have in ages as it was so peaceful. It also looks to be a great place for business conferences and catered events like reunions, mid-size weddings and other parties. The Shawnee general store was recommended by the staff and just off property and it had great well-priced breakfasts and lunches.”

“Difficult to find, waited forty minutes before they found the reservation which they said they never received. There was a frost and the heat was not working in the room, food quality limited and poor in the dining room, paint chipped in the room, sink drain didn't work, coffee maker in the room was filled with old coffee.”

“Lovely spot, beautiful, and quiet. Close to major highway, but remote enough to forget "civilization...a golf resort for a true addict...just a great get-a-way.”
