• Clean, comfortable room. Convenient parking.
• No complimentary breakfast or coffee.

“Clean, comfortable hotel with convenient, free parking close to the attractions of the island and Newport if you know your way around. Staff is polite but not overly friendly. Disappointed that there was no complimentary coffee or continental breakfast which we've come to expect from this type of sleep-n-go hotel.”

• Plenty of room, couch, desk, refrig., coffee pot. Mice shower head.
• Windows were foggy, they need replacing. Toilet seat needs tightening.

“Overall it was just fine. All room should have a thermometer so you can tell the temperature of the room. I am always hot or cold.”

• Clean hotel, friendly staff, moderately priced.
• Temperature regulation in the room was difficult.

“This hotel met my expectations exactly (which is a rare thing). Everything was laid out for me and I never had a need to call the front desk. In fact, I never had to talk to any of the staff beyond my check-in visit to the front counter (she was very nice and pointed me to a local restaurant). Three stars all the way. Great off-season value.”

• Toilets didn't have plunger.

• The staff was excellent, courteous and very helpful.
• Absolutely nothing.

“As a retiree, on a budget, it was a relief to be able to stay at the Marriott. I was in Middletown for a surprise birthday party and was able to afford my stay. Thank you for your service, I will use it again in the future.”

• Poor location / sign not visible from highway.

“This hotel is outdated. It is in a poor location for travelers visiting Newport, RI. The sign off of the main street is in a poor location. I missed the hotel twice. The complimentary coffee was disgusting.”

• The beds are amazing. I actually look forward to them. Also, as a woman alone, I feel safe there.
• Maids came at 8:10 to clean - way too early.

“I have stayed at this courtyard 6 times within the last 18 months. I am a woman traveling alone, usually. On each occasion, this hotel has met or exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the hotel is spotless. I feel safe and well taken care of. I have also traveled there with my family, and this is also a child friendly hotel. Nice pool, a variety of choices at breakfast. Just a great spot.”

• The rooms were clean and there was plenty of free parking.
• We had breakfast at the hotel's only restaurant on the first morning, not complimentary; it wasn't very good. We went to other restaurants after that.

“In my opinion this hotel is very much geared toward the business traveler. They seem to offer all the basics for a business traveler just looking for a clean room, Internet access, lots of news and sports channels on the TV, and a convenient location. There are swimming pools both indoor and outdoor, but other than that it wasn't a particularly family friendly hotel which in this case was fine with me as I wasn't looking for a family friendly hotel. I did have one small complaint though. Upon arrival in which I had booked two rooms, one for myself and one for my mother, I was a bit disappointed that our rooms weren't closer together as the first night we were there the hotel was far from being filled up and I thought they could have accommodated us a little better. On the second night, however, it was apparent that they had a large party of school graduates staying over and why they didn't try to arrange all them to be in the same wing I'll never know because it seemed they were spread out too and because of that my mother and I both got treated to a sleepless night from young adults talking and laughing and slamming doors up and and down the hallways until 5 o'clock in the morning. While some would not have considered them to be having a party or anything like that, I am a light sleeper and every time someone laughed or talked in the hallways or let their doors slam, I was wakened and my mother admitted she was too. This is not the hotel's fault of course, but if I ever end up in that hotel again I will ask to be put in a wing where they aren't housing a group of young adults or kids.”

• Check out time at 12:00 noon. Comfortable bed and sheets.
• The bathroom had several pieces of hair on the floor.

“This was economical and convenient for our purposes. We were just staying overnight for an event in Newport and did not plan or need to spend a lot of time in our room. The desk staff was helpful and friendly.”

• The pool area was very large and enjoyable
• We came back to room around 2 pm and cleaning person was just getting there so we couldn't unwind in room

“Hotel is conveniently located to downtown Newport and is very clean. The rooms are nicely decorated. The pool area is very nice.”

• The hotel was very clean & the staff was very friendly.
• The furniture in the room appeared old and worn.

“The hotel suited my purposes, which was just an overnight stay. The fact that the Marriott Courtyard does not have a restaurant/lounge on site or within walking distance was a dissapointment. Otherwise, it was 'OK', nothing to rave about.”
